Most Best: Better Than the Sacrifices | File Type: video/x-m4v | Duration: 24:48

In order for God to establish a covenant with mankind and in order for him to forgive sins, blood has to be shed. Blood was shed at the beginning of the Old Covenant and blood had to continually be shed to pay the penalty for Israel's ongoing sin. As our perfect high priest, instead of offering an animal to God, Jesus offered himself to God. And Jesus' blood is entirely effectual for the forgiveness of the entire world! Because of the ultimate sacrifice Jesus made, “There is no need to offer any more sacrifices.”

Most Best: Better Than the Priests | File Type: video/x-m4v | Duration: 32:24

The book of Hebrews mentions the work of priests in each of the first 10 chapters--suffice it to say that priesthood is a major theme! In the Old Covenant priest were appointed from among men to represent humanity to God. Priests had to be able to understand human weakness in order to sympathize with people and were also responsible for offering gifts and sacrifices to God as a way of atoning for human sin. Through his incarnation and suffering Jesus became qualified to serve as our priest. Jesus took upon our weaknesses, subjected himself to temptation, and experienced every form of sorrow imaginable. Jesus did all this in order to become our perfect high priest.

Most Best: Better Than the Old Way | File Type: video/x-m4v | Duration: 28:26

The Book of Hebrews opens up to address a group of Jesus followers who are faltering and falling back into their old ways of thinking. As the heat gets turned on them, they're quick to turn away from Jesus. But in their lack of commitment and constant flip flopping, they never find rest. We'll look into why our hearts, minds and bodies lack rest as we go back and forth between our old ways of thinking and completely selling out to Jesus.

Dialed In: Philemon: Dialed In To Following | File Type: video/x-m4v | Duration: 35:15

This sermon will focus on Paul's leadership of Philemon--the owner of a slave named Onesimus. Paul became friends with Onesimus and accordingly asked Philemon to give Onesimus his freedom. Paul called Philemon to a high level of trust, sacrifice and brotherhood. Sometimes spiritual leadership requires us to make really high, demanding request of people. And as followers, we need to obediently respond to what our leaders are asking from us.

Dialed In: Titus: Dialed In To Grace | File Type: video/x-m4v | Duration: 30:54

This sermon will focus on 3:1-11 and highlight the importance of integrity and character in the life of a Christian, especially for Christians who lead. In this passage Paul gives a great number of practical examples about how to express their faith in practical ways, such as: submission to governing officials, obedience, avoidance of fights and humility. Paul says, “All who trust in God must devote themselves to doing good.”

Dialed In: II Timothy: Dialed In To Diligence | File Type: video/x-m4v | Duration: 29:38

This sermon will focus on 2:1-7, where Paul gives Timothy three specific examples to follow to inspire him towards faithful service: The soldier, the athlete and the farmer. The soldier is single-mindedly focused on his commanding officer's instructions, the athlete has a strict code of conduct he must submit to if he wants to be qualified to receive the prize and the farmer is only able to enjoy the fruit of the harvest if he has diligently worked throughout the entire season. Each of these types of people have an aspect of their job which should be true of those who lead--especially of those who lead in ministry.

Dialed In: I Timothy: Dialed In To Character | File Type: video/x-m4v | Duration: 32:27

This sermon will focus on the many character-based leadership principles found in 1 Timothy. We'll examine several different passages from this letter, but a helpful grounding passage is 3:1-7. When reading these verses in preparation for the weekend don't get hung up on these requirements being specifically for elders or deacons. Focus instead on the picture these verses present of what a godly leader should look like--which is applicable for all people who desire to serve in the church.
