This week Jess, Laura, and Karen join together to discuss episode 2×20 of the show, “The Evil Queen.” We kick it off with some of our favorite quotes from the episode. There were some really great ones this week. We all sort of had a WTF moment when Regina used magic on Henry. Hasn’t she learned anything?? Jess and Karen are particularly glad Emma figured out Tamara was up to something – they definitely didn’t want to see that dragged out. We all think Neal still has a soft spot for Emma. Why else wouldn’t he have been so mad she broke into his room? We wonder if Tamara and Owen will turn on Hook. Laura thinks so, but Karen isn’t so sure. And we seriously wonder what’s going on with the Magic-Be-Gone cuff, and wonder if Magneto has to show up in order to get the magic eating metal bits out of Regina so she can have her magic back. We’re wondering what we learned about Regina and Rumpel in the scenes in the Enchanted Forest. Regina is human after all? And yet, as Jess explains, she stood at a crossroads and chose to go down the darker path. We also see Rumpel having his hand in more and more stories. Is there nothing he doesn’t control? Hell hath no fury like a Dwarf scorned? We talk about the promo for “Second Star to the Right,” and speculate about who Tamara actually is and the fact that it doesn’t look like Neal is Peter Pan. We also get some great feedback, with lots of love for Robin Hood and a question about August and the Blue Fairy.

This week Jess, Laura, and Karen join together to discuss episode 2×19 of the show, “Lacey.” We kick it off with some of our favorite quotes from the episode. Overall we had a mixed reaction to the episode. It was definitely darker than what we were expecting. Jess and Laura try to stay focused because they are Robin Hood fans, and they liked the glimpse of Robin, but they really want more! The bean stalk garden and going home, is this idea good? Are they looking at it through Rose colored glasses? Are there visiting privileges? Regina is back with the black heart accusations again. Is deliberately ruining someone’s life a “blacker act” than attempted murder that you then regret? We need a hierarchy. We like how Emma almost gets through to Regina, and we are a bit sad that Regina doesn’t have someone who is an adult as consistently rooting for her the way Belle was with Rumple. The Rumple storyline was dark. The dream freaked us out, but clearly Rumple regretted his actions in the dream when he woke up. Is that a sign? David as his romance tutor is hilarious, but what will the return favor be? We really like that Rumple is trying and just when you think he’s turned the corner he rips out a tongue and beats the crap out of the Sheriff of Nottingham. The level of violence really disturbed us. Belle as Lacey was pretty disturbing too. Rumple’s description really nailed it. She was such the stereotype. Is there any glimmer of the “real Belle” in there. Why this may not be an issue thanks to Selina’s interview. If we found Rumple beating the sheriff disturbing, we found Belle enjoying it horrifying. We are waiting for Jefferson to reappear considering the name of the bar. There has to be an Alice in Wonderland connection. We want more Robin Hood and we want him to not actually need magic arrows, though we did like the concept. Will we meet the Merry Men and King John and King Richard? Jess and Laura get distracted again, maybe we need a Robin Hood podcast? We hope Robin Hood isn’t like Aurora, Mulan, and others who we barely meet and then we hear nothing for long periods of time. Speaking of Aurora and Mulan, we want them back! Why is no one concerned what is happening with them? We aren’t fond of only seeing tiny bits of Greg and Tamara. Where is Greg’s dad? Was he the one who brought Henry back as a baby? Is he dead or trapped or enchanted? And why in the world do they need Hook? We were underwhelmed that the big reveal was Hook in the truck, not so scary in our opinion.

Why didn’t Cora’s heart look darkened or BLACK?

-Cora is the Miller’s daughter -Tripped by Snow’s mother and made to kneel and apologize -Tell’s the King she can spin straw to gold. If she can he will let her marry his son, Henry. -Rumple teaches her how to access her hate to create magic -Their relationship -Change contract from first born to his child -She plans to take the King’s heart and run away with Rumple, but instead takes her own so that she isn’t weakened by love. -Rumple and company arrive in Storybrooke. -Rumple forces Emma to tap into her magic to create a protection spell for them -Rumple gives the candle to Snow and tells her that if she holds it over Cora’s heart it will curse the heart and if she -gets it back in Cora it will kill her and save him. -Cora and Regina go after Rumple and combine their magic -Regina goes to her vault when they sense someone is there and Cora continues alone. -Rumple starts to say his goodbyes -Snow uses the candle -Regina finds her and Snow tells her that she was bringing Cora’s heart to her. She convinces Regina that if she puts it back in Cora that Cora will be able to love her and she will have a mother. -Charming finds Snow outside the vault and she tells him that he was right, that this isn’t her. -Cora makes it through to Rumple and causes Emma and Neal to vanish -Rumple asks if she ever loved him and she says he was her weakness -She lifts the knife to kill him, but Regina shoves her heart back in before she can -Cora turns and smiles at Regina before collapsing -She tells Regina that this would have been love, that she would have been loved. -She dies in Regina’s arms and Rumple is fine -Snow and Charming burst in to tell Regina to stop, but are too late -Regina vows Snow will pay

This is a special episode of Hypable's Once Upon a Time podcast Onceable, where Selina Wilken speaks to Chad Michael Collins, who guest starred in 2x12 "In the Name of the Brother" as Gerhardt/Frankenstein's monster. In the interview, Collins talks about the process of becoming Frankenstein's monster and working with blue screen, revealing how the cast and crew manage to get the feel of the scenery across while shooting even though most of the fairytale sets are CGI. He also talks about Once Upon a Time's ability to take classic characters and humanise them, and how he specifically tried to do that with Frankenstein's monster. Collins discusses the possibility of returning to the show in the future, and reveals what other fairytale characters he'd like to see Gerhardt interact with on the show. Finally he shares his experience of filming with the cast and crew of the show, and previews his upcoming projects - including the WWII action movie Company of Heroes, which is out February 26.
