Sofia is eight years old, and lives in Palermo. She likes going to school, doing her homework, and going out with her mother and friends. She tells us about the last film she’s seen at the cinema. She also recites the alphabet and counts.

First, we meet a young couple: Christian and Michela. They live in Tuscany and are engaged to be married. Both are from Basilicata, where they have come on holiday. Next, we meet three friends. They're all happy to live in the sea-side town of Maratea.

Marika tells us about Italian sayings and proverbs, providing examples about life, love, and the weather.

Salvo Agria is a painter and according to him, art is the most liberating way of expressing oneself. He believes that a person doesn’t choose art, but that art chooses the person. He shows a painting that depicts three generations: a little girl, an adult woman, and an old woman.

Flavia is from Maratea, but she now lives in Rome, where she attends university. She misses her native town.

Elisabetta is from Palermo. She is thirty years old and has a four-year old girl. She's a ceramicist, work that she likes a lot. For several years now she’s had her own shop where, together with other people, she creates unique ceramic objects.

Serena, Milena and Flavia tell us about how they spend their days on the beautiful beach of Maratea. The girls and their friends come to this popular beach on hot summer days as well as on winter days, just to get together and see one another.

Milena and Mattia meet at a restaurant and order grilled sandwiches and beer. They tell each other what they've been up to in the last few days. Milena spent a lot of time at home studying, while Mattia was busy practicing for a concert.

Antonio is on the beach of Tropea, more specifically, on the Lido Costa Blu [Blue Coast Beach]. Right now it's deserted, but in the summertime this place fills up with beach clubs. The entire coast, extending to Marina di Camerota (Camerota Shoreline), offers many different types of beaches: sand, pebble, stones and rocks.
