After Moses left Egypt he spent in the desert. These years of isolation and quiet were years God used to transform his spirit. We all need to make time to be quiet and still so God can work in us.

When Moses is grown, it settles in that he was born an Israelite and not an Egyptian. In a pivotal moment of his story, he looks around to see if anyone has noticed what he has done. But he forgot to look up.

Evil exists in this world, but God is big enough to handle it. We can stand firm through life's battles when we have the truth and peace of the gospel to protect us.

We cannot skip over the awkward, difficult parts of the Bible. We can, however, find guidance to bring healing and hope into our broken world today by learning the history and context of our broken past.

Kids want to be loved and safe. Parents want to be loved and known. It may be difficult to learn a new language of being a blessing to each other, but it's worth it.

When taken in context, Paul's writing about first-century Christian households was revolutionary and one we should humbly aspire to today. We are called to submit to one another in love.

We are called to live under the influence of the Spirit. It is a conscious decision every day to let the Spirit guide our lives.

Just as children imitate parents, we should imitate Christ.
