This week, Richard and David had the opportunity to chat with Nicola Scott, the Australia artist best known for her work with DC Comics and Gail Simone on Birds of Prey and Secret Six. She has worked on several titles within the New 52, including Superman with George Pérez. Nicola is currently working on Earth 2 with James Robinson. Nicola chats about the challenges and joys of creating something from scratch in Earth 2, and her plans with the book beyond Robinson's departure later this year. She discusses approaching iconic characters such as Superman and her experiences in working with the US comics industry from her home in Sydney. This week, Richard had the opportunity to chat with J.P. Kalonji, who is about to release the graphic novel Ningen's Nightmares, a follow-up to his 2009 breakthrough release for Dark Horse, 365 Samurai and a Few Bowls of Rice. J.P. Kalonji is an artist based in Geneva, Switzerland. He began his professional career in 1992 when he produced his first album Street Nation for the European market, and has worked with a variety of publishers and artists, including album art for Wyclef Jean. He is the co-founder of NethoProd, through which Kalonji published Street Nation II (2009) and the autobiographical Happy Days (2010). 365 Samurai... was his first English-language release.
