G'day Everyone! Just wanted to let you all know: STAY TUNED! Bad news: no episode this week. Good news: i recorded a grip of great interviews with some wonderful people in the Aussie Photography Industry over the past few days, and i cannot wait to get them to you! Relationship with professional suppliers 7. Regulation & copyright issues 8. Community What do you actually get? What does the AIPP do about legislation / Copyright / IP laws in Australia? Five core topics of the CPD Programme: photographic input photographic output workflow the business personal development How can the AIPP actually control the photography industry? What about those that aren't members of AIPP? Are they legitimate? "Look for the Logo" None of my clients have ever heard of the AIPP. So if no one knows who the AIPP is, why should I join? Can you explain what the AIPP is doing in Marketing & Educating the general public? Can you explain the competitions? State & National? How does the AIPP derive their competition entry fees? Some photographers are publicly saying they are extremely high, much higher than most competitions...where and whom does the funds go to for our registration to enter? The Remote Person: "The cost involved to come to the mainland to attend many of the CPD's is financially impossible. Webinairs? forget it with our slow broadband. Downloading seminars is impossible as it chews our allocated 3gb bandwidth!  Consideration for remote members - ie send important information out in express post bags instead of surface mail. Surface mail may take up to 3 months before I receive it!! Webinairs / Seminars on DVD that could be posted (prefer Australia Post express post bags) and that go towards required CPDs" Can you tell us what the AIPP is doing about the rise of Social media? A lot of photographers feel that the AIPP is a private club and they are on the outside. What is the AIPP doing to change the "old boys club" perception? 48% of members are women. The AIPP President is Kylie Lyons. 3 of 6 board women 4 of the 7 AIPP state presidents are women!
