Welcome to Episode 11! This week I talk a little about lighting and when to get the best light outdoors. I provide examples of hard light and soft light so you can see how the two affect your photographs. I also offer a couple of tips for getting great landscape shots. In Episode 8, I discuss how to get great prints from your photos by using a photo lab instead of relying on an ink jet printer. Although today's technology in ink jet printing produces some excellent results, they will still never match the quality of a real photo lab. I feature the lab Mpix.com because that is my personal lab of choice and I use their service as well as Mpix Pro for my printing needs. I also give you a tip about getting great shots of people and how to compose to ensure you fill the frame.

In Episode 6 I talk about the difference between RAW and JPEG files and how they affect your final image. I go into Lightroom 3 to provide examples of how flexible the files are in post production, as well as some limitations of each. I also talk about using a monopod and a Joby Gorrillapod to help you get sharp shots in situations where a tripod cannot be used or isn't practical.
