 Episode #142: June 5, 2014 | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 59:43

The Stargate is spinning up again, with original creators Dean Devlin and Roland Emmerich confirmed to be producing a new trilogy for MGM and Warner Bros. It's huge news for long-time Stargate fans, especially considering the fact that the creators are likely to disregard the three television series we know so well and love so much. David, Darren, and Diana discuss the big news and its implications, consider what a modern Stargate movie might look like, and look at the fan responses so far. Will Devlin and Emmerich be able to 'wow' us back into the theater? Can Stargate have a life beyond the TV continuity?

David and Diana devote this edition of the GateWorld podcast to transmedia, telling parts of the same story across multiple mediums.

We all have fond memories of sci fi shows which died long before their time. But what about the other end of the spectrum? Are there sci fi shows which lasted far past their prime? Are any of the Stargate series among them? GateWorld Podcast hosts David and Diana examine this topic in detail in this episode! We open our show with a little catch-up time, explaining why that elusive interview with Kate Hewlett hasn't arrived yet, and then spend several minutes discussing the Big Finish Stargate audio drama series, with an exclusive sample for your listening pleasure.

 Episode #138: September 26, 2012 | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 40:23

It has been called one of the greatest Stargate SG-1 episodes of all time. Now David and Diana spend the better part of an hour pulling it apart piece by piece. Window of Opportunity borrowed a classic plot device from the Bill Murray cult favorite, Groundhog Day, but the show contains something deeper which continues to resonate with fans nearly 15 years after it has aired. We will get into the exploration of our beloved characters, chaos theory and actions without consequences, in this episode!

 Episode #137: September 20, 2012 | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 57:17

We have been fortunate to have a GateWorld Podcast co-host with a Hollywood background, not to mention a published Stargate novel (and another on the way) under her belt. But we really haven't had the opportunity to ask her about the novel she wrote, nor her writing style. In this podcast, co-host David Read moderates a panel between co-host/author Diana Dru Botsford and author Melissa Scott at the TimeGate writers panel. We spend time discussing the various incarnations of the characters (interpreted by different authors), the future of the publishing industry, eBook advantages and pitfalls, the changing shape of entertainment consumption and more. In addition, David and Diana will finally spill the beans on a project they have been developing for nearly two years.

 Episode #136: September 12, 2012 | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 72:53

Yesterday was the anniversary of the 2001 terrorist attacks on the United States, an event which arguably changed the television-viewing landscape considerably. TV programming began to turn towards more dark, realistic characters, where the lines of right and wrong began to blur. In the spirit of that, David and Diana devote a full hour (plus a little extra) to examining the flawed, and entirely likeable, characteristics of numerous Stargate characters, from Jack O'Neill to Nicholas Rush, and go beyond to look into various sci-fi (and some non sci-fi) shows which developed similar characters.

 Episode #135: July 30, 2012 | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 55:31

With so much in the news, David and Diana spend a week digesting everything from the new Stargate app to the Aurora, Colorado shooting. We take time covering Comic-Con 2012, dissect three podcast voicemails and, go forther in-depth on "Epilogue" and, as promised in a previous episode, we finish the end of our show with a complete discussion of "Prometheus!"

 Episode #134: June 30, 2012 | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 52:10

David and Diana welcome back special guest Diane Turnshek, Physics Outreach Coordinator at Carnegie Mellon University, to delve deep into the realm of wormhole physics and black holes! As always, David and Diana catch up on what has been filling their lives most recently. We will also tap-dance around the film "Prometheus," and since Diana had yet to view the film when this was recorded we will save the spoilers for the end of the next podcast!

 Episode #133: May 24, 2012 | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 58:24

In this installment, David and Diana spend an episode of the GateWorld podcast celebrating the life and legacy of Joel Goldsmith, composer of all three incarnations of the Stargate television series, who passed away on April 29 at the age of 54. As a special treat, the two are joined by Joel's long-time collaborator and friend Neal Acree, who assisted Goldsmith since Season Three of SG-1.
