 Modcast #43: Lovefingers - Live At PS1 | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 01:43:42

Andrew Hogge AKA Lovefingers needs little introduction amongst the global disco elite, his world famous lovefingers.org has had an undeniable impact on the burgeoning eclectic dance scene of today and has enabled him to bring his eccentric taste and unique DJ style on tours throughout the US, Europe, Asia, and Australia. 'Fingers' has kindly donated to us his live set from PS1 MoMA's Warm-Up, from August last year. A lot has happened since now and then, which is why Loverfingers' recollection of the track list is a little, uh, hazy. e.g. "Hmmm tracklisting... I cant remember half of them, something like this..." Tracklist O.G.  Modcast #42: Eric Duncan AKA DrDunks BalEric D Mix 2005 NYC | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 01:11:42

Understatement: Eric Duncan has his tricky fingers in many a musical pie, so to speak. Whether he's busy being DrDunks, Rubbing 'n Tugging, Still Going, driving the C.O.M.B.I. or playing epic two day sets before literally tearing up the dance floor of the Passerby club - he's doing something - and that something is probably more than what you're doing. Which might explain why he can't seem to remember/be bothered to give us a tracklist for this Modcast. When Eric handed us his 'Eric Duncan AKA DrDunks BalEric D Mix'* mix, he had this to say: "It was a sarcastic take on the trendiness of all those words and the 'Balearic' music trendiness basically." When it came to supplying the tracklist: "Na.. just make up your own..." Here's where you, our faithful subscribers come in. If you can figure out the tunes in Eric's mix, Eric will record a personalised answering machine/voicemail message for you in MP3 form. Not being home or screening calls has never been so fun! All you have to do is send what you think the tracklist is to: mystery-tracklist@modularpeople.com with your answers and this once in a lifetime prize will be yours. If you already have an answering machine message, Eric will address any single question that you'd like answered that pertains to predicting an uncertain future - whether it be real estate, future lovers or where your house keys got to - DrDunks has got the answers. * The alternative, uncut title of the mix is: 'BlaericLeftfieldDirtyDiscoSunsetSunriseTheBeachTheVibe Eric Duncan aka DrDunks BalEric D Mix 2005 NYC'.

 Modcast #36: Kim Pt. I - Prog-Cast | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 48:52

It's a well known fact that the best things in life come in two parts. Take this week's Modcast for example, put together by the one and only Kim Moyes (aka KIM/Kim from the Presets) who has provided us with a whopping two week's work of musical ear candy. This first installment, the ambient 'Prog cast' is an ode to synthesisers, prog and all things chill. Stay tuned in coming weeks for the 'Clubby' mix. Kim: "I'm so glad I've finally been given an opportunity to make a mix based around ambient, synth-prog and new age music. I've always loved this sort of music, from classic sci-fi soundtracks, formative come-downs and the days of my old band "Prop." These sorts of sounds have played a special part in my life. For this mix I have rediscovered some classic ambient and New Age sounds as well as some great recent stuff from the likes of Nils Frahm, Black To Comm and Alva Noto. Also included are some demos from a project I'm currently working on with Myles Heskett and Chris Ross. It's early days yet so we don't really have a name or any track titles but if you like what you hear keep your ear out later in the year for more from us three. Relax and enjoy. Playlist Front 242 - "Sample D" (Aerial Version) Tangerine Dream - "Sunset Drive" Fennesz + Sakamoto - "Mono" Ramases - "Earth People" Nils Frahm - "Ambre" Black to Comm - "Trapez" K.  Modcast #35: Delphic | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 29:05

It's unofficial/official Delphic week leading up the the release of Acolyte, and we've got an extremely banging Modcast for you to aurally celebrate with. Late last year, the lads popped into Mike Joyce's 'Alternative Therapy' radio show and played the following set, confirming that not only is 2010 the year of the tiger, but also Delphic. But wait, there's more. Acolyte is now streaming in full over on the band's MySpace page and make sure you tune in '2010' with Richard Kingsmil this Sunday night to hear and interview with Delphic and a special album announcement. Did somebody say, "feature album"?

Before stepping out to fill the prestigious position of 'support slot' for Yeah Yeah Yeahs on their It's Blitz! Australian tour, Jack Mannix and Angie Bermuda of Sydney band Circle Pit stopped by Modular HQ with a stack of their favourite records, an iPod full of their favourite MP3s and zero sign of pre-show jitters. Way back in 2006 Cut Copy pulled together a mix for Triple 5 Soul featuring the year's big dance floor tracks/bangers sprinkled with Cut Copy's electro-pop sensibilities turning out a mix for all seasons, for the people, not necessarily by the people. Think "The World is Running Down" by The Police being run down by Tiga's "You Gonna Want Me" melted effortlessly into Digitalism's "Zdarlight" and you've only really hit the tip.  Modcast #30: Dreamtime - Music For Airports, Planes, Trains and Buses | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 48:06

For the last 3 weeks I've been forced to float around Europe thanks to some immigration issues keeping me from my new home in London. A lot of this time has been spent shuffling between airports, planes, trains, buses, hotels, friends flats and footpaths, in Paris, Rome, Gothenburg and Stockholm. Created with the dual purpose in mind of calming the nerves in the face of tense customs situations and equally sounding sublime while gazing out the window of a moving vessel, here's a mix of stuff that sounded perfect at various points in time during my exile. More gentle blend than mix so to speak. Music For Airports, Planes, Trains and Buses This Time Tomorrow - The Kinks Morning Of The Earth - G Wayne Thomas The Ballad Of El Goodo - Big Star Diana - Skip Spence Copenhagen - Scott Walker No Other - Gene Clark Spooky - Gary Walker And The Rain Tango Whiskeyman - Can Lullaby - Moondog Milky Way - Weather Report Walking In The Rain - Flash And The Pan Be With - Koushik Jennifer - Faust 1/1 [Excerpt] - Brian Eno

Modcast #29: Magic Happens - Use Your Illusionist | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 37:05

From a young age Magic learnt the values of drawing a line in the sand without putting all your eggs in one basket. After initially falling in amongst a rag-tag bunch of misfits with nothing to lose and something to prove, a youthful Magic Happens would soon reach a point of inconsolable disillusion and eventually come to formulate his own system of beliefs and ideals, ultimately arriving at the notion of doing what's best for the party. Upon this moment of clarity he ruthlessly fled Adelaide for the open pastures of Darlinghurst. It was here that he emerged as a legend and got 'pretty anthemic' in the face of adversity. An epicentre of taste, Magic Happens then went on to get real smooth and hit the disco tip, at the time one of few to do so in a landscape dominated by murky swamp-house. Which brings us to the present, a temperate climate in which Magic Happens flourishes heaps all the time. Use Your Illusionist kicks off with Windsurfer's Vapour Trails, and ends with Juan Maclean's One Day; and everything else in between. Full track listing can be acquired by contacting Magic Happens directly. Or if you're a fully sick Internet bro, send him a D on Twitter. FTW! Photo: Dumbo the Flying Elephant, Joe Penniston.
