On the last day of Milan Fashion Week, we talk to the experts after MaxMara’s light-hearted, playful show, which featured earthy colours with flashes of blue and fuchsia. Vanessa Friedman, fashion editor of the Financial Times, gives us her tips for the trends to watch next season, including fringing seen at Jil Sander, cheerful colour at Marni and the sad elegiac colours at Burberry Prorsum. Hilary Alexander of The Daily Telegraph gives her take on the trends and wishes designers would take inspiration from Carla Bruni and put models in flats before someone breaks an ankle. And we discuss the differences between the major international catwalks - big money in New York, ideas in London, commercial aesthetics in Milan and creativity in Paris.
