The Dave Weekly

It's the end of the series and we've got a delightfully smutty episode by way of an ear-tickling climax. Presenter Ben meets the towering talent that is Greg Davies, fresh off his new sitcom Man Down, and unveils an unlikely sexual fantasy fan site dedicated to Greg's seductive charms. And then, for a very happy ending, we go Gallic with lascivious French raconteur Marcel Lucont. Ooff.

If you're looking for happiness, look no further; Gyles Brandreth has the answer and it's yours for the price of a ticket or a book (he's fine with either). He's also had a rather interesting life from author and politician to comedian and actor. He's done it all. And if that wasn't enough we also have award winning comedian, sitcom star and writer and part time cyclist Holly Walsh. Well done us.

Have you heard the one about the Englishman Irishman and Scotsman? Well we're two thirds of the way there... and the Australian is in Scotland so near enough... right? In fact it's not just the Australian that happens to be in Scotland, the Dave Weekly happens to be Scotland this week as it's the EDINBURGH FESTIVAL! Yes that's right we're back up in comedy town for the start of this year's laughterfest and this week we've got Sean Hughes and David Quirk on to chew the fat about comic-ville. They also talk about other things for those of you already bored by the Edinburgh festival.

It's the long-awaited Episode 2 of The Dave Weekly! Yes, it's been a whole week. Very much 'The Dark Knight' to Episode 1's 'Batman Begins', here we tackle meatier, weightier themes with presenter Ben Shires, as always, playing the joker. Actress Rebecca Front discusses her ridiculously impressive comedy CV, from The Day Today all the way to The Thick of It, and reveals how she became an accidental champion of mental health issues on Twitter. Ben also meets his quiff-based nemesis, stand-up David Morgan, to find out why going to the Edinburgh comedy festival is like Xmas with your in-laws. Hopefully Episode 3 won't turn out to be a sprawling, over-stuffed mess and an utter, utter disappointment, Christopher Nolan.

The Dave Weekly is going A-List... Simon Pegg, Nick Frost, Edgar Wright, Charlie Day and Russell Howard. Not wanting to blow our own trumpet, but we're pretty proud of this one. It'll probably be downhill for the series from here but what a way to start. You are welcome.

But he was up in Leicester we just happened to miss him when he was there.

We caught up with Alan Davies backstage before his Leicester gig to talk about his latest tour before heading over to Dave's Curry house for the weirdest and most hilarious blind date ever.

The first night proper of Dave's Leicester Comedy Festival and we were in the thick of things. Back stage with the one line maestro Milton Jones, post gig chatting with the WitTank trio and the most surreal discussion we've ever had with Rich Fulcher. It's all in there. Oh yeah!

The Dave Weekly podcast team are heading up to Leicester for 16 days of hilarity for Dave's Leicester Comedy Festival. To kick it all off we'll be talking to Dave Spikey, Pat Cahill, Joel Dommett and Angela Barnes. It has funny written all over it.
