 Steelers Football - The Terrible Podcast - Episode 1138 | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 5882

Season 9, Episode 98 of The Terrible Podcast is now in the can and in this Friday show, Alex Kozora and I immediately talk some about the new rule passed this week by NFL owners that will allow for the challenging of both offensive and defensive pass interference calls and non-calls. We discuss a few of the positives and concerns related to this new rule. The 2019 pro day schedule is starting to wind down so Alex and I bring everyone up to date on where all the Pittsburgh Steelers have had people show up at and specifically, where general manager Kevin Colbert has been spotted this past week. We go over a few of the draft prospects that Colbert might have been getting a closer look at and how those players might fit into the team's draft plans this year. We discuss a few pro days that Colbert and head coach Mike Tomlin have not personally attended this offseason and what that may or may not mean as far as the team's first-round selection might end up being. Michigan linebacker Devin Bush is reportedly a player the Steelers have a lot of interest in this year as far as a potential first-round selection goes and because of that, Alex and I spent the last few days reviewing all of his 2018 tape. We both thoroughly breakdown Bush's play last season not only from a tape standpoint, but a statistical one as well. We discuss why he may have not shown up as much on the defensive stat sheet during his college career. Would and should the Steelers trade up for Bush this year if they really like him as much as we think they do? We discuss that topic and a few other possible players who might be in their sights should Bush and LSU linebacker Devin White both be off the board come time for the team's first-round selection. We tell our mock draft schedule for next week and also let listeners know what player we both intend on breaking down thoroughly next Friday. As usual, we close this episode by answering several emails we have received from listeners over the course of the last several days. As always, several other smaller talking points are mixed in throughout the show that are not highlighted here in this post. Thanks for listening and don't forget to call or email with questions or comments and please pass us along to your friends!

 Steelers Football - The Terrible Podcast - Episode 1137 | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 5593

Season 9, Episode 97 of The Terrible Podcast is now in the can and in this Tuesday show, Alex Kozora and I immediately talk some more about West Virginia linebacker David Long Jr. now that he's watched more tape of him. We compare Long to Michigan linebacker Devin Bush and talk some about him possibly being the shortest linebacker drafted in the first round since 2006. After discussing a few linebacker prospects, Alex and I discuss the multiple talking points provided by Steelers general manager Kevin Colbert and head coach Mike Tomlin the last few days while at the annual league meetings in Phoenix, Arizona. We discuss Steelers cornerback Artie Burns, the right tackle spot, Tomlin's comments on the offseason losses of wide receiver Antonio Brown and running back Le'Veon Bell and more. Colbert's free agency comments are also discussed and we go over where the team currently is in relation to the salary cap. Steelers players, both past and present, have recently come to the defense of quarterback Ben Roethlisberger so Alex and I discuss that topic briefly. We tell you where Colbert is on Tuesday and where he hasn't been spotted the last few days and if that holds any significance. We also discuss the Oakland Raiders signing former Steelers quarterback Landry Jones on Tuesday. New England Patriots tight end Rob Gronkowski recently retired so Alex and I address that topic and if he'll be a first-ballot Hall of Famer once eligible. A few rule changes are being voted on by NFL owners this year and Alex and I discuss the 4th and 15 proposal that would potentially replace onside kicks late in games. As usual, we close this episode by answering several emails we have received from listeners over the course of the last several days. As always, several other smaller talking points are mixed in throughout the show that are not highlighted here in this post.  Steelers Football - The Terrible Podcast - Episode 1136 | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 5981

Season 9, Episode 96 of The Terrible Podcast is now in the can and in this Friday show, Alex Kozora and I immediately get to the latest on the Pittsburgh Steelers being set to release veteran safety Morgan Burnett in the very near future. We discuss what that expected move means and if we think the team will still draft a dimebacker this year at some point even though free agent linebacker Mark Barron was recently signed. Steelers cornerback Mike Hilton is looking for a contract extension and apparently won't sign his exclusive rights tender for the time being,. We discuss what Hilton's course of action should be the remainder of the offseason and what his current market value might be. The Steelers have been busy on the pro day circuit the last few weeks so Alex brings you up to date on where all members of the organization have been spotted. We go over several draft hopefuls the Steelers might be getting a closer look at the last few weeks and discuss a few players that are reportedly already scheduled for pre-draft visits to Pittsburgh,. After Steelers general manager Kevin Colbert and head coach Mike Tomlin were both spotted at the West Virginia pro day on Thursday, Alex and I have a long discussion about linebacker David Long Jr. and where he should rank in the draft class at his position. We go over some fake news by Bleacher Report that hit the internet this past week that included speculation about cornerback Joe Haden being destined to be released and the Steelers not having enough salary cap space to sign their draft class with. We debunk that story completely in addition to making fun of the reports that the Steelers had any interest whatsoever in signing former Kansas City Chiefs outside linebacker Justin Houston. Former Steelers running Le'Veon Bell recently had an interesting sit-down interview with Sports Illustrated so Alex and I recap what all he had to say. As usual, we close this episode by answering several emails we have received from listeners over the course of the last several days. As always, several other smaller talking points are mixed in throughout the show that are not highlighted here in this post. Thanks for listening and don't forget to call or email with questions or comments and please pass us along to your friends!

 Steelers Football - The Terrible Podcast - Episode 1135 | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 4936

Season 9, Episode 95 of The Terrible Podcast is now in the can and in this Tuesday show, Alex Kozora and I immediately get to the latest on the accusation made last week by former Pittsburgh Steelers running back Josh Harris that quarterback Ben Roethlisberger fumbled on purpose late in a 2014 Week 17 game. Former Steelers backup quarterback Bruce Gradkowski has now weighed in on the topic so we pass along what all he had to say about Harris' recent allegations. The Steelers signed former Los Angeles Rams linebacker Mark Barron over the weekend so Alex and I spend a lot of time reviewing what we have seen on tape so far during a recent study of the player. We discuss several games that Barron played in last season, how he was against the run and in coverage, and how the Steelers might use him in their defense this season. After recapping the Steelers free agency moves to date, Alex and I talk a little about how all the moves potentially play into the team's draft preparations. We also discuss the tight end the Steelers had in for a free agent visit on Monday and if we expect the team to sign a player that plays that position in the near future. The 2019 college pro days are now in full swing and so Alex and I recap where all members of the Steelers organization have been spotted over the course of the last few days and which players they likely showed the most interest in thus far. We also talk about two big pro days that are scheduled to take place on Tuesday. The Steelers recently did a contract restructure to free up some salary cap space so we cover the who and what related to that transaction in addition to going over the numbers related to the deal that new wide receiver Donte Moncrief recently signed. We also talk some about Roethlisberger still not signing a contract extension and if that really means much of anything at this point of the offseason. As usual, we close this episode by answering several emails we have received from listeners over the course of the last several days. As always, several other smaller talking points are mixed in throughout the show that are not highlighted here in this post. Thanks for listening and don't forget to call or email with questions or comments and please pass us along to your friends!

 Steelers Football - The Terrible Podcast - Episode 1134 | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 5263

Season 9, Episode 94 of The Terrible Podcast is now in the can and in this Friday show, Alex Kozora and I immediately get to breaking down new Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver Donte Moncrief, who signed a two-year free agent contract with the team on Thursday. We talk about what we've already learned about Moncrief as a player in our quick reviews of his tape and what we think about the signing overall and he'll fit in offensively. Moncrief and new Steelers cornerback Steven Nelson both met the media on Thursday so Alex and I review the main talking points to come out of their press conferences. We discuss what other positions the Steelers might still address in free agency and if outside linebacker Justin Houston will be a treasonable target. The Steelers have also re-signed defensive tackle Daniel McCullers and punter Jordan Berry since our last episode so we go over those transactions and decisions in addition to discussing wide receiver Eli Rogers being signed to a new two-year contract. We circle back and discuss the new contract numbers for outside linebacker Anthony Chickillo and why they make his re-signing a bit easier to swallow. Did the Steelers get kicker Chris Boswell to move back his roster bonus due date recently? It appears as though they did so Alex and I discuss that topic for a bit and what it could mean for Boswell. The Steelers are making their presences known at a few college pro days as usual so Alex and I update them being at Michigan on Friday after being at Clemson on Thursday. Alex gives a quick rundown of the early Steelers sightings at college pro days so far in March. We wind down this show by looking closer at the contract numbers associated with the four-year deal that former Steelers running back Le'Veon Bell signed Thursday with the New York Jets. As usual, we close this episode by answering several emails we have received from listeners over the course of the last several days. As always, several other smaller talking points are mixed in throughout the show that are not highlighted here in this post.  Steelers Football - The Terrible Podcast - Episode 1133 | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 5371

Season 9, Episode 93 of The Terrible Podcast is now in the can and in this Wednesday show, Alex Kozora and I immediately get to the New York Jets signing of Pittsburgh Steelers free agent running back Le'Veon Bell late Tuesday. We talk about the early numbers related to Bell's new deal and discuss the gamble he made last season and how he ultimately played out for him. We look at all angles related to Bell's situation as objectively as we can. The Steelers came to terms with free agent cornerback Steven Nelson on Tuesday so Alex and I give our early thoughts on him ahead of our more in depth tape studies and breakdowns of the former member of the Kansas City Chiefs. We also discuss what Nelson's Tuesday signing might mean for the Steelers when it comes to addressing the cornerback position during the draft. The steelers also re-signed outside linebacker Anthony Chickillo on Tuesday so we discuss his early contract numbers and the decision to bring him back at the price they did. We also discuss what other positions the Steelers might address in free agency moving forward into the start of the new league year on Wednesday. We go over the final numbers of the contracts recently signed by Steelers center Maurkice Pouncey and guard Ramon Foster in addition to discussing a few contract tollings. We move on to address the Steelers salary cap situation pending the team's Tuesday signings. Other teams in the AFC North have had busy starts to free agency so we bring you up to date on what the Cleveland Browns and Baltimore Ravens have done over the course of the last few days.  Steelers Football - The Terrible Podcast - Episode 1132 | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 5686

Season 9, Episode 92 of The Terrible Podcast is now in the can and in this Monday show, Alex Kozora and I immediately get to the Pittsburgh Steelers trading of wide receiver Antonio Browns to the Oakland Raiders. Alex and I break down the trade of Brown from several different angles in addition to going over why the Steelers likely only received the compensation that they did, We recap what all Brown's agent, Drew Rosenaus, has since said about the trade and how what his client was able to accomplish isn't likely to be duplicated any time soon. We also discuss how the Steelers business model isn't likely to change due to what happened with Brown and running back Le'Veon Bell over the course of the last few seasons and why recent media narratives that the wide receiver wasn't fairly compensated during his time in Pittsburgh are false. While the Steelers now have 10 picks scheduled in the 2019 NFL Draft as a result of them recently trading away Brown and tackler Marcus Gilbert these past few days, Alex and I explain why we think the team will eventually use a few of those to trade up somewhere in the early rounds. With free agency about to start, Alex and I go over what the Steelers plans in the coming weeks might be. We also go over some positions they might address in free agency in addition to talking about a few targets they might show interest in on top of a few others they might not, such as wide receiver Golden Tate and a few others. Alex released his latest mock draft on Monday so we review it thoroughly. Will the Steelers use a draft pick this year on either a kicker or a punter? Alex and I discuss that topic as well during this podcast episode. A former Steelers running back recently accused quarterback Ben Roethlisberger of purposefully fumbling late in a 2014 game so we address that topic some. We also discuss the expected forthcoming contract extension of Roethlisberger and if he had anything to do with center Maurkice Pouncey getting his contract extension done earlier this offseason than expected. As usual, we close this episode by answering several emails we have received from listeners over the course of the last several days. As always, several other smaller talking points are mixed in throughout the show that are not highlighted here in this post. Thanks for listening and don't forget to call or email with questions or comments and please pass us along to your friends!

Season 9, Episode 91 of The Terrible Podcast is now in the can and in this Friday show, Alex Kozora and I immediately get to the Pittsburgh Steelers failed attempt to trade wide receiver Antonio Brown to the Buffalo Bills. We both peel back several layers of the Brown onion and go over all the options the Steelers have at this point and in addition to going over which teams might still be in the market to trade for him. After thoroughly dissecting the latest on Brown, Alex and I talk about what looks to be the pending trading or releasing of tackle Marcus Gilbert. We go over his current situation in addition to addressing which player is most likely to be the team's starting right tackle in 2019 should Gilbert be out. The Steelers re-signed guard Ramon Foster on Thursday in addition to signing center Maurkice Pouncey to a contract extension so we discuss both deals. We also talk about the restricted tenders the Steelers gave to tight end Xavier Grimble and offensive lineman B.J. Finney this week in addition to covering the other exclusive rights tenders that were issued. What kind of free agent market value will Steelers tight end Jesse James have next week? We discuss that in addition to going over the Steelers current salary cap situation and who they might look to sign in free agency. We discuss if we expect the Steelers to have any interest in any of the free agent safeties on the market this year and also go over a few lower-priced free agents the the team might look to sign. As usual, we close this episode by answering several emails we have received from listeners over the course of the last several days. A lot of head coaches and general managers around the NFL are being asked about Brown this week at the annual scouting combine so Alex and I go over what all several have said the last few days and where we think the wide receiver's trade value currently sits with two weeks remaining until the start of the 2019 league year. We also discuss a few other Steelers unrestricted free agents with just four weeks remaining until the start of the 2019 league year. Steelers general manager Kevin Colbert gave us quite a bit to talk about this past week thanks to his session with the local media. We discuss Colbert's comments on quarterback Ben Roethlisberger being the unquestioned leader of the team and how he's not overly concerned with some comments he's made about the play of teammates in past radio show interviews. We also discuss Colbert referring to 52 players on the roster as Roethlisberger's kids. After fully breaking down the context of what Colbert had to say this week about Roethlisberger and how the major media has responded to several of his quotes, Alex and I move on to talk about the team's decision to not tag running back Le'Veon Bell this offseason in addition to them now attempting to trade disgruntled wide receiver Antonio Brown.
