 Terrible Podcast - Episode 977 | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 01:34:48

Season 8, Episode 66 of The Terrible Podcast is now up and in this Friday show, David Todd and I get right to talking quite a bit about the fallout from the Pittsburgh Steelers releasing outside linebacker James Harrison and his subsequent signing with the New England Patriots. We go over the reactions that several Steelers players have had to the way Harrison handled himself this season and get more into the timeline of events that led to the nasty divorce and his signing with the Patriots. Will the Steelers indeed rest a few starters on Sunday against the Cleveland Browns? It’s looking like that might be the case so David and I both weigh in on our reaction to that decision should it ultimately come to fruition. On Wednesday, David and I had an interview with Scott Petrak, who covers the Browns for The Chronicle-Telegram and Medina Gazette, and he gives us his insight on the Steelers Sunday opponent and what Cleveland might do during the offseason. You can follow Scott on Twitter at @ScottPetrak and read his work online at https://www.brownszone.com. David and I follow that interview up with our thoughts on the several team awards that were announced this week. We also go over some interesting ANY/A stats before giving you our weekly picks for all the Week 17 games. After initially ending this show, David and I jump back on the line together to discuss the Friday morning statement that Harrison issued. As always, several other smaller talking points are mixed in throughout the show that are not highlighted here in this post.  Terrible Podcast - Episode 976 | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 01:11:30

Season 8, Episode 65 of The Terrible Podcast is now up and in this Wednesday show, David Todd and I get right to talking a lot about former Pittsburgh Steelers outside linebacker James Harrison signing with the New England Patriots on Tuesday. We discuss what Harrison has left to offer the Patriots, some potential playoff matchups he might have and if he’s a threat to deliver useful information about his former team to his new team. Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin held his weekly press conference on Tuesday and talked a little about what may or may not happen with a few starters in the team’s regular season finale against the Cleveland Browns. We discuss that topic for a while. Tomlin also had several other comments on key talking points on Tuesday, so we recap those. David and I talk a little about the Browns to close out the show and most of that discussion centers around what they should do during the offseason. A few nuggets from around the NFL are discussed to close out this Wednesday show. We will have our interview with Scott Petrak, who covers the Browns, on our Friday show. As always, several other smaller talking points are mixed in throughout the show that are not highlighted here in this post.  Terrible Podcast - Episode 975 | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 01:06:30

Season 8, Episode 64 of The Terrible Podcast is now up and in this Tuesday show, David Todd and I get right to talking a lot about the Pittsburgh Steelers Monday win over the Houston Texans. Prior to breaking down the game, however, we discuss the Steelers decision to waive outside linebacker James Harrison on Saturday in order to activate tackle Marcus Gilbert to the 53-man roster. Will Harrison be back? Should he be back? We discuss. The Steelers really only had one pregame decision that’s worth discussing and it centers around offensive lineman Matt Feiler. For the most part the Steelers played well against the undermanned Texans. With that said, the Steelers defense had problems stopping the run Monday in Houston. We discuss that topic in addition to talking about cornerback Joe Haden traveling around to cover Texans wide receiver DeAndre Hopkins and if that decision can be perceived as a slight against fellow starting cornerback Artie Burns. We move on to talk about the Monday return of Steelers tight end Vance McDonald, the usage of new running back Stevan Ridley and how a few other offensive players preformed against the Texans. Is 2017 the final season in Pittsburgh for Steelers offensive coordinator Todd Haley regardless of how the postseason ends? We discuss that topic for a little while. Will Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin rest some starters against the Cleveland Browns even through there’s still a tiny chance that the team can get the No. 1 seed in the AFC? We discuss that topic. As always, several other smaller talking points are mixed in throughout the show that are not highlighted here in this post.  Terrible Podcast - Episode 974 | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 01:18:49

Season 8, Episode 63 of The Terrible Podcast is now up and in this Friday show, David Todd and I get things started by reading a very touching email that we received from one of our very satisfied listeners. We move on to discuss our level of fandom for the Pittsburgh Steelers in addition to talking about comments both of us made recently about kicker Chris Boswell and his selection to the Pro Bowl. The Steelers offensive coordinators met the media on Thursday and answered questions about what happened during the Week 15 loss to the New England Patriots. David and I focus on several comments that offensive coordinator Todd Haley made about the final few plays of that game. The Steelers will play the Houston Texans on Monday, so David and I get you ready for that AFC contest. We talk quite a bit about the Texans banged up offense and how we expect the Steelers offense to attack the Houston defense on the road. We go over the Steelers Thursday injury report and look at a forthcoming roster move in addition to examining which seven players will ultimately be inactive on Monday. As usual, David and I close out this Friday show with our picks of all the weekend games against the spread. As always, several other smaller talking points are mixed in throughout the show that are not highlighted here in this post.  Terrible Podcast - Episode 973 | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 01:35:20

Season 8, Episode 62 of The Terrible Podcast is now up and in this Wednesday show, David Todd and I are forced to talk more about the last several plays that took place in the Pittsburgh Steelers Sunday home loss to the New England Patriots because of what head coach Mike Tomlin and quarterback Ben Roethlisberger had to say to the media on Tuesday. David and I talk about the final timeout not wanting to be called by the Steelers and how the coaches and Roethlisberger all failed at being prepared after the touchdown catch by tight end Jesse James was overturned. We present a few real-timeline examples for you to ponder as we beat the horse to death when it comes to the end of the game topic. Tomlin had a few other things to say on Tuesday about injuries and how the defense tried to defend Patriots tight end Rob Gronkowski so we spend several minutes going over those topics. After roughly an hour, David and I finally move on from the Steelers game against the Patriots and begin to focus on the team’s Week 16 Monday game against the Houston Texans. To do that, we are joined once again by Drew Dougherty, who covers the Texans for the team’s official website. Drew brings us up-to-date on the current situation with the Texans and lets us know what Houston needs to do this coming Sunday to upset the Steelers. If you are not already doing so, pleased make sure to follow Drew on Twitter at @DoughertyDrew and read his work online here: http://www.houstontexans.com/news/drewdownfield.html David and I close out this Wednesday by talking a little bit about the Steelers Pro Bowl selections and Cincinnati Bengals head coach Marvin Lewis not returning in 2018. As always, several other smaller talking points are mixed in throughout the show that are not highlighted here in this post.  Terrible Podcast - Episode 972 | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 01:32:30

Season 8, Episode 61 of The Terrible Podcast is now up and in this Monday show, David Todd and I get right to talking about the Pittsburgh Steelers Sunday home loss to the New England Patriots. We start by talking about Steelers injured linebacker Ryan Shazier being at the game and move on to talk about the injuries suffered by wide receiver Antonio Brown and running back James Conner and how the roster might be juggled as a result of them. Discussion about the overturned touchdown reception by tight end Jesse James dominates the first half of this show and David and I give you our very objective, yet unpopular, thoughts on the ruling. We also discuss the fake spike play and the series of events that took place just prior to that. We move on to talk about how the Steelers played on both offense and defense Sunday against the Patriots and how the former unit essentially lost the game with just under four minutes remaining. Patriots tight end Rob Gronkowski had a solid performance Sunday against the Steelers and at the expense of safety Sean Davis. We make sure to recap that matchup as well as a few others and the individual performances of several players. As always, several other smaller talking points are mixed in throughout the show that are not highlighted here in this post. Season 8, Episode 60 of The Terrible Podcast is now up and in this Friday show, David Todd and I get right to talking about the Pittsburgh Steelers Week 15 Sunday home game against the New England Patriots. We open by looking back at some past players who played for the Steelers in previous games against the Patriots and how this year’s team seems to be much better from top to bottom. The Steelers Thursday injury report included a few surprises, so David and I recap it and try to predict which players we think might ultimately play Sunday against the Patriots. We also talk a little about wide receiver Martavis Bryant being removed from kickoff returns this weekend. David and I continue to talk a little more about the Steelers game against the Patriots before we pass along our Thursday interview with Ben Volin, who covers New England for The Boston Globe.  Terrible Podcast - Episode 970 | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 01:15:58

Season 8, Episode 59 of The Terrible Podcast is now up and in this Wednesday show, David Todd and I get right to talking about the New England Patriots losing Monday night to the Miami Dolphins and if we learned anything from that game. After breaking down what happened Monday night, David and I focus on a few things that Pittsburgh Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin had to say during his Tuesday press conference and that includes us recapping the team’s injury situation and whether or not cornerback Joe Haden will ultimately return to the field Sunday afternoon against the Patriots. David and I discuss the three-headed inside linebacker the Steelers used against the Baltimore Ravens Sunday night to replace the injured Ryan Shazier. Will that rotation be used again against the Patriots? Patriots head coach Bill Belichick held a press conference Wednesday morning, so David and I recap a few things he had to say about the Steelers. Most of the second half of this Wednesday show includes David and I talking about the upcoming game against the Patriots and specifically about how both teams might try to attack and defend each other. Our interview with a Patriots beat writer that was scheduled to take place on Wednesday will now be conducted on Thursday and will be included in the Friday podcast. David and I jump all over the place early on in this podcast but finally settle on talking about the play of the Steelers offense against the Ravens. We talk a lot about the play of quarterback Ben Roethlisberger, wide receiver Antonio Brown and the two tight ends, Jesse James and Vance McDonald. Running back Le’Veon Bell was also a huge contributor in the passing game Sunday night and we discuss a few of his touchdowns Sunday night. We make sure to save plenty of time to talk about the play of the Steelers defense Sunday night which wasn’t great at all. We go over how the Steelers tried to cover up for the loss of inside linebacker Ryan Shazier and how safety Sean Davis had a miserable night. The officiating wasn’t great Sunday night and thus David and I recap a few calls and non-calls that happened during the game. We also go over a few questionable play calls and coaching decisions that took place late in the game. We give you an update on the Steelers injury situation following their win over the Ravens and discuss a roster move that will likely take place on Tuesday.  Terrible Podcast - Episode 964 | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 01:20:35

Season 8, Episode 53 of The Terrible Podcast is now up and in this Wednesday show, David Todd and I open things up by talking about a few things that Pittsburgh Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin had to say Tuesday during his weekly press conference. Tomlin talked about the chances of a few injured players returning for the team’s Monday night road game against the Cincinnati Bengals in addition to his defense giving up more big plays to the Green Bay Packers Sunday night. We discuss those two topics in addition to how the Steelers offense played against the Packers minus wide receiver JuJu Smith-Schuster and tight end Vance McDonald. David and I travel down a rabbit hole thanks to a discussion about team turnover differentials and we pull up some historical stats related to past Super Bowl winners in addition to great Steelers teams of the past. It makes for an interesting discussion. The New York Giants announced on Tuesday that quarterback Eli Manning will effectively be sat down the remainder of the season so that the team can get a long look at backups Geno Smith and Davis Webb. David and I discuss that decision, how it was handled, and whether or not Manning will be a Giant in 2018. Later in this show David and I are once again joined by Paul Dehner Jr., who covers the Bengals for the Cincinnati Enquirer. As he did back in Week 7, Paul helps us preview the Week 13 Monday night game between the Steelers and Bengals. We talk offense, defense, play of rookies, linebacker Vontaze Burfict and more during this segment and Paul gives us his prediction for the Monday night game.  Terrible Podcast - Episode 963 | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 01:19:21

Season 8, Episode 52 of The Terrible Podcast is now up and in this Monday show, David Todd and I talk about the Pittsburgh Steelers Sunday night win against the Green Bay Packers but first, we discuss the comments made by head coach Mike Tomlin about his team and the upcoming game against the New England Patriots during an interview with Tony Dungy. David and I quickly discuss the Steelers Sunday night inactive list as well as the few seemingly minor injuries the team suffered Sunday night against the Packers. We finally move on to discuss the Sunday night game and the first half of that conversation revolves around the play of the defense and especially the big touchdown plays they allowed. We discuss several individual performances along the way. After thoroughly breaking down the Steelers defensive play Sunday night, David and I move on to the offense. We both agree that quarterback Ben Roethlisberger, wide receiver Antonio Brown and running back Le’Veon Bell, all had a great showing despite the three total turnovers that two of them had. We discuss the drops during the game in addition to a few play calls as well as the game’s final scoring drive. We move on to discuss a few seemingly dubious decisions made in the second half by the Packers to wind down the show. We end things by discussing safety Mike Mitchell winning an appeal of one of the two fines he received in the game earlier this season against the Kansas City Chiefs. As always, several other smaller talking points are mixed in throughout the show that are not highlighted here in this post. Thanks for listening and don't forget to call or email with questions or comments and please pass us along to your friends! The new message hotline is (814) 429-YINZ
