It's difficult to describe the cultural space Arcade Fire currently occupies. On the one hand, they recently won a Grammy for "Album of the Year', by definition moving them into the upper echelon of working musicians.

Last year we tried a little experiment with our friends at the Tall Ship Windy here on Navy Pier. During the attraction's lunch break we invited musicians to climb aboard the pirate ship to play a few songs. We called it Pirate Radio.
