Hope all of you listeners up in the northeast -- and in West Virginia, the state where I was born -- have finished recovering from the epic storm that blew threw your area a few weeks ago. So by the time most of you hear this, I'll be chillin' up in Virginia Beach, where I'll be a late-night DJ at Dirt Cheap Blues, an annual blues dance event that's loosely attached to the Natchel Blues at the Beach Festival. It's my third year DJing at Dirt Cheap, and I don't think I've ever gone up there and not had a great time. I'm also going to be a DJ at the Las Vegas Fusion Exchange in January, where one of my sets will be, in essence, a live one-hour Dave's Lounge episode. I've never really thought of the music I play on this show as dance music. Some important news for listeners this week: Dave's Lounge is returning to a bi-weekly schedule, with new shows coming out every other Friday. (I plan to alternate weeks with The Chillcast with Anji Bee.) Because of this, the Dave's Lounge Premium Podcast will now be only $12 a year. This week, I watched my favorite soccer team, the Carolina Railhawks -- yes, they're back from the brink -- upset the defending MLS Cup champion Los Angeles Galaxy, 2-1.
