** Clap Your Hands Say Yeah ** 4-19-07 | File Type: audio/x-m4b | Duration: Unknown

Clap Your Hands Say Yeah (often abbreviated CYHSY) is an American indie rock group founded in New London, Connecticut based in Brooklyn, New York and Philadelphia, Pennsylvania whose members include Alec Ounsworth, Lee Sargent, Robbie Guertin, Tyler Sargent, and Sean Greenhalgh. Their debut album, Clap Your Hands Say Yeah, was self-released in 2005. The band, whose members met at Connecticut College, started out by playing weekly shows at Pianos in Manhattan.[1] They are notable for achieving their initial fame and commercial success via the Internet rather than through a record label. Shortly after the release of their first album, they received attention from numerous MP3 blogs and a favorable review from Pitchfork Media, who gave the band a "Best New Music" commendation. The ensuing demand for the album was so great that the band was forced to repress the CD, as the initial production run was too small. They garnered even more press after David Bowie and David Byrne were spotted at some of the band's shows in 2005. [2] [3] They received praise from Rolling Stone as the 'Hot New Band' for 2005. On October 3, 2005, they were signed to Wichita Recordings in the UK. The band members live in Brooklyn, with the exception of Ounsworth who lives in Philadelphia. Ounsworth has a solo project, (Flashy Python and the Body Snatchers), and is said to be forming an "indie rock supergroup". [4] Meanwhile, Greenhalgh moonlighted as the frontman for Mr. Brownstone, a Guns N' Roses tribute band, until their breakup in June 2006.[5] The band has a fairly extensive repertoire of superpowers that expands outside their two-album parameter. Several non-album songs are frequently performed at live concerts, most notably, "My Papa's Waltz" (Also known as "Cigarettes" or "We Met at the Cemetery"), "Me and You Watson," "The Sword Song," and "Wet Dynamite" (Also known as "Pass Along This Way"). They have also been known to cover the ballad "Helpless," written by Neil Young. On November 11, 2006, the group partook in a tribute show for "The Music of Bob Dylan" at Avery Fisher Hall in New York City. They performed the Bob Dylan song "Love Minus Zero / No Limit" from the 1965 album Bringing It All Back Home. In 2006 Robbie Guertin contributed a t-shirt design to the Yellow Bird Project on behalf of the band to raise money for Art for Change. The band released their second album, Some Loud Thunder on January 29, 2007 in the UK and January 30, 2007 in the United States. In Australia, the song "Sunshine and Clouds" can be heard as the backing track to a Honda Commercial. Members Alec Ounsworth Tyler Sargent Robbie Guertin Lee Sargent Sean Greenhalgh

 ** Entropy ** 4-4-07 | File Type: audio/x-m4b | Duration: Unknown

Entropy Funky is about the injustices, the things that go wrong, the hungry kids going to school trying to learn. Funky is about what it takes to make people move - take it from the gospel, from the jazz. -- James Brown. The sexiest blend of old and new school funk happening in the south today, "Entropy distills the essence of funk into its own infectious brew". Based out of Atlanta, Entropy began as an instrumental trio in 1999, gaining steady recognition over the next two years for their high-energy performances. The addition of Rod Williams in '01 enhanced the dynamic and creative scope of the band, propelling them to new heights of soul, R&B, rap, and of course the super heavy funk. Later, the additions of Jailan Jagne and Hawk Harvey on alto and tenor saxes brought the budding sound into full bloom. Influenced by the traditions of James Brown, Parliament/Funkadelic, Prince, Eric B. & Ra Kim, and countless others, Entropy remains dedicated to bringing potent live performances and laying down slick, funky, sultry grooves in the studio. They have shared the stage and collaborated with a wide array of local, regional, and national talent, including Karl Denson's Tiny Universe, Kofi Burbridge, Robert Walter's 20th Congress, Vinyl, Carlos Washington & Giant People, Sound Tribe Sector Nine, The Greyhounds, Big Fuzz, DJ le Spam & the Spam Allstars, Ulu, Yonrico Scott Band, Jeff Sipe, DJ ..5, Squat, and Genetic. Over the past few years Entropy's fanbase has been growing and growing. Touring extensively in the southeast in '02 and '03 the band built a formidable reputation in its existing markets of Atlanta, Athens, Augusta, and Savannah for "the blistering energy of the live show" and their true funk sound. In '04 and '05 they spread the funk to Tenessee, Alabama, Florida, the Carolinas, and New Orleans (Jazz Fest '04 and '05) to packed dance floors of party people shakin' it all night long. Crowd response was enthusiastic to say the least, the people seemed almost starved for the funk. Entropy took it upon themselves to satisfy the fans' appetites by playing over 250 shows in '04 and '05, building a strong following everywhere they went. This funk frenzy was in support of their debut studio album, LIVE+REBEL+FUNK+LOVE, released in September 2004. Entropy has been recognized as an emerging funk-force to be reckoned with, illustrated by the 2002 Flagpole Award for Best Soul/Funk Band (Athens, GA) and most recently in 2006 for Creative Loafing's "Best R&B/Soul/Funk Act-Reader's Pick" (Atlanta, GA) . Currently, the band is in the trenches spreading the funk and preparing their sophmore release, slated for February 2007, which promises to be so funky it'll stink up the peoples' stereos.

 ** Leavers ** 3-15-07 | File Type: audio/x-m4b | Duration: Unknown

Leavers - Live @ 40 Watt 3-15-07 The Leavers were formed in 2002 by three ragtag college kids. Not really knowing where to fit in or conform to musically, the Leavers had a rough start. The lack of talent and contacts might have had a hand in the slow beginning of their tenure, but talent is overrated and the guys would eventually find the courage and confidence to become a balls in your face musical experience. As time went on, things changed slowly but ever necessarily. Drummers came and went, but songs continued to write themselves into the minds and hearts of those who called themselves 'Leavers.' The meaning of this word "leaver" which is not spelled or pronounced like a similar word, "lever", continues to grow and develop into an ideal or belief with its basis being: THERE ARE BETTER WAYS TO LIVE. A controversial and revolutionary ideal requiring the action of balls in faces gave birth to this nonconformist posse of wierdos and their passion to affect change. The band adopted its name in 2002 from a book written by Daniel Quinn called "Ishmael".

 ** Undertow Orchestra ** Rockumentary - 2-8-06 | File Type: audio/x-m4b | Duration: Unknown

Undertow Orchestra The undertow collective began in 1997 as a collection of independent artists, musicians, filmmakers, designers and creative managers sharing a studio and rehearsal space in the old garment warehouse district of downtown saint louis, missouri. we believed then, as we do now, that today's rapidly evolving technology is enabling creative expression like only a few times in history, and when shared among the like-minded, the technology becomes more than a tool - it becomes a catalyst for art. we also believed then, as we do now, that music, film and design are different children from the same parents, and there's a lot to be said for blurring the lines. finally, we think contemporary culture is heavily corporatized and commodified, and the most interesting creativity now lives in the fringes and margins of the independent creative spirit. we hope to continue working with artists who inspire, compel and move us to fall in love with their art. money is only a secondary means to making that happen. today, the undertow collective operates out of saint louis (record label, design and film production), champaign IL, new york, nashville and london UK (artist management), and boston (producer management + music licensing).

 ** Boombox ** Set 1 - 3-8-07 | File Type: audio/x-m4b | Duration: Unknown

Boombox Instrumentation Zion Rock Godchaux - Guitar, Vocals Russ Randolph - Machines (Sequencers/Samplers/Turntables) Biography "One simply cannot escape motion. Such intimate character a force so positive and so powerful." -Oriel B. Poole, Rhythms N Time Radio The signature sound of BoomBox reaches music and dance lovers across the board. BoomBox combines the talents of singer/songwriter/guitarist, Zion Godchaux and producer/dj, Russ Randolph into a new style of music that is infectious and irresistible to your senses. This evolution in dance music is created by combining live instruments and vocals with multi-track sequencing, turntables, and samplers. Sounds emerge as distinct motives transcending into delicate voice and smooth grooves. Formed in late 2003, BoomBox spent most of 2004 in the studio developing both their sound and their unique approach to live performance, which combines beat-driven hypnotic grooves (heavily influenced by electronic dance music, specifically the House genre) with the musical exploration and overall song approach of the Grateful Dead. Their debut album, "Visions of BackBeat" was released in late 2005 on the Heart of Gold Records label. It contains eight tracks that are written, arranged, performed and produced by Godchaux and Randolph, with the single exception being Bob Dylan's "Who Killed Davey Moore?". BoomBox's original sound evolved from two diverse musical backgrounds. Russ Randolph, better known for his production credits (Rex Foundation, Saliva, Sugarland, Los Lobos, and Chuck Berry), crossed paths with Godchaux while he was recording and mixing the Heart of Gold Band album "At the Table." Zion Godchaux was a major creative force behind that album: singing, playing drums, guitar, and sax, and writing half of the material. The title track, "At the Table," was the first drum programming collaboration for what would later become BoomBox. When "At the Table" was released in 2004, Russ joined Zion on the Heart of Gold Band tour lineup; which included Grateful Dead vocalist Donna Jean Godchaux-MacKay (Zion's mother), David MacKay, Brian Godchaux, Mark Adler, Joanie Diener and Gregg Anton. The tour, including a stop at the legendary Fillmore Auditorium in San Francisco, California, was very well received. BoomBox tours the United States and has performed at such venues as the Crystal Ballroom in Portland, the Showbox in Seattle, the Fox Theater in Boulder, Oregon Country Fair, Cervantes in Denver, Jupiter in Tuscaloosa, the Variety Playhouse in Atlanta, the Electric Factory in Philadelphia, Nelson Ledges Quarry Park (Grateful Fest) in Ohio, the Neighborhood Theater in Charlotte, the Mercy Lounge in Nashville, along with many other clubs and festivals. BoomBox has shared the bill with bands such as Keller Williams, Particle, Dark Star Orchestra, Rusted Root, Brothers Past, Steve Kimmock, Airto, Carlos Jones, among others. WYSO in Yellow Springs, Ohio, featured BoomBox on their Excursions radio show. BoomBox also broke into the movies, providing the soundtracks for "Express Yourself" and "Project X" - - surfing enthusiast films featuring Kelly Slater (current and 7 time world champion) conquering waves to their invigorating sound. BoomBox's high-energy stage show remains the heart and soul of what they do, drawing people together from diverse age, social and economic backgrounds. Russ and Zion constantly refine their music to keep it fresh well into the future. They are currently scheduling their 2007 tours.  ** Umphrey's McGee ** Set 1 - 2-28-07 | File Type: audio/x-m4b | Duration: Unknown

Umphrey's McGee Umphrey's McGee is Brendan Bayliss (guitar, vocals), Jake Cinninger (guitar, Moog, synthesizers, vocals), Joel Cummins (keyboards, vocals), Andy Farag (percussion), Kris Myers (drums, vocals), and Ryan Stasik (bass, no vocals). Also with the band are sound man Kevin Browning, monitor engineer Bob Ston, stage manager Robbie Williams, lighting designer Adam Budney, road manager Don Richards, and manager Vince Iwinski. “You can’t choose what happens, only how you react to it,” says Brendan Bayliss, guitarist and vocalist of the musically muscular and spontaneous band of merrymen Umphrey’s McGee. “We had kind of a crazy year and it all came out on this record,” elaborates guitarist and vocalist Jake Cinninger, referring to the band’s third studio offering, Safety In Numbers. “Though it’s not all obviously dark, there’s kind of a theme that runs through it,” he says. Following their New Year’s Eve 2004 gig, Umphrey’s McGee (its name is taken from a relative of Bayliss’) lost a close ally when their friend and fan, Brian Schultz, was killed by a drunk driver. In addition to the band’s collective loss, Bayliss was living through a personally emotional period of his own. A few weeks later, they were in the studio composing new songs. “It wasn’t a conscious effort to spill my guts,” says Bayliss, “But life and its circumstances are a balancing act, and it’s all on the record.” The musicians concur that the personal chaos provided plenty of fuel for an explosion of collaborative and creative energy. “Some people tend to turn inward when they hit hard times. But a bunch of us were going through this tough stuff together, and you can feel that in the recording,” says keyboardist and vocalist Joel Cummins. “That’s where the title comes from.” .... to read more, visit www.umphreys.com All content © Umphrey's McGee. EO featuring for the Georgia Theatre performance: Matt Butler Brock Butler (P Groove) Jeff Coffin (The Flecktones) Asher Fulero Chris Haugen (The Axis Brothers, Jambay) Steve Kimock Jeff Sipe (Phil and Friends, Trey Anastasio , ARU) Tanya Shylock (Mountain of Venus ) Mike Sugar (Jambay) THE EVERYONE ORCHESTRA is a revolving cast of stellar musicians brought together by drummer/conductor Matt Butler for concerts, festival super jams and special benefit events. EO performances are designed to create space for each performer's musical personality to shine, engage the audience as participants in the jam and to facilitate a massive celebratory coming together featuring a conductor directing both musicians and audience alike in interactive, lively, and highly danceable movements. "We pass the 'musical talking stick' around the collective group of players and take turns leading the stage, much like sharing music around a campfire. We also play musical improv games that I sometimes refer to as 'music sports'. Then we culminate in moments when everyone is on stage at once, playing conducted improvisations together," says Butler, who is also the founder of the group. The Everyone Orchestra has performed its shows nationally featuring members of The Grateful Dead, Phish, ALO, Disco Biscuits, The Derek Trucks Band, Fishbone, Poi Dog Pondering, String Cheese Incident, and Steve Kimock, G. Love, painters, dancers, hula hoopers, firespinners, stiltwalkers, activists, presidential candidates, storytellers and hundreds of others. While Butler is the primary conductor, others who have taken the helm of EO include Zilla's Jamie Janover, former Leftover Salmon bassman Tye North, Jon Fishman, SCI's Michael Travis, ALO's Dan Lebowitz and Zach Giil, Kai Eckhardt, Jambay's Mike Sugar plus other musicians and lucky members of the audience. Through the events and work of The Everyone Orchestra, close to $100,000 has been raised for contributions to non-profit and environmental organizations around the nation.
