Theology of the Body at the Street Level

Make lots of babies! The command is in our bones from the beginning. How happy, healthy, and holy it is to be fruitful and multiply. You don't necessarily increase your happiness by having a larger family, however, you do necessarily increase your CAPACITY for happiness, healthiness, and holiness by increasing the size of your family. Don't be afraid to be fertile.

Body language, what do words of the marriage rite mean in light of it? Jesus shows us what the rite of matrimony mean in relationship to the sexual union of man and wife.

Jesus made a marriage with mankind. Here comes the bride, all dressed in white. See how the sacrament of marriage is the foundation of the universe!!! Whoa, intense love.

Jesus finishes this triptych of three phases of history but also three phases of your heart. He shows you that it is not enough to know where you came from and where you are now, but you must know where you are going. Heaven anyone? He points out what life will be like in your body for all eternity. Glory - pretty cool, huh?

Jesus talks to you about your body. He convicts you of sin at the same time convicting you of his own glorious power to redeem, restore, and save you. Our flesh thirsts for God, our very hearts cry out, "Save us, Jesus!" The Lord calls us to purity and shows that the only way that this is possible is by life in the Spirit. Come Holy Spirit, and renew our bodies.

Jesus wants to talk to you about your body. The first thing he points to is the original intention of God the Father for your body. To do this, he brings you to primordial man, to the Beginning, to the Book of Genesis. "God created man and woman in his image and likeness." What does this mean? Find out in this session.
