David asked me to repeat the question. This should be an off the hook show. :)

Squidoo or Squidon’t…THAT Is The Question (Among Other Things) | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 0:29:44

Ahhh…social media. So many platforms, so little time So many, many ways to link back to your website, so little time. And yet, they’re not the keys to the kingdom.  In fact, there’s a method to the madness that is social media and we got a great question from a listener named Billy about Squidoo and what he can do with little or no SEO budget. A few years ago, Squidoo was getting a good amount of press, but they’ve gone a bit under the radar…but are they still valid as a part of the mix? Things that make you go hmmmmmmm… Like our parents tell us as we’re growing up (yes, just think of MIND as your folks), live in moderation.  Too much of anything can be bad for you. In this week’s podcast Dave, Mark and Russ discuss Billy’s questions and give answers about how to use Squidoo and other social media properly…AND how to do some effective DIY SEO if you don’t have a budget. Any questions?   Make sure you click the provocatively provocative “Your SEO Podcast Questions Ask Now” button on the right to submit a question for us to answer on an upcoming podcast!  We love your input:) P.S.  Let us know if you do/don’t want us to use your full name.

How To Avoid And Recover From Manual And Algorithmic Google Penalty | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 0:45:34

Ahhh…Google penalty. In hockey, a player can be penalized for a varying number of minutes depending on the penalty.  When a player is penalized and sits a while in the ol’ penalty box, the player comes back out on the ice rested and ready to pick up where he left off. Like hockey, the degree of your overall penalty depends on the degree of your infraction;  however, the similarity ends there. Unlike hockey, you will not come out of penalty well-rested and you will NOT pick up where you left off. Manual penalty tends to be easier to recover from (though not “easy” by any means) than algorithmic penalty simply because Google communicates with you when you’re in manual penalty and you can submit your site for reinclusion.  Algorithmic penalty is a whole other ball game.   Pandas, penguins…we’ve got the whole menagerie. In this week’s podcast Dave, Mark and Russ discuss how to avoid and how to recover from Google penalty if your business ever finds itself out of Google’s good graces. Any questions?   Make sure you click the sensuously seductive “Your SEO Podcast Questions Ask Now” button on the right to submit a question for us to answer on an upcoming podcast!  We love your input:)

 MyBlogGuest | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 0:22:01

Well, the Chicken Little’s are flapping and yelling hysterically that the sky is falling again.   Word was all over the Interwebs yesterday that Matt Cutts confirmed that a large guest blog network had been penalized, and it was confirmed that MyBlogGuest is the network that was penalized.  (And yes, we used the word “Interwebs” for a larf) Almost immediately, comments were popping up with negativespeak about guest blogging networks being “spam networks” and shady operations. Now hold the phone just one darn second. Google’s search engine algorithm gets gamed constantly…does that make them a “spammy search engine?”  Certainly not.  Whether it’s MyBlogGuest or another guest blogging network, it all comes down to how you use the platform…are you using it in compliance with Google? In this week’s podcast Dave, Mark and Russ discuss the importance of going about your guest blogging in the right way for the right reasons.  If you’re taking the time to write truly helpful, quality content and you’re finding good, relevant websites to guest post on, you’re probably going to be ok, so take a listen and we’ll paint the full picture for ya;) Make sure you click the hella-bodacious “Your SEO Podcast Questions Ask Now” button on the right to submit a question for us to answer on an upcoming podcast!  We love your input:)
