 Let's Make Quick and Easy Felt | File Type: video/x-m4v | Duration: Unknown

So you have been wanting to make felt but are overwhelmed by all the rubbing, pounding, rolling that you have to do. Not to mention you can't seem to find a sushi mat big enough or the department store is out of shelf liner. Making felt can seem too physically demanding and the various supplies you need aren't already in your closet making it easy to give up on the project. But, in this show, Michelle shares with you her quick and easy technique for making felt that anyone can do. To follow along you will need a clothes dryer and these supplies: Saran wrap Nylon stocking (leg from old pantyhose, you know there is a pair hanging out in the back of your drawer!) Spray water bottle Various fibers (grab what you have and see what happens)     If you are looking for a lovely fiber to try check out Crosspatch Creations. I am absolutely in love with their rovings. I made two gorgeous scarve from their fiber as well as some lovely felt cuffs. If there is one thing I have learned in my crafting journey it is this: no matter what your skill level or artistic ability is, if you start with gorgeous materials you are much more likely to end up with a finished item that you enjoy. When I start with rovings from Crosspatch Creations I am always pleased with the outcome.   Good luck with your felting experimentations!

In this episode we experiment with drawing and painting with oil pastels, acrylic paint, and water.   To follow along you will need these supplies: Watercolor paper Omnigrid ruler Pencil and eraser Titanium white paint Porfolio series water soluble oil pastels Water Paper towels Paint brushes Wax paper As you follow along with this episode you may find the music a bit annoying because there is a lot of it! Just hit the mute button. As you watch the show you will see that there are just a few simple steps in this project. 1. Draw a grid 2. Sketch a face with pencil 3. Color face with oil pastels 4. Paint picture by adding liquid to picture (use your paint and water) If you would like to learn how to draw a face check out some of the online classes taught by Suzi Blu. They are well worth the price! Also, I highly recommend the book, Unfurling by Misty Mawn. I used one of her creative prompts as a starting point for this project.
