SPI 042: Killer Kindle Publishing Tips with Jonny Andrews | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 40:44

In this session of The Smart Passive Income Podcast I pick the brain of someone who is seeing massive success by publishing books on Amazon's Kindle platform. As many of you may know by now, I'm deep in the middle of publishing my own Kindle book for the first time, and when conducting research and asking around for advice, more often than not, this person's name kept coming up. I'm happy to welcome Jonny Andrews and his business partner Hollis to the SPI podcast today where we talk about his success on the Kindle platform, and more importantly, his approach - and I have to say our conversation was such a breath of fresh air. Why? Because like with any online make-money opportunity, there are a lot of people out there who teach the quick and easy way to do things, ways which don't really provide value to the end user, unfortunately. With Jonny, however, his main priority is making sure that extreme value is being provided to those who will be purchasing books on the Kindle platform, because it is that value that will put more people in front of your book, introduce more people to your brand, and drive more sales. In this session you'll learn about: The #1 most important thing to consider if you really want to be a successful author on Kindle. Why keywords are actually irrelevant when it comes to book publishing on Amazon. Other potential benefits (beyond monetary) that can come out of publishing in the Kindle marketplace. What the Amazon environment can offer authors that really no other marketplace can. How to go where the eyeballs on Amazon are looking. Where to start when you don't have a platform and existing audience to sell to. Why most people fail when it comes to creating cover art that works. Why the reviews for a book are more important than the book itself. Why Jonny says there is zero competition on the Amazon platform. Jonny's thoughts on using ghostwriters and why one should strongly consider it. Tips for using images in your Kindle book, and how not to lose money because of it. As I mentioned in the podcast, I'm documenting and reporting this entire process in a Private Facebook Group in hopes that by the end of this I not only have my first book published on Amazon, but a convenient, step-by-step guide for anyone else who wants to do the same. It would be a nice addendum to my existing eBook, eBooks the Smart Way, for sure. :) Thank you all for your support, thank you to Jonny and Hollis, and I wish you all the best!  SPI 041: Affiliate Marketing the SMART Way – How to Stop Hoping and Start Earning | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 38:49

In this session of The Smart Passive Income Podcast you'll hear a revised (blog & podcast-friendly) version of my recent solo presentation at Blog World Expo in New York, which is all about how I manage to earn a significant income from affiliate marketing without using aggressive or forceful marketing tactics and hardly any pitch at all. In general, affiliate marketing has somewhat of a negative connotation, but my goal was to show that you can make a significant income from affiliate marketing while at the same time strengthen the relationship that you have with your audience and keep them coming back for more. In this session you'll learn about: The model or "experience" that I take my readers which requires very little pitching in order to eventually make a sale. The one component that's absolutely necessary in order for any transaction to happen on your website. Why the old way of teaching affiliate marketing has led to so much failure. 3 strategies you can use to speed up the relationship building process and connect on a deeper level with your audience much faster. The one question that you must be able to answer in order to succeed with affiliate marketing, and how the answer to that one question can show you precisely what products you should be promoting to your audience. What Amazon.com teaches us about affiliate marketing. Why promoting a product that you didn't use yourself can be extremely harmful to you and your brand. How science and mirror neurons play a role in how we should be promoting affiliate products. The specific kind of proof that enabled me to increase my earnings for one particular affiliate product from $4000/month to $15,000/month. 5 not-so-popular tips that you can use at the exact point of sale (where you place affiliate links on your site) to help increase earnings. And much more! Bluehost (The domain and hosting company that I recommend as an affiliate) My Resources Page (the most profitable page on the blog) My Post about Opt-In Skin The Soft Pitch Pipeline A well-balanced "pipeline" or user experience through your site and your brand, like what's shown above, is exactly what you should shoot for. The better the relationship you have with your audience, the more careful you are about the products that you actually promote, the more you can share about your own experiences with those products and any sort of proof that goes along with it, the softer the sell can be and the more your audience will appreciate your recommendations. Your earnings are a byproduct of how helpful you can be to your audience. ()

 SPI 037: Monetizing in a Hobby Niche—Success Story, Interview Series 3 | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 23:03

In this session of the Smart Passive Income Podcast I'm stoked to feature yet another success story from someone who has built a six-figure business online in a hobby niche that, to be honest, I never thought was possible to make a living from—at least online. Lain Ehmann from LayoutaDay.com shares an amazing story about how she's built an online business in the scrapbooking industry! Beyond her story, she shares a ton of incredibly useful information that I look forward to putting into practice myself someday. In this session you'll learn about: How Lain turned her passion into profit after starting a blog. Her monetization strategies and how much she's earning. How Lain used an "unfair advantage" to make great strides with her business and get ahead of the competition. The most important elements that contributed to her success in the scrapbooking industry, and it was not her artistic talent. The importance of diversification and multiple streams of income. How she's created an online convention for the scrapbooking industry, and why it's so successful. Examples of how Lain is putting my "Be Everywhere" marketing philosophy into practice. Plus a lot more...
