Harmony Through Music Swami Vivekananda's 150th Birth Anniversary Celebrations Over the centuries, Sufiana Qalam - a musical tradition of Islamic mysticism has kept alive the transcendental experiences of many Sufi mystics. Janab Mir Mukhtiyar Ali represent the 26th generation of the Mirasi lineage which preserved the heritage of Sufiana Qalam. Janab Mir Mukhtiyar Ali performed at the Vivekananda Auditorium, Ramakrishna Mission, Delhi on 28th October, 2012. With his unique blend of Rajastani folk, Kabir and Sufi Music, he dazzled the assembled audience. Here is the audio recording of the evening. Srimat Swami Srikaranandaji, Assistant Secretary, Ramakrishna Mission, Belur Math, spoke at the Sarada Auditorium, Ramakrishna Mission, Delhi on 15 Oct 2012. Swami Srikaranandaji touched upon some of the fundamentals of Advaita Vedanta, related how the practice of 'Matri Bhavana' (worship of Personal God as one's mother) can also lead to the same Advaita realization and quoted some of the incidents from Sri Saradadevi's life to illustrate the same. Ustad Rashid Khan (born 1 July 1966) is an Indian classical musician in the Hindustani music tradition. He belongs to the Rampur-Sahaswan gharana, and is the great-grandson of gharana founder Inayat Hussain Khan. He is married to Joyeeta Bose, from the family of Acharya Jagdish Chandra Bose. In a story told in several versions, it appears that Pandit Bhimsen Joshi said at one point, that Rashid Khan was the "assurance for the future of Indian vocal music". He was awarded the Padma Shri, as well as the Sangeet Natak Akademi Award in 2006. As part of the 150th Birth Centenary Celebrations of Swami Vivekananda, Ustad Rashid Khan gave a masterly performance at the newly renovated Vivekananda Auditorium at Ramakrishna Mission, Delhi. Prof. Kiran Walia, Hon'ble Minister for Social Welfare, Government of N.C.T. of Delhi graced the Inauguration of the Renovated Vivekananda Auditorium at the Ramakrishna Mission, Delhi on August 12th, 2012. On this occasion, she also released translated versions of the life and message of Swami Vivekananda, which has been brought out in various languages like Urdu, Kashmiri, Sanskrit, Santhali, Tulu etc.
