Is it realistic to think that a "Independent" black woman would NOT display selfish traits in their | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 02:59:00

GSRT Live Forum Is it realistic to think that a "Independent" black woman would NOT display selfishness traits in their relationship?   Member Question I am a single woman without children, educated, successful within my career, with my own home, and cars. I am dating, and have been told by a few men that they know I'm independent, but I am also "selfish". Selfish because I'm 32 and I've never been married(engaged but he cheated and a child was produced from that) and I don't have any children. I never said that I didn't want to have children. I am just goal oriented and growing up I was focused on school and being productive in my career field. Now that I'm back on the dating scene, which I have been for a few years I've come across men with too many children for my standards, married men, and men that expect me to take care of them. There has also been a few decent guys, but there wasn't any chemistry, mental stimulation, or physical attraction. So when did setting goals and accomplishing them versus bringing a child into this world not financially, mentally, or emotionally ready become negative? What makes me "selfish"?  3 reasons why BLACK relationships FAIL; Vulnerabilities, jealousy, and INSECURITIES. | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 02:23:00

GSRT Live Forum   Why do men and women get into these relationships projecting this healthy image of themselves (the rep) and once you get into a relationship with them the green monster comes out of her/him (jealousy). Or all of these insecurities suddenly come out and everyone is walking on eggshells not to say the wrong thing for fear of an argument or a blow-up? And how come these very people that complain about their significant others insecurities never TRY to understand their mates vulnerabilities?  Dating a Married/Separated Man: Do you listen to his words or his actions? | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 03:01:00

Dating a Married/Separated Man: Do you listen to his words or his actions? Sponsored by Benita's Natural Spa product's..Item of the week Aromatherapy Gift set. What do you think about a guy who wants to share everything with you but himself? He says that after his divorce he is not trying to rush into a relationship.  Which is more than fair as I am not particularly looking to rush into something with a divorced father of two with financial issues. But I like him.  He calls daily and wants to share his ups and downs, tells me his fears, seeks encouragement and comfort, wants to celebrate accomplishments and everything that you do with a mate.  Offers comfort and advice and listens to me.  He takes me out on the regular.  I look forward to hearing from him. On the other hand, he is so afraid of a relationship that I have to watch how I phrase things so that he won't freak out. I say something and he tells me that he thinks I am wonderful and perfect for him and so on and so on.  Yet he wants me to date other people and I do.  But he doesn't want to hear about when I do and this last time when I said I had company he continued to call and text the whole time.  Am I missing something here, do you listen to his words or his actions? Tonights guests will be Relationship and Sex expert. Steve "The Dean" Williams. Artist Peace the Soul Survivor who released his new  single Peace by Peace.

How to tell the difference between a needy women and women with needs.. | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 02:08:00

GSRT Live Forum How can you tell the difference between a needy women and women with needs? Sponsored by Benitas Health Spa Products Member Question: I was informed by a good friend that I was confusing being needy with having needs. And when I think about it makes a lot of sense, because I didn’t really want anything over-the-top from him. I just wanted to know that my love was appreciated and for him to show me that I was important to him too. Didn’t get that, didn’t even get a call on my birthday. I had never really differentiated between the two terms before, but I do know that I’ve heard women being called needy left and right by their exes and love interests. Some of them I think actually were needy when I think about it. But others seem like they were merely expecting, ya know, a relationship where their man actually helps to maintain it. There are needy men and women out there, but it seems as though the word needy is used as a blanket statement against women, and no woman wants to ever be thought of as needy and some of us will try to avoid it at all costs. So I ask, what is the definition of a needy woman? And how can you tell the difference between a needy women and women with needs? Special Guest: Mrs. Marley Ariyahu will be discussing her organic bath and beauty product line entitled "Beauty of Tziyon Organics" and the importance of organic living.

How important is it to be best friends with your significant other? | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 02:12:00

GSRT live forum Member Question: Do you think husband and wife should be best friends? I see a lot of my married friends saying their husband is their best friend. I have been married for 5 years now, but I don't think my husband is my best friend. He is my husband. My best friend has been my best friend since 2nd grade. Sometimes I feel like women just say that to make their relationship sound better than what it is. What are Your thoughts?  REAL Money talk for healthy relationships/marriage feat. The Debt Shepherd | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 02:43:00

GSRT Live forum Real Money talk for healthy relationship/marriage Featuring The Debt Shepard Why money causes the most conflict in a relationship/marriage and HOW to deal with it? Also Suppose you have been dating someone for a few months..When is it okay to ask about their finances and credit? Do you wait until things are serious and you are talking about marriage or something? Member Question of the week: I'm dating a woman with kids. Although I realize it's a package deal, and if I accept her, I have to accept her kids too. I aint got no problem with that. And if we're in this together, I dont mind helping her out from time to time. I know thats what a real man is supposed to do. But at the same token, just because we're in a relationship, I feel that doesn't relieve the biological father of his financial obligations/responsibilities towards his kids. If she asks me for something, I dont mind giving it to her, but sooner or later, I'm going to ask her, "What is their father doing?"....Just because we're in a sexual relationship, I dont know why in the hell women automatically expect the man to take care of some kids that aint his, and she doesn't ask the biological father for anything. Is this fair? She says that I'm being cheap and unreasonable. Mature Talk for Mature Times, this is an open dialogue for Men and Women of all ages, open communication and straight forward talk.  Does a womans attitude drive away GOOD men? | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 02:01:00

Does a woman's attitude drive away a good man? Join us as we delve into this question as well as this members post on this topic.. As an african american woman I have had some white male friend tell me that they are afraid or are not interested in some black woman because of their ATTITUDE! it turns them off. My fiancee who is Caucasian says he approached me because he loved the fact that I was reserved and with a great attitude. I feel like if some black women repeat SOME (don't come at me for generalizing I say SOME!!) would relax and not be so uppity and rude or come of that way maybe there would not be a problem. That's one thing that annoys me the unnecessary attitude its not necessary! relax...no need to have your guard up all the time.? It bothers me. Of course not all black women are like this but the ones who are need to realize that they are causing trouble for themselves and driving GOOD men away! What are your thoughts?  Let sleeping dogs lie -interview with Poet Aisiah Williams | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 02:02:00

GSRT Live forum What are the effects of keeping secrets in the black family? Why do black families still have the attitude of “let sleeping dogs lie?" When is it time to wake them up?? Research provided by Poet Aisiah Williams shows that black families where multiple relatives, and/or multiple generations of relatives have been subjected to sexual/physical abuse, about 60% of the time, one or more family members knew it was happening, knew the perpetrator had a history of abusing others, but did not report it. Also, tonight after the presidential debates, we will have an open conversation about what we thought of the debates...
