GLMX #63: The One and Only Perfect Gift | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 784

The perfect gift! You would like to receive it. You would like to give it. You read the ads; you look through the catalogs. Unfortunately, there is no perfect gift—at least not in any store. There is only one perfect gift. It gives more happiness than any other gift. It is so deep that it endures through the worst of times. It has meaning for every age and in every situation. The perfect gift is a personal relationship with Jesus, the only son of God. + Plus, listen to Jars of Clay singing "The Little Drummer Boy"

GLMX #62: Jesus is the Light of Christmas | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 743

John 8:12 reads, "I am the light of the world. He who follows Me shall not walk in darkness, but have the light of life." If there is one truth that leaps out at us from the pages of Scripture at Christmas, it is this: Jesus came to be the Light of the world! Light came into this dark world when Jesus was born in Bethlehem. Christmas is about light! We love to sing the Christmas carol, "Silent Night." But this great hymn is not about night or darkness. It's about the Light. The third stanza of "Silent Night" says, "Son of God, love's pure light. Radiant beams from Thy holy face, with the dawn of redeeming grace." We sing another Christmas carol, "Hark! The Herald Angels Sing." The last stanza invites us to "Hail the heaven-born Prince of Peace! Hail the Son of righteousness! Light and life to all He brings, risen with healing in His wings." We sing at Christmas because we have something to sing about! Light has come into the world, and we don't ever need to walk in darkness again! + Plus, listen to Casting Crowns singing "Silent Night"

6 Reasons Why Jesus is So Precious (Part 1) | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 2012

Sunday Evening Evangelistic Message #35 In the first message of this two-part Christmas series, Daniel Whyte III talks about three reasons why Jesus Christ is precious to us. 1. Jesus is precious because His name is precious. His name is precious because it is a personal name, it is a powerful name, and it is a permanent name. 2. Jesus is precious because He is precious to the Father. 3. Jesus is precious because of His work. Plus, listen to Ricky Dillard and New G as they sing "Joy to the World" and Casting Crowns singing "O Come All Ye Faithful".

Tyler Perry: 'I Wouldn't be Where I Am Today Without My Faith in Jesus Christ' (Gospel Light Minute #31) | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 741

He is no doubt one of the most talented persons living today. He is an actor, director, playwright, entrepreneur, screenwriter, producer, author, and songwriter. He is the baddest man in entertainment. He wrote and produced many stage plays over the past two decades. In 2005, he released his first film, Diary of a Mad Black Woman. Since then he has produced other well-known plays and movies including: Madea's Family Reunion, Daddy's Little Girls, Meet the Browns, Why Did I Get Married?, I Can Do Bad All By Myself, and his latest Good Deeds. As of June 2011, his films had grossed over $500 million worldwide. Family, faith, and forgiveness are recurring themes in his movies, television shows, and books. In 2011, Forbes named him the highest paid man in entertainment, earning $130 million between May 2010 and 2011. Growing up in an abusive home, his mother took him to church each week and it is here that he sensed a certain refuge and contentment. He says of his faith, "My faith is extremely important. I am a Christian, I am a believer, and I know had I not been a person of faith, I couldn't be here in this place, and I wouldn't be walking the path that I'm on now. And I think the greater good of the path I'm on now is to teach people to learn to forgive and move on, in a way that's done through the healing power of humor. Because of my faith in God, because of my love and my belief--everything in my life, no matter how bad, work together for my good. His name is Tyler Perry.

GLMX #61: The Unspeakable Gift -- Promised, Given, and Accepted | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 1150

2 Corinthians 9:15 reads, "Thanks be unto God for his unspeakable gift." Once again it is the season for the giving of gifts. In the atmosphere of secrecy, love and thoughtfulness combine to plan surprises of delight. The home is aglow with fervent expectancy, as something desired—something needed—is carefully selected, wrapped and hidden away until the day arrives. In it all, however, there is a fresh reminder of God's eternal plan of love to meet the dire need of man's soul, and provide THE BEST GIFT to completely satisfy and delight his heart. This is the gift of unspeakable worth. This is God's gift of eternal life. Romans 6:23 says, "For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord." + Plus, listen to Newsboys singing "O Holy Night"

GLMX #60: Why This is a Season of Great Joy | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 1353

Christmas is a season of great joy. But what is the real meaning of Christmas? Christmas is when we celebrate the birth of the Christ child. Jesus was born so one day the price could be paid for the things we have done that are wrong. It’s that time of year again. December has come and with it all the joys of Christmas. But what is the real meaning of Christmas? Is it the gifts under the tree, the lights in the windows, the cards in the mail, turkey dinners with family and friends, snow in the yard, stockings hanging in the living room, and shouts of “Merry Christmas” to those who pass us in the streets? Is this really Christmas? For many people, Christmas is a time of sorrow. They don’t have the extra money to buy presents for their children, family, and friends. Many are saddened at Christmastime when they think of their loved ones who will not be able to come home for various reasons. Yet Christmas can be a season of great joy. Christmas is when we celebrate the birth of the Christ child. God sent His Son, Jesus, into the world to be born. His birth brought great joy to the world. Shepherds, wise men, and angels all shared in the excitement of knowing about this great event. They knew He was no ordinary baby. The prophets had told of His coming hundreds of years before. The star stopped over Bethlehem just to mark the way for those who were looking for this special child.

GLMX #59: Wise People Still Seek Christ | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 774

Shepherds gathered their flowing robes to hurry to Him; the Magi braved deserts and mountains to find Him; in the blazing noonday sun a defeated Samaritan woman came to Him; a skeptic exclaimed, “my Lord and my God” when he found Him. And today millions on every continent acknowledge with the Apostle Paul that He is “the Son of God, who loved me, and gave Himself for me”. Wise men still seek Him; and those who seek find more than they ever imagined. For in Jesus Christ, and Him alone, are to be found forgiveness, inward peace, joy in life today, and the promises of life eternal. The Magi found Him as a young child with Mary His mother. We find Him today as the living Christ, clothed with glory and honor and seated at the right hand of His Father in heaven. He is there because He finished the work He came to do on earth. Of His coming, the Bible says in Philippians 2:7-11, “He was made in the likeness of men: and… He humbled Himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross. Wherefore God also hath highly exalted Him… that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow… and confess that Jesus Christ is Lord”. While it is true that wise men still seek Him, it is more wonderfully true that He still seeks us--whoever we may be. Now, today, from His place in the heavenlies comes His divine invitation in Revelation 3:20: “Behold, I stand at the door and knock: if any man hear My voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him and he with Me”. + Plus, listen to Hillsong singing "We Three Kings"
