United We Drink
Summary: I would like to welcome everyone to United We Drink. We will be bringing you a new audio podcast every 2 weeks with beer related news, events and banter from the national, southeastern regional and South Florida local spot lights. Phil and I have been maintaining our own individual beer blogs for sometime now. But with United We Drink we plan on bringing people together to enjoy craft beer. We look forward to sharing all this information with you and hopefully can bring in some special guests from time to time.
The guys have a bunch of local news including Due South's Anniversary Party and Funky Buddha's production brewery opening. Plus do you think a brewing video/computer game is possible?
United We Drink is back with a new release day (every other Wednesday). The guys discuss Lagunitas delay in opening a Chicago taproom, Sweetwater announces distribution in South Florida, Larry Bell possibly opening a new brewery, did any hyped beers live up to the hype and much more. Plus Drink/Cellar/Spill, Last Calls and more!
It's that time of the year again. Time to find out which beer mascot reigns supreme in an all out battle for supremacy.
Back from being sick they guys recap the madness of Hunahpu Day. Plus the 2012 numbers for craft beer are out. Sweetwater is expanding their distribution into South Florida and Mississippi legalizes homebrewing.
Former co-host Phil stops by to help us reveal the tap listing for Hunahpu Day 2013. A United We Drink Exclusive!
On this latest episode of United We Drink, Mike and Joel discuss the lawsuit against Budweiser for allegedly watering down their beer, where you can find the new Due South/Cigar City collaboration this weekend, and the guys cover a few west coast events leading up to the big Hunahpu Day March 9th along with some exclusive info on special guest taps that day.
On this episode the guys speak out about the new "IPA" glass from Dogfish Head and Sierra Nevada. Plus New Belgium and Founders are opening new territories. Are they coming near you? Plus Hunahpu's Day details. This and much more.
On this episode the guys wrap up all that was South Florida Beer Week and the Jupiter Craft Brewers Fest. They take a look at one retailers views on "craft vs crafty." And Dogfish Head is up to it again with a crazy idea.
The votes have been tallied and it's time to announce the winners of the UWD Awards. Then the guys spotlight South Florida Beer Week 2013.
The nominees for the United We Drink Awards are announced. Plus news on Hopslam and a Red Swingline stapler.
The guys talk about the craze that was Westy 12 and touch a little on the "black market" of beer as well. Also there are a number of Florida local events you should know about. Plus Drink/Cellar/Spill and your Last Calls.
On this episode we talk about all the news that broke in the time since the last episode and it's an awful lot. Plus we debut a new segment and much more.
Mike welcomes occasional guest Joel AKA Brewkkake as he steps in to be the new UWD co-host following Phil's departure. As always, the guys cover some local and national beer news and upcoming events. Tune in to find out who won the final Kodpiece round and if Mike retained his lead score over Phil. Also, you'll hear about pot legalization in the beer mecca of Colorado and its implications in brewing, Mike's tale of pouring at a beer fest, Joel's highly insensitive idea for a Total Recall beer, the usual technical glitches, and in "Last Call" you'll hear what Joel's thankful for this Thanksgiving and what's pissing off Mike post-election. And for you beer traders, find out what Mike and Joel are offering up and seeking in the new segment "ISO:FT".
This is a very special episode as it will be the final one for Phil as a co-host of the show. We hit on a few topics but mostly bullshit about our time on the show. United We Drink will be going on and Phil will always be a part of the show.
We are joined by Casey "Evil Twin" Phipps as Phil is out for this episode. We hype up the Treasure Coast Beer Fest this weekend as well as talk about news from Woodchuck, Upland, Craft Brewers Alliance and more.
