Mouse Chat Disney Radio - A Disney Radio Show by Disney Fans for Fans   Disney Cruise Line Must Do Disney Wonder We are on the Disney Wonder for a 7 night Disney Cruise. Yes it's exciting and Lisa and I along with Amber and Brooke had a Wonderful time! If you have not been on a Disney Cruise or have not been on the Disney Wonder please listen to our Mouse Chat radio show before you book. We cover the MUST SEE Disney Cruise Line items for the Disney Wonder. First I have to say a 7 day Disney Cruise is the perfect length. You get to know your way around the ship, make friends with other travelers at dinner and while playing some of the fun Disney activities on the ship and of course your kids will make life long friends in the different kids clubs. You also get to know your servers and the crew on board. A 3 or 4 night Disney Cruise is of course nice but you definitely get to totally relax and get in the Disney vacation zone on a longer cruise. Disney Cruise Line Tip #1: Book Palo If you have not already booked Palo for dining with your travel agent, you need to do this as soon as you walk on the ship. Palo is Disney's specialty restaurant. It is $25 per person up charge and for adults only. It is well worth the $25. They are open for dinner all nights and a brunch on sea days. Both are amazing but dinner is the better value and watching the sun set from Palo while relaxing over an amazing filet and chocolate souffle is priceless. Disney will save some slots for reservations for last minute bookings. When you board the ship head to the lounge to book your Palo reservations. On the Disney Wonder this is at Wave Bands at this time. Disney Cruise Line Tip #2: Pirate Night Disney Cruise Line has "Pirate Night" on all its cruise ships. This is a blast and families really get into this. So be sure to bring on some pirate garb with you. The evening starts with families dressed up at Dinner and then heading out to the Pirate Party on the deck. The party can be seen on deck 9 and 10 around the main pool / stage area and then concludes with the only fireworks at sea show. This event can go until about 10:15 PM and also keeps going with a Pirate late night buffet a full spread of food, even Turkey Legs and awesome desserts. So get some rest so you can stay up for all these activities on Pirate Night. Disney Cruise Line Tip #3: The Disney Shows Disney Cruise Line has award winning shows. Depending on your dinner time you will either have a show time that is before or after your dinner. The stage shows are not to be missed, especially "Disney Dreams" on the Disney Wonder. Also there are several unique acts for adults and families in the clubs and theaters like comedians, magicians, etc. How to save on a Disney Cruise: Book early. Disney Cruise Line prices increase the closer you get to the sail date. So booking early is the best way to save. Also if you are on a Disney Cruise Book on board and give the Cruise Booking Desk your travel agents information. This way you get a 10% discount and an on board ship credit and also you will get to still use your travel agent that will take care of everything and can keep you in the loop if there are other activities or specials you should be aware of. We recommend using an Authorized Disney Vacation Planner. This is a travel agency that has been award this designation from the Walt Disney Company for meeting standards Disney has set to obtain this recognition. Mouse Chat listener questions Do I need a Disney Resort ID to ride Disney Resort Transportation? - Your documentation might say you do, but it's not manageable to check every guests Disney Resort ID.  So the quick answer is No, you don't need your key to the world card to ride the bus, monorail and boats. But you will want to bring it, or your Magic Bands so you can charge, use FastPass+, etc. Can you pool Hop at Disney World? - No, you can not pool hop unless you are a DVC member.  Also some resorts even DVC members can not pool hop at due to restrictions. FYI You can pool hop at Universal Studio hotels in Orlando. Best Place for Sushi at Walt Disney World? - California Grill and also Bob has a great off property place. Disney Free Dining, will it be coming back in 2014? - It's hard to tell what Disney promotions and offers will come out.  Of course Disney Free Dining is an extremely popular offer. With resort occupancy going up we feel that offers like Free Dining "could" be reduced or go away.  We all will have to wait and see. Look at Disneyland.  The resort are full since Carsland opened and thus Discounts at Disneyland has practically all gone away.  With Magic bands / My Magic Plus coming to Disney World you could see higher occupancy and less discounts. Shelly May, Duffy has a girl friend. - Duffy's squeeze is Shelly May.  Sorry you can only buy them in Japan. What Walt Disney Attractions would you like to see get a Holiday Overlay? - Soarin is Lisa's idea - Small World at WDW - Space Mountain at WDW would be nice with a holiday overlay - Toy Story Midway Mania - Monorail Wrap - Frozen Monorail wrap Solo Trip to Walt Disney World, should I buy a Park Hopper Ticket? - Chris says buy the Disney Park Hopper because it gets you the flexibility to go to several parks for dining, shows, etc. For a solo adult it's nice to park hop. Vegetarian Meals at Disney World (EPCOT) - Where can you get a vegetarian meal at World Showcase.  We attempt to answer this on this weeks show. Almost everyplace has a vegetarian option, and we try to recommend a few.  Also ALLEars.net has all the menus that you can look over before you go. Disney Fastpass+ Updated News This week we have more news on Disney's Fastpass+ system.  Changes to how you get fastpasses and some updates from the Disney parks on when FastPasses are running out by. Also we have more news about FastPass+ testing out which attractions and rides you can pre-book.  One idea floating around is ranking Disney attractions, kind of like the old E Tickets.  The idea is that you get to book one "E Ticket" attraction with FastPass+ when you schedule ahead of time and Two other rides and attractions.  These Other rides and attractions would be equivalent to A-D ticket attractions.  There are some stories being posted that testing for this will begin November 1.  As more information comes out on FastPass+ changes and testing we will let you know about them.  I would expect several different tests like this until Disney get the right mix. Glow with the show at WDW premiered at Fantasmic. These are a special pair of Disney Mickey Ears you can buy and wear.  They light up in sync to several Walt Disney World and Disneyland shows.  So Wishes at Disney World, World of Color at Disneyland, the Castle show at Disney World and Fantasmic and Disney World.  The Mickey ears are $25. Jingle Cruise Yes the Famous Jungle Cruise is turning into the Jingle Cruise at Disney World and Disneyland for the holidays.  We will be riding it in a few days and will report back with an update, but it sounds like a fun idea. Downtown Disney Valet Parking  Now - January 1, 2014 there is Valet Parking at Downtown Disney 4PM - 2AM $15.00 plus gratuity. This might be worth it especially with the construction at Downtown Disney and Holiday shopping. I believe the drop off spot is over by Cirque like it has been in the past. Parking garages should be complete in 2015, which will be very nice and help with the parking issues at Downtown Disney. Mouse Chat Disney Radio - A Disney Radio Show by Disney Fans for Fans Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party - Don't Miss these 3 things Don your favorite costume and get ready to trick-or-treat at this years Halloween-themed event in Magic Kingdom park—on select nights from 7:00 PM to midnight, September 10 to November 1, 2013! If you have a Disney World vacation planned for these dates in the Fall, Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party is a great special event to add on to one of your vacation dates. The party is just that, Not So Scary. It's a fun time for the entire family and the party is decorated for Halloween. Main Street USA is decorated with unique jack-o-lanterns above each and every shop and some of them are pretty funny. 3 Things Not To Miss at Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party: 1. The Halloween Parade We all agree, even us that don't like Parades, that you must see this Disney Parade. The parade happens twice, so pick a time and get there at least 10 minutes early if you want an OK spot, or 30 Minutes if you are trying for one of the Main Street USA locations. Oh and make sure you are on time to see the Headless Horseman ride. 2. The Hallo-Wishes Fireworks Display These are the best fireworks Disney does all year. Yes better than Wishes, 4th of July, etc. They music, story, and displays of firewaorks are amazing. You can see these from pretty much any location that you can see the castle, or even behind the castle in the New Fantasyland area. We normally watch them from Main Street USA with the crowd. If you go to the second Halloween Parade just stay put, stand up, and enjoy the fireworks right after the parade concludes. 3. Pick one or all (Special Character Meet N Greets, Short lines at all Attractions, Character Dance parties, or load up on candy when you Trick Or Treat.) Mouse Chat Disney Radio - A Disney Radio Show by Disney Fans for Fans Back from our Mouse Chat Meet Up We are all back from our Mouse Chat meet up at Walt Disney World. We had an amazing time. From meeting everyone on Friday the 13th at Disney Hollywood Studios, to the Magic Kingdom Scavenger Hunt, and the end at EPCOT World Showcase. All three days of events were a blast. The Villains Weekend at DHS was PACKED and Disney had transportation issues which made it impossible for thousands of guests to get to DHS. But even with the transportation issues everyone at the VIP Dessert Party got in ahead of the crowds via a special backstage entrance and we had a very nice view of the sold out Fantasmic show, with loads of desserts, wrapping up the night with Star Tours, Muppets and one of the most amazing fireworks shows ever was icing on the cake. I was amazed and honored that everyone came to our Mouse Chat events. It was so cool to meet everyone and spend these days in the parks together. Really I can't express in words how awesome that was and I know all of us at Mouse Chat talk about how wonderful it was to meet and enjoy Disney together. So yes we are planning our next meet up. Actually we have one coming up. Mouse Chat Food and Wine meet up at EPCOT. When: Saturday Nov 9  11:00 AM Where: EPCOT Spaceship Earth What: Come dine with us around the World Showcase and taste different samples during the EPCOT International Food and Wine Festival. If your lucky we might even do a group photo with Duffy. Since Steve will probably not be able to attend there will be no free hugs. :( Cost: Free, you just need to have your own Disney Park Admission and some spending money to buy what you want to try. The new system, Disabled Assistance System, (DAS) will be into effect Oct 9, 2013. We cover some of the changes that we have heard about.
