The Easiest Way to Learn the Tarot--EVER!!

Cathy, one of my private students, was kind enough to let me record a mini-lesson to use as a podcast. We covered how to ask the right questions, how to elicit the information you need from your clients so that you can ask the best questions, and how to figure out exactly what question you should be asking in the first place to give world-class readings. Amanda agreed to sit down and have a private lesson recorded. We covered quite a few things (the 30 minute podcast ran 1 hour and 15 minutes!) but essentially we addresses how to overcome the doubt monster: what happens when your yappy voice (conscious awareness) tries to convince you that you can't read, or it tries to take over the job of your intuition, or it overanalyzes the cards and demands information instantly. These happen to ALL of us. There is no regulated system of training tarot readers to battle the cynicism of the logical mind in its attempts to prove that this is all real (or not).  This is why I created the exercises and the games in the books (you know which ones by now) and I take Amanda by the hand in this episode and help her overcome this prroblem--AND--I help her to understand the process, so that she never has to fear it again, and she can help other as well. Of course I do all of this on three hours of sleep after pulling an all-nighter working on the new astrology book. So, in other words, I ramble a bit and go off on tangents.   A fun ride all around. I had Becky on again, as she is being trained to teach. We talked about significators in great detail: what they are, how and WHY (and when) to use them. We talked about HOW to choos a significator and the differences between single, double, and multiple significators, and three different ways of using them. Take notes. This is a quick but deep study into how the pros get the results we do. Then we went over a concept I teach to all of my prviate students, but not the public (until now), called the spread protagonist (or prtagonista! depending on the time of day I am explaining it). This is revolutionary and not used nearly enough. I want everyone in the world to start using spread protagonists and as a result give far more accurate readings. Hey everybody! Tidal Miller, known to the public as "Tarot Tidal" is one of my students who came to me early on in their tarot studies and has gone on to become a Tarot professional. He reads for clients regularly, has his own radio show, and frequently appears at other people's venues as well. Becky, Kelly, and I sat down and yapped for half an hour about how to blend cards. This covers exercises 8 and 9 from The Easiest way to Learn the Tarot--EVER!! and the first new exercise from Advanced Tarot Secrets.  We had a few unexpected moments where both Becky and Kelly showed me some real spine and illustrated how being a reader is more than just flipping cards. Bah! It seems that everyone and their dog reads cards these days. Phone hotlines, reasings by video cam, chat, email. Technology is not to blame, it is a lack of proper training. The bad news is that there are TONS of untrained readers out there making YOU look bad because they make the industry look bad. The GOOD news is that this creates an opportunity for you to make $10, $20, $40, $50, even $100 an hour sitting on your butt, telling people your oipinion. In fact, the very best readers in the world charge over $1,000 an hour -- and they get it. In fact, some of them are booked solid for months.  How can you do this? Well, that's what I rant about in this episode. I skipped last week so this was a double episode. Becky and Diane sat in as I talked about what too many readers do wrong, and the simple things you can do "right now" to stand out. This is free. You do not have to spend any money. As you know by now, I am adamant on giving quality information to your clients: friends, family, strangers who pay . . . I ranted a bit about how to set up the spread--how to find out what the client wants to know and how to rephrase their question if necessary so that you can give them the RIGHT information, not some useless fluff. Too many people get bad readings from untrined "professionals" and it gives all of us a bad name. This is why I give you free instruction. I need all off us to do better and give better results.
