Welcome to the 12th filmwasters video podcast. This is a ‘pinhole special’ episode featuring yet another review of an ILFORD camera, this time the Obscura Pinhole, and a variety of pinhole shots from the filmwasters crew. A big thanks to Paul Mitchell for reviewing the camera for us, and of course to ILFORD Photo for supplying the camera once again.

This special edition of the filmwasters video podcast features the new Harman Titan 8×10 pinhole camera. Leon got his hands on a pre-release camera to put through its paces and see what this over-sized beastie can do.

This 10th video podcast comes with a multitude of apologies to all those involved in the various recordings … most of which took part late in 2011/ early in 2012! This episode includes footage from the UK Filmwasters Large Format Meetup in Broadstairs, Focus on imaging 2012 and the Silverprint Christmas open day in December 2011. If we’ve learned one thing, its that we occasionally need a rocket set under us to get anything done – feel free to light the fuse as and when necessary. The next one won’t take so long – we promise.

Welcome to the eighth Filmwasters video podcast. The wonderful people at the ILFORD Photo factory have kindly loaned us their HARMAN TiTAN pinhole camera to review. As soon as Leon saw the box, he knew he was in for some fun times! Also, Filmwasters-regular Francois Laverdure shows how to build a budget darkroom and Leon shows some of the trials of being a mushroom photographer.

Note: Interview with Steven starts at around 6 minutes 30 seconds. It’s been 11 long months since the last Filmwasters audio podcast, but we’re back with a bang as Leon interviews one of Ilford Photo’s head honchos, Steven Brierley, about the future of analogue photography. I’d write more, but if you’re an trad photo person then you already have the best reason on the planet to go and give this a listen.

Our seventh video podcast features an extended report from a little insider event in London called, Photographica 2011. Loads of us went along and we had a fantastic time. Before that though the podcast covers Ed’s visit to the London Street Photography exhibition at the Museum of London, a nail-biting finish for the Filmwasters Pub Quiz team & a seaside ‘photo walk’ with Woody the Dog & Leon the Human. The fourth video podcast from the Filmwasters features a slump-busting trip to Northern France as our intrepid contributor overcomes her fear of photographing strangers in the street. There’s a tutorial on how to load two rolls of 120 film onto a single developer reel and we finish off with a look back at our trip earlier this year to London’s annual Photographica camera fair. In what must qualify as our first ‘serious’ podcast, Ed is joined by Matt Wells from AG Photographic & Bath-based photographer, Phil Bebbington, for the first of 2 podcasts. This episode focuses almost entirely on Matt’s thoughts and experiences from working in the photo retail industry. He’s knowledgeable and enthusiastic about the future of film. Ed & Phil supply the background colour. The next episode will profile Phil and his work and continue the debate about the future of film.

Ed, Leon, Damion & Ailsa wrap up the Filmwasters’ return to podcasting after an absence of 8 months with part two of We’ve Been Bad, But We’re Back. This final instalment brings you a discussion of the recent Lillian Bassman exhibition in London, speculation that there may finally be a cool-looking digital camera on the market and the revelation that some of Ailsa’s friends leave her voicemails after having sex. Because we were a bit light on content for this episode, we contacted The Other Side and asked Arthur Fellig (aka Weegee), Ed’s spiritual guide through the world of photography to chip in from time to time with some anecdotes from way back in the day.   Go to Google to see more Lillian Bassman images online.
