With all the summer festivals coming to a close in Oz , we've been treated to some of the biggest and best live groups and dj acts the world has to offer, Ritchie Hawtin, Chemical Brothers, Sasha ect just to name a few. Apologies go out to my listeners of the show for the lack of episodes during February, but i was unable to produce these due to bereavement reasons from a loss of a very close friend, so this episode i would like to dedicate to my best friend Marc MacVicar who passed away. With a musical background that pushes back further than a decade, including an extensive knowledge of guitar, piano and orchestra compositions, Cameron Cooper-Payten – Coopa, is quickly turning the heads of the dance industry he’s just barely scratched the surface of... Born in Sydney’s Eastern Suburbs, Coopa’s rise in the dance music industry in the last six months has definitely not gone unnoticed. With a great advantage of near perfect pitch plus over a decade of hands-on musical experience, live and in the studio, his seamless beat-matching and in-key mixing is just the start of what this passionate boy brings to the table through his energetic and well arranged sets. Cameron started his musical finesse at the age of seven, playing through a range of orchestral instruments and the piano. Through his early music years as a teenager, Cameron was in and out of various rock bands, playing at high-school competitions, gigs throughout Sydney and even getting as far as signing a Sony/BMI contract, and has supported some of Australia’s biggest bands, such as Grin spoon, Jet, and even Powderfinger. His well educated status as a guitarist/pianist/singer-songwriter has given him a great advantage to move towards the dance scene and to use his knowledge to create great versatile sets and productions, branching well out from house music and mixing in a range of Electro-House, Tech House, Progressive House and even Trance. He believes that productions and sets shouldn’t be about just the one element, but to capture and enhance your sets by creating a versatile environment, his usual saying, ‘Let the music grow...’ 
No set seems to lacks substance when Coopa gets a hold of the floor. His motivational goal is simple and effective, to get the crowd to feel the exact same emotions running through him, which has made Coopa such a quick successor in the music industry. Currently studying at Australia’s premium university for music, The Australian Institute of Music, Cameron’s education includes the most accredited and fundamental techniques of Composition and Music Production, with Film/TV Producer Greg White, Scott Saunders, audio wizard Jason De-Wilde and Hip-Hop DJ Sensation Nick Toff. He has already started bringing out near-polished remixes and his original productions are on their way. His current monthly mixes; Coopa: Sessions has been a fantastic success, running for over two years, which has produced creditable feedback from American DJ Darryl Von Rokk, US Radio website InSoulWeTrust, Blog website engine Hype-M, and several of Australian Djs/Producers.
