Well Hello Freaks ... last nights show was full of love, laughs, great cuts, neck-snappin', and plenty of good times. We all know how hard it is getting your pep back after a few nice days off for the holidays; let's face it, for most people it's back to a grind when we could've used just a few more days off. Well Freaks, once again the end of another year is at our doors knocking to be let out ... Which is pretty fine with most of us over here; a new beginning is always something to look forward to, right? So to celebrate making it through another year I thought we all could use that special something to boogie straight into 2013 with; an exclusive gift for the BCH listeners from Mr. Paul Johnson. You all know the story of the self-taught super Producer who came up in Chicago and did numerous tracks for Chicago House labels like Undaground Therapy, Peacefrog, Dance Mania, Relief, DJax Up Beats, Cajual, Moody, Nite Life, and Defected. You also know that he was responsible for a track called "Get Get Down"; the backdrop for chomping-at-the-bit dancers in nightclubs across the world for years; which went on to be the first House track to claim #1 on the Billboard Hot Dance Club Play chart - holding steady for 18 weeks, plus securing a spot in the top-5 all-time for the UK dance scene. And unless you've been under a rock for the last 20 years  - which is totally cool if you have! We LOVE rocks! - you also know he started and owned Dust Traxx (a label of which I'm proud to have called "home" at one point, thanks Paul and Radik!), has worked with numerous artists, traveled the world at least triple times, and came back harder and even more determined after a severe car wreck in 2010 to reclaim his rightful home behind the decks. He's a legend; period. And he still makes the masses - the loyal and new generations of chomping-at-the-bit dancers - get get down. Mad LOVE to PJ for stopping through and making our end-out so special, and nothing but respect! For the past 4 Christmas’ BCH has been stuffin’ your stockings with next-level treats from DJs like Chicken George, Miss Kai, Matthew Kyle, and Leonard Trujillo .  It ain’t House Music; however, it bounces, gives hella’ groove, and is wicked hot feel-good! For your 2nd stuffed stocking we're gifting a mix from BCHs newest resident, Ed Marco. By now you know he's a kick-ass House DJ, but for this series I thought it would be cool for you to hear what this guys actually capable of. Here's a run-down on the guy himself: He's been at this since the 90's playing warehouse and unit parties in Scotland, and held a residency at the Village Lantern in New York City in 2000; he plays along the likes of Derrick Carter , Jason Hodges, and Mark Farina to name a few, and since 2008 has practically made Fiasco Events a household name from Scotland to Ibiza and Switzerland, New York and San Francisco - not forgetting the Motherland, Chicago. Ed has been wooing crowds with his unique mixing style, impeccable track selection for well over a decade; and has a jaw-dropping capability to take an audience from listener to sweaty happy dancer. Today we're gifting you his chill, at times sleazy, Jazzy, and f*cking sexy (if I say so myself) mix. It's wicked for long drives to scoop the relatives through Holiday traffic, chilling around having dessert and spicy drinks, and especially for when the family's left and it's just you and your honey, the glow of the tree and one hell of a comfortable couch. Good morning Freaks! This week saw a BCH Resident take-over, and after last week's 13-hour session I think it's safe to say that it was time for one, hey! First up, Chicago-native-born-to-be-a-DJ John Simmons; a true gem from the windy city, who literally has the gene called "DJ" twirling through his DNA. John's offered us a sensual, deep, throw-back, and bumping mix that is perfect for those special Holiday moments by the soft glow of the Christmas tree. Second up we got the one - the only - Big White; an East Coaster by birthright who transplanted to the state of Denver (we are pretty envious too, Big) and is already cutting paths of mountainous journeys with his music! He never fails us, and this mix is especially delicious because it was recorded live at TreeHouse.  Enjoy these two House soldiers that wear their badges proudly; I hope you love them as much as we do! Two special announcements: First: BCH has a new resident in it's mist; I'd like to take this opportunity to introduce you to Ed Marco. This year we've got DJ Sublime kicking off our Holiday stuffers, and, let me be real straight with you, Freaks: Cut after cut, this mix is delivers on so many different levels of fun; so much so, some folks might not be able to comprehend the level of juiciness he's coming from. But first, let's meet Sublime: By the time he decided to DJ in '92 he was well ready; Disco, Funk, early Electro, Freestyle and Hip-Hop had already influenced him and led him to discover House Music at the tail end of the 80's / early 90's. Within a few years he found himself throwing and playing raves and EDM weeklies all over Atlanta, and then leaving it to go into the clubs in '02 and play Hip-Hop/top-40 stuff. But, as with most, his first love called him back and now - 30 years later - he's delivering House, with the cheeky mixes here and there of the classic Rollerboogie Jams that so heavily influenced his life. This mix goes with everything from mashed potatoes to sweet potato pie, or Aunt Maria's Jello-mold to your grandma's tamales (or green bean casserole). The only hint we'll give is this: We hope you got your rollerskates and make-shift dancefloor handy. Cause, honey, one listen to this and the memories from your childhood will start flowing! Ok, can I just start off by saying that the Triple 12 BrickJack Boogie that went down on Wednesday was beyond kick-ass-awesome? Holy crap! What started as a tongue-in-cheek response to peoples social status' blowing out "12-12-12" turned into a 13-hour party in the BCH/JackUmentory studios and the CHFM airwaves, with DJs Menno Overvliet, Ed Marco, Filta Freqz, MrHun, Wayne Brett, and myself. For this mid-week freak I thought it was only right to give it to our honorary guests Ed and Menno; who without I doubt I would've gotten away with throwing a House party on a Wednesday AND hijacking the CHFM airwaves for 13 hours. Hey hey Freaks! Last week saw us dusting off our moonboots, wiping our visors clean, and jumping in to the jaunt-o-matic for our annual ride through the cosmos. And damn, were we NOT disappointed!
