 BCH | Apr 24 2013 | DJ Jung | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 1:12:06

Good Afternoon, Freaks! After a week of sorting out more space for the site, and a buncha' other stuff that my provider required of me, BCH is back up!  So we're two shows behind and starting with where we left off with our friend, brother, and guest DJ, Jung.  If you can't already tell - WE LOVE THIS DOOOD!! - and have been keeping close tabs on him since he left Chicago and moved [back] to the South.  Still busy, booked, and handling business, Jung managed to slip away for a quick catch-up chat before dropping one hot mix that had the folks bouncing.  Of course, I wasn't surprised; Jung always delivers, and never fails to get the dancers up and smiling. Don't forget, you can catch Jung ever Friday night on Chicago House FM with his popular show "Friday Release" at 7pm CST/1am GMT.  I highly recommend this show for those nothing-to-do days, simply for the fact that it'll allow you to absorb the hell outta it!! Enjoy Music and Freak Freely - Sista

 BCH | Apr 17 2013 | 4th Annual 420 Smoke-a-bration | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: Unknown

Good Afternoon, Freaks! I'm still pretty insanely giddy from last night's show, and probably a little fuzzy too ... but I gotta say that last night's BCH Resident take-over was FREAKIN' FANTASTIC!! Kicking off the show with warm deep and techy sounds, CHFM Records Lady-in-charge, Seraphim, didn't hold back on us.  Swelling layers of chords and cool keys, with consistent crispy Hi's, and stabbing moods of feelgood is what you can expect from this decknician's mix, Freaks; Seraphim never fails to get us up!  Next up on the cut was Juiced and H.A.R.D. record label owner, J. Caprice, who sauntered in the BCH booth and threw out the Funk from the jump; showing our feet no mercy!  You can expect feelgood, funky chunky, neck-snappin' goodness from J, and hear for yourself why this DJ is in such high demand.  Due to the overwhelming requests: For those of you that would like the mixes hans-solo, you can download them here. One things for sure, these two go together like peas and carrots when it comes to delivering two hours of boogie.  And I have total faith when I say that this show comes highly recommended for roadtrips, public transportation jaunts across your city, and anywhere that requires one hellova' soundtrack for your journey. We'll see you next week, Freaks! Enjoy Music & Freak Freely, -Sista♥

 BCH | Apr 10 2013 | Ed Marco BCH Resident Debut | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 2:00:09

And now ... a message from our BCH Resident, Ed Marco: So on the 12th of December last year, I was invited to play along side Sista Stroke and MrHun as part if their 12/12/12 party spanning 12 hours on CHFM, including the BCH and Jackumentary shows.  Little did I know that playing along side this hero and heroin of mine, would lead to me being asked to become a BCH resident the next day.  I was so honoured to be invited to join this prestigious family and looked forward to being able to “do my thang” for the BCH fam. After returning from my 5 years of Fiasco US tour on the 7th of April, I was desperately looking forward to getting back on he CHFM airwaves, so was over the moon when Sista Stroke asked me to cover her show on the 10th. I was all ready at 7pm to rock our for two hours, with some of my favourite deep funk tracks (old and new) and at 8:15pm, I got a PM from Mr Hun asking if I would like to cover his show too. YAAAAASSSS!!! I thought, four hours of live uninterrupted housey goodness. At this point, I decided to change to game plan, by pulling out a load of other tracks and my 3rd CDJ to throw in to the mix.  It was great to have so many of my favourite familiar faces in the chatroom and even more exciting to have a couple of CHFM newby’s in there too, popping their CHFM cherry’s.  The recording we have here is of the last two hours which was when the three deck action got started.  Huge love to everyone who tuned in live and of course to Mr Hun and Sista Stroke for having me. I love you guys!! Hope all the BCH fans dig the mix. (Listen out for a cameo shoutout from Mr Hun ) - Ed x Keep up with Ed on Twitter and Facebook, and stay up with his Fiasco Events!  We'll see you next week, Freaks! Enjoy Music and FreakFreely, -Sista♥

 BCH | Apr 3 2013 | DJ V | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: Unknown

Good Afternoon, Freaks and Freakettes! Last week we welcomed a Chi-town legend to the BCH booth, and that man is DJ V (V Smith III). A true Music Lover, picking through his music-mind is one that only the truest music lover/appreciator should delve into; the DJ/Producer/Record Label owner knows his history through various genres, and even those obscure cuts that you remember hearing "back in the day". So when I asked to V to guest on BCH I knew this man would bring only his choicest vinyl cuts; and I was positive that it would take me back to our adventures of hanging in the Smart bar booth, hitting the Music 101 offices, and kicking it like when we both occupied Wicker Park.  Still very much in the game, these days you'll find V holding it down from the label side of the business with Concrete Music Group; which you can expect releases from in April 2013 with some of industry's finest like Karl The Voice, Mr Egg Germ, DJ Jes, Jeff Sharel, and Tim Xavier. Supported with remixes by Charles Spener, LHK, and Daniell Spencer and guests. If you'd like to hear more from V, give his podcast a visit for his latest mixes and weekly Concretecasts, and keep up with him on Twitter and Facebook. Tune in tonight for BCH Resident, Ed Marco, who's stepping in to cover for me while I'm out of the booth. That's tonight, by the way - tune in! Enjoy Music and Freak Freely - Sista♥

Good afternoon, Freaks!! Hope this finds you well, and ready for your weekend ... Here's last week's BCH 1Bitch4Decks, and I hope you enjoy it. Stay tuned, because I'm loading up this week's as we speak! Much love. Enjoy Music and Freak Freely - Sista♥

 BCH | Mar 20 2013 | Demetre Baca | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 2:24:36

Hi Fam and Friends!  This post is a week overdue, and deserves its place to shine ... Meet Demetre Baca; another DJ plucked from the homegrown talent of Portland, OR.  I came across this guy by total chance, and met him while I was on the decks at the city's home of the Underground, Groove Suite. Later, I was able to hear him play a moving all-vinyl set and knew right then and there that I had to ask him to be a guest on BCH. There's not much info to be found on Demetre, as he's an interwebs rebel who would rather be heard through his music than his words.  So enjoy this mix, Fam, Freaks, and Friends ... I know we all did.   Much love; Peace and Freak Freely - Sista♥

 BCH | Mar 13 2013 | Steve Dare | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 2:26:48

Last week's BCH was a real gem for us, Freaks! BCH Res. Nick Dare was unfortunately on holiday and unable to do his slot, so as a favor he asked his brother, Steve Dare, if he would mind commanding the booth as a favor while he'd gone fishing. While we were sad to lose out on Nick this time around, it was our gain, friends .. clearly. For those that don't know, Steve is a DJ/Producer with a mainstay sound that sets him apart from the others.  His releases on Bomb Digital were charted out the roof, and has made him an underground household name - can't hate on that.  I highly recommend you checking out his releases to date, just in case you haven't already.  As a DJ, Steve came in and delivered a mix fit for those trips in the morning, evening, and especially those with no clear destination in mind! I put it to the test around Camden and found myself zoned out by the canal, as I sat and watched tourists go by while enjoying my cold beer. So consider this mix tried, test, and smoked approved. I freakin' LOVED IT! We'll see you next week, Freaks .... Enjoy Music and Freak Freely, Sista

 BCH | Mar 6 | Kreap + our 4th Birthday!! | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 2:12:12

Good evening Freaks!! I'm still on a high from tonights show and still beaming from ear to ear! Most of it is because our special guest, Kreap, absolutely stole the show and left us smiling stupidly and begging for more; and the rest is for all the Freaks that showed up to give their support and love for our 4th Birthday!!  But enough about that ... let's get on to our guest... For one, this guy doesn't come cheap; he requires payments of conversations of sampling, wacked out industry practices, anything Australia, plug-ins, editing, sound and room design for optimal sound imaging, arranging and, yes folks, even songwriting (it should be known that I was all too willing to partake in this too!) - and he discusses each subject with as much knowledge and know-how as any pro because, well, the mutha'funker KNOWS HOW! Kreap is an accomplished producer who has consistently picked-up his game and pushed it further than he thought he could, and then pushes a little more; a true music soldier in our books. His releases have been charted by DJs worldwide (do the Google check), and keep popping up in mixes from some of the best ... But what people don't know is that he's a really killer DJ as well ... no, really. The proof is in the mix that you've already hit play on. Speaking of which, my feelings won't be hurt if you want to ffwd through my first 45min and go straight to his interview and mix .. matter of fact, I encourage you to do so because, Freaks, you WILL NOT BE DISAPPOINTED. There's only one warning: This mix is not for the weak, and mos definitely for the ones who love to boogie! 100% love and respect to Kreap for making our 4th BCH Birthday so damn special! We didn't want to do it without ya, man! Thank you thank you thank you! And hey, give him a visit on Facebook too; he's got the best timeline! Before I leave you, please read the message on the post pic, and know that the BCH Residents and myself appreciate all you've given us over the last 4 years. We're looking forward to a few more with you! Till next week, Freaks ... Much love and all respect. Peace, and Freak Freely - Sista♥

 BCH | Feb 27 2013 | 1Bitch2Decks – Vinyl Week | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 1:56:46

Good Afternoon, Freaks!  [Some] music these days seem to come and go like acquaintances ... But Vinyl ... well, those old records - no matter how much you don't listen to or play them anymore - are forever. So when an "Vinyl Week on CHFM" was proposed, this was my best attempt at working with what I had with me. There's a lot of super great cuts in here that'll take you back in memories of all those dance floors and rugs you used to cut on a regular and, what some might claim, back to a time in House Music when people didn't waste their money on putting just anything out - and instead focused on the quality of what they were putting out. I miss those days ... and am truly happy to see them coming back stronger in 2013. Last year alone vinyl sales went up by over 40% with this year predicted to see a raise by, at least, another 30% more. Great news for all the DJs & collectors out there who still swear by the waxy stuff! Tune in next week as BCH celebrates its 4th Year on Chicago House FM! We've kidnapped this hella' funny guy, Kreap, and have given him an ample supply of baked supplies, water, food, music, and audio porn to keep him busy till Wednesday ... We know how to treat our kidnapped victims, Freaks, and don't let anyone tell ya' different!  Big shouts of love to my hubz for sharing his records with me, and super love shouts out to all the Freaks in the CHFM house that night! You guys really know how to get a sista going ;) . All love, and nothing but!!  Enjoy Music and Freak Freely, Sista♥

 BCH | Feb 20 2013 | Karl Almaria | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 1:02:44

Good afternoon, Freaks! For this week's BCH we invited Chicago-bred DJ/Producer/Organizer of all things fun, Karl Almaria. Without even knowing it, this guy has become a Chicago legend; from the decks to the Bunchlox BBQ's, to supporting and being an integral player in the veins of the Chicago House community by being consistent... His latest excursion into the underground finds him holding things down with his fellow DJs in a new night called "Spork", at one of Chicago's longest standing house homes, Smartbar Chicago. You can also find him on the Chicago House FM airwaves every Tuesday at 10pm CST, with Bunchlox Radio, as well as with special Sunday Brunchlox's shows on MHYH where visiting DJs and other Chicago legends come together for a day of beats and BBQ's from the backyard of the underground. And while were' on it, I'm also pretty happy to announce that Karl's agreed to give BCH a yearly visit every February, bringing the BCH audience plenty of Bunchloxbeats ... we're pretty giddy about it too! I highly recommend giving this guy more of your time; Karl never disappoints the listener and the dancer, and always gives 100% Bunchlox boogie! Big Love to Karl, and to the CHFM chat room for making every show super fun! We'll see you next week, Freaks! Enjoy Music and Freak Freely - Sista♥

 BCH | Feb 13 2013 | Ryan Truman | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 1:52:17

Happy Friday, Freaks! I hope everyone's got the same afterglow from Valentine's Day as I do; whether someone was good to you or you were good to yourself - it ALL counts. For this week's BCH I was super happy to welcome our guest, Ryan Truman, to the BCH booth. Music | Mixes | Twitter | Facebook If you're unfamiliar with his production then you can find most of it here; however, for those who didn't know he's also quite the freakin' DJ who can take any room and turn it into a party - and it's no wonder since he's got music seeped in his blood stream.  Growing up in Chicago during the 80's means he was exposed to music that influenced his budding musical curiosity, and took him from everything from playing bass in rock bands to making experimental electronic music. His music has been on some of the most influential labels in our industry, earning him a worldwide following of fans of DJs, producers, and dancers alike. These days you can find him cranking out anything from soulful jack to neck-snapping, crispy hihats, beating tracks that you'll find in some of our industry's finest playlists. For his guest spot he offered BCH an exclusive Valentine's mix with the ladies in mind (Ladies LOVE to jack and neck-snap too, Freaks, don't forget that). He gave us cuts filled with heavy-hitting basslines and beats that had the chat room jumping cut after cut - after cut! And Ryan did just as we'd predicted he would ... he killed it ... and I don't use those words loosely, Freaks. I recommend clicking on any of links to hear more from Ryan to stay up with his latest productions and mixes, or just to let him know how much you enjoyed his mix. He appreciates the love just as we appreciated his love ... and you can bet your beat we'll be having him back as a guest in 2013. Have a kick ass weekend, Freaks!! Keep that afterglow going ... Enjoy Music and Freak Freely. Peace, Sista♥

 BCH | Jan 30 2013 | Larry Levan Tribute | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 1:52:59

Good evening Freaks! Last night I decided to take advantage of my birthday and do something different on BCH; like pay homage to a DJ that indisputably knew how to read a dancefloor, change a mood of over 500 people at once, and lead like a shaman ... kicking up all kinds of disco dust at this concrete palace where crucial cuts were broken weekly on willing audience, and are still being sampled throughout House music today. That man is Larry Levan and the place is the Paradise Garage. Our guest DJ this week, Mr. Walt, captured the essence I was hoping to bring that would convey just how much influence Larry and his club gave House Music. From story-teller and party host to record breaker and remixer, Larry proved his direct influence in the cuts that made it past the Garage and straight into our living rooms, cars, and boomboxes, and ingrained in us lifelong memories of good times. Fact: once WBLS program director, Frankie Crocker stumbled onto the Garage it was guaranteed that he could hear songs on Fri and Sat night and be playing them by Monday to his syndicated audience; touting it as the "new stuff" and bringing awareness to the new sounds coming out of New York.  Larry's power as a DJ was so influencing that he could sell a few thousand records in one night just by playing them; the next morning when the Garage was closing up for the night, the line for Vinyl Mania was just beginning to form. Seriously ... As a Remixer, he worked with top producers and musicians that are still influencing music today; whether that includes House Music or not. And for someone that's been gone from our plane for twenty years, all you have to do is look around and see for yourself - he never really left us; now more than ever, it really is 3 degrees of separation when it comes to Larry, Paradise Garage, and House Music. Big shout out to Mr. Walt for giving me this great gift and, shout out to Filta Freqz, Lurob, Fatboy, and MrHun for hanging out in the studio with us. A great Birthday night indeed! And thanks for allowing me this indulgence, Freaks! Next week: House to House. Enjoy Music and Freak Freely - Sista♥

 BCH | Jan 23 2013 | Q | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 2:03:30

Good afternoon, Freaks! The snow is melted, the sun is out, my Birthday weekend is in full effect, and we've got something delicious in store for you with last weeks BCH guest; my good friend and peer, DJ Q (aka Quincy Davis). This windy-city native grew up surrounded by a city so drenched in music history, that it was inevitable his own music would reflect that when he decided to become a DJ over a decade ago. Q's mix offered us everything from deep and bumpy to feelgood and gritty; with just the right dash of unmeasured Soul. An excellent vibe to get your feet moving and body werking and warmed up; and for those on public transport or with errands to run in the cold, we know we could all use the heat! You can catch Q every Wednesday at 1am GMT/7pm CST on Chicago House FM Radio with his show, Phunk Trunk. Hope to see you for this week's BCH; we're celebrating my birthday, and atribute to the music of Larry Levan and The Garage! Have a kick-ass week, Freaks! Enjoy Music and Freak Freely -Sista♥

 BCH | Jan 16 2013 | Big Daddy Bud | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 1:57:20

Good Afternoon Freaks! Winter is definitely upon us now as the first snowfall of the season has finally arrived and now - more than ever - we need some ((( HEATERS ))). The great part about that last bit is our guest, Big Daddy Bud, has mos def brought some tunes that'll make you werk up a sweat and get your dancing kicks just a bit scuffed. A true sign of a DJ who has done their job. Big Daddy (Umm, can we call you that for short?) is about to celebrate his 20th year as a Decknician and owes it all to a visit to a warehouse district of Chicago where, he says, his life was changed forever. He grew up being fed a steady daily diet of sounds from Motown, and through the years became an accomplished bass and guitar player until that fateful night that he stumbled into a warehouse in Chicago where, we're guessing, it just all came together. his musical background instilled his love of Funk and lead him down the path to what has now become signature sounds of deep and funky chunky; soon we'll be able to play those sounds of his, because 2013 has found him taking his musical roots to the production level and ... well, all I've gotta say is this: if his original productions are anything like the music he plays out - sign. me. up! We loved Bud's feelgood music, and hope it brings you, Freaks and Freakette's, the heat needed to keep you warm and movin' on those cold winter journeys. Till next week, Freaks ... Enjoy Music and Freak Freely - Sista♥
