 "He's me Mate!" | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 2347

The London terror attack has been headlining the news........and needless to say the politicians wade in blaming their opposition.......the way the situation was handled was a credit to the police and could have been a lot worse. I used to produce demos for people who would send me their rough versions of their songs and I would put them into a presentable state to send to publishers.... I have been watching the TV series of The Crown which Is brilliant....it divulges information .....the programme is fascinating but I wonder what the Royals think of it as it doesn't pull many punches. And on the subject of the Crown...the young lady who was allegedly treated so badly by Prince Andrew 20 odd years ago is over here stating how bad his dancing was ...you couldn't write this stuff...... On the music front we are,as always at this time of year, subjected to the same old worn out Christmas songs.....can we not have a few NEW songs???.......give us a break and leave that sort of stuff to those who can do it. The song this week is another one of my novelty songs....I was asked by my then publisher to write a song for Cannon and Ball ...apparently they liked the song but I heard nothing for ages so I went to see them when they were appearing in Stoke.......I eventually met them when we were on the same show and we have been friends ever since.......so here it is ....

If Every Day Was Christmas Day in Our 'ouse". | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 1676

I am not a fan of Prince Andrew but I find it disgraceful how the media have treated the situation turning it into a witch hunt........mind you the BBC have to find ways to spend the 3 billion they get from licence fees.... We really are and always have been a nation of followers...sheep if you like.......and this not only applies to the bilge we get from politicians it stretches out to show biz with the likes of Simon Cowell or Ant and Dec etc. who make fortunes with very little talent.... The Womans Own magazine has recently had headlines on the cover stating "it's over" between Piers Morgan and Susanna Reid...and mentioning arguments behind the scenes which apparently is a load of usual media rubbish.......Piers organised ITV to make a similar one using a collection of youngsters which has gone down better than the "real' ones.... As the festive season approaches we have yet another American import....Black Friday...where everything is at SALE prices.......and all this going on backed by the same old Christmas songs through the shop's P.A. system with Maria Carey warbling out "All I want for Christmas is you".... Despite my total lack of interest in Christmas I was in fact commissioned to write a short Christmas musical for Radio City back in the day......I wrote six songs and the script, with City bringing in local artists to play the parts........the song this week is the title song of the play ..and here it is "If Every Day Was Christmas Day in Our 'ouse".

A mother blasted her daughter's school for casting her six-year-old as the 'Inn Keeper's Wife' in the Nativity, claiming it is 'sexist'. .

 Worrizit? | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 2087

Prince Andrew has hit the news headlines after his recent interview on the BBC....where he virtually denies all wrongdoing in the Epstein scandal....an appearance I felt was somewhat misguided as now it seems he has dug himself even further down the ditch...my perception of the man is he has always come over as very arrogant and seems to actually believe he is above everyone else and deserves his high position in life....and doesn't seem to be that bright.......what he fails to see is that the media are not impressed and if you upset them they will seek revenge...but at the end of the day it's all fodder for the gutter press...and as there is no possible solution he would be better keeping his mouth shut and letting it all blow over which it will do.....but we must spare a thought for the poor old Queen who must be totally fed up with the lot of them............

Forming a government in Spain will be more complicated than ever after Sunday's election : big gains for the far right and left the winning Socialist Party (PSOE) with 120 seats, 56 short of a parliamentary majority. The arithmetic of the election produces several possibilities for getting the caretaker prime minister, Pedro Sánchez, returned to office. The leader Ciudadanos (Citizens), Albert Rivera, resigned from his role Having picked up 57 seats in April 28 poll, Ciudadanos fell to just 10 seats on Sunday The PP and far-right Vox made major gains. As a preliminary step, Vox wants the immediate devolution of powers over education, health, security and justice, and to curtail regional legislative power as much as possible.” Vox wants to “shut down fundamentalist mosques,” to “regain control of our borders,” and to “arrest and deport extremist imams.” Spaniards do not have a good level of English. In fact, surveys from the European Union’ s statistical office, Eurostat, and a report from the foreign language company, Education First, place Spain close to the bottom of the ladder compared to the rest of Europe when it comes to English proficiency. Furious Britons today hit back at David Starkey's 'shameful' slurs about Remembrance Sunday imposing 'poppy fascism' by pointing out the fallen died for 'freedom not fascism' and that no one is forced to take part. The day we forget, is the day humanity will end. Perhaps a third war will warm people towards remembering the last two wars rather than living in a bubble. Emily Thornberry to shrug off fears that Jeremy Corbyn would put Britain's security at risk - by claiming he will not have sole control of the nuclear deterrent. The Polish Prime Minister has accused Netflix of 'rewriting history' after a popular documentary included a map showing Nazi death camps inside the borders of modern Poland.

Political Correctness Gone to the Dogs! | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 2336

All this tripe about political correctness where you can't say this and you can't say that because it might offend someone, is becoming very tiresome....not to mention the 100 different genders we can choose from...this just proves how polite and tolerant the general public are by putting up with this garbage....when one of these publicity seeking characters come up with, for example, the expression"ladies and gentlemen" possibly being offensive or the many other stupid opinions it needs someone to tell them in no uncertain terms where to go....and when the P.C. brigade rise up-tell them as well....we are being manipulated by a bunch of morons whose only chance of a bit of "fame" is to come up with stupid ideas ....which actually offend ME!!!... For me to respect and enjoy entertainment there has to be actual talent....I have nothing against TV personalities making their fortune with very little of it...for example the likes of Jonathan Ross or Graham Norton who I appreciate are very popular but anyone can do what they do and don't get me going on Ant and Dec....not anyone can do,for example, what Bruce Forsyth did...because he had TALENT......we are now subjected to "celebrities" in the shape of reality show characters and "Gogglebox" couch potatoes watching TV and commenting........so I was delighted to watch Jeff Lynne's E.L.O. on the BBC live concert....what a great show with wonderful songs and brilliant musicians.....THAT'S TALENT!!! I have been watching a programme on caravanning with Shane Richie who visits caravan sites and raves on about how wonderful they are in a none stop effort to convince people that this is how to spend your holidays...as opposed to going abroad....all very well but old Shane arrives at each site and receives the biggest and best luxury static on the site....last week a six person luxury job with a few big TVs and fitted kitchen...the lot.....very nice considering he was on his own.....he obviously gets this free as he is making a TV programme and obviously gets a nice fee on top of this....but what is never mentioned is the price to stay in one of these virtual hotels....perhaps if he went out in a two berth tourer and had a week of rain and gusting winds he wouldn't be so keen on "caravanning". I am surprised that the ladies England football team is called the "Lionesses"...which is obviously a female term....are they not suppose to have a choice as to what they are?....perhaps the "England Liongenderfluids"...this would make more sense in our politically correct world.....I watched as much as I could stand of their match against Germany which they lost.... and missing a penalty as usual in front of a "capacity" crowd ...I'm still not convinced and I think the ladies game has a long way to go....especially when you compare it to the Liverpool/Man City game....amazing quality if not some dodgy decisions but riveting stuff.....come on ladies let's start winning the big games. The song this week is one I wrote for my pal Paul Damian and is a track on the album I produced for him which includes the now famous How To Say Llanfairpwll...etc. which has ha 2.2 million hits on YouTube......this one is called The Legend of Beddgelert and is about the demise of a dog, named Gelert, which belonged to Llewellyn,a Welsh Prince back in the 13th century....it is a very sad tale....the dog's grave is visited by many tourists through the summer months in the actual village of Beddgelert (which means grave of Gelert).....since putting it on YouTube it has had 10 thousand hits....and a lot of nice comments....so here it is...hankies at the ready...The Legend of Beddgelert

 More Fireworks! | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 1988

Bonfire night is upon us once again...so as usual the hospitals will have plenty to do dealing with burns and damaged eyesight...personally I cannot see the point of watching money go up in smoke to the sound of OOOH!... AHH!... from onlookers.......then idiots wouldn't be able to put them to misuse........ Speaking of which.... we have just had the wonderful American import "Trick or Treat" which brought out the youths of certain parts of Merseyside throwing bricks through car windows and throwing stones at houses causing pointless damage....and guess what....there wasn't ONE 70 year old involved....it was our wonderful youngsters who now think they can vote and run the country.... I watched the Rugby World Cup final last Sunday....I should have stayed in bed....It was hard work watching The Springboks slowly destroying England...I know it's easy to criticise from an armchair but as I have said on many occasions winning isn't everything....it's the ONLY thing.....we really needed to win that game which would have been a major boost for the sport... I do feel sport is slowly losing its way.......but as someone remarked on Facebook that they have often required the assistance of a doctor or a nurse but they have never required the assistance of a pop star or footballer....food for thought? I know this is only a minor point and there are far more important things to think about but I watched a programme about people buying property in Spain and the presenter kept wrongly pronouncing Benalmadena.....he KEPT referring to it as "Benalmadeena" and as you know the accent is on the "a" after the "m"..........similarly it's not THE Wirral where I live ...it's Wirral...and it's not The Menai StraitS....it's STRAIT...there's only one of it.......just saying. And on the subject of WIRRAL the song this week is one I wrote about it back in the day....it was a follow up to my Wirral Song which the then council made a substantial order...it was on vinyl as was this one and they sold them through their sports centres and libraries and it went well as a lot of people feel the same way about this little corner of the world...so here it is...Wirral Splendour.

Strictly Come Dancing and Much More!!!!!! | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 1921

Why doesn't ITV understand that the viewers want to hear what the presenters on Good Morning Britain and the guests are saying....they don't want to listen to them all arguing and shouting at the same time....it's like an aviary full of crows..... I have enjoyed Strictly Come Dancing for many years....I like it because it involves actual TALENT from both the professionals and from the judges....plus the spectacle of athletic guys and beautifully sculpted ladies gliding across the dance floor.with great live music from a fabulous band.... And there is a move afoot to stop the utilising of live insects on I'm a celebrity get me out of here.....I couldn't agree more.......who are well past their sell by date. The youngsters have decided the over 70s should not be allowed to vote...........I watched this discussed on The Jeremy Vine Show where one of the guest panelists was Derek Hatton........I have spent some time with Deggsy in the past and he is a great bloke......and back in the day I wrote a couple of songs for two editions of "Newsnight" about the Knowsley North Bye Election....one of which was about Derek and I appeared in the programme along with him. Trick or Treating has hit the news.....they are trying bring in a law to ban over 12 year olds going from door to door because it intimidates householders........when this began I used to keep a pack of cards by my front door and when the kids used to turn up and say "trick or treat" I would say "trick" and display one of my many card tricks and then say "O.K....see ya" and watch them walk away totally confused.
