 10/21/2012 Our 5th year anniversary celebration | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 7787

This year we celebrate a milestone, Won't you join us? It was back in September 2007, that Eric Altman and Sean Forker came up with the idea of hosting an internet talk show to talk with researchers, investigators and experiencers who dealt with the stranger side of life. Subjects that were just beyond the edge of reality. They wanted to know if there was life after death. Were there such things as Ghosts and hauntings? Do undiscovered creatures like Bigfoot, Lake Monsters, and the Mothman really exist? Are we not alone in the universe and being visited by Aliens traveling here in UFO's? Do people really have the ability to see the future and speak to the dead? Eric and Sean wanted answers to some of these greatest mysteries and more. They wanted to leave the world of they knew and travel far beyond the edge. On October 26, 2007, Beyond The Edge Radio was born. The first show aired that night on Blog Talk Radio and our very first guest was Paranormal Society of Pennsylvania Founder and paranormal investigator Rick Fisher.  This week we're travelling across the pond to Scottland to explore "Zones of Strangeness" with Dr. Peter McCue 9/23/2012 | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 7502

Eric, Lon and Sean have their passports ready, their bags packed and are set for a trip abroad to "Zones of Strangeness" as we welcome author and researcher Dr. Peter McCue. During the first half hour, we welcome back John Ventre of the Pennsylvania Chapter of the Mutual UFO Network to tell us about upcoming Philadelphia and Pittsburgh UFO conferences scheduled in the next few weeks, plus an update about the mass sightings taking place in the skies of Pennsylvania. Then at 8:30 pm est, we hop aboard the airliner and fly across the Atlantic to Scottland to join our guest Dr. Peter McCue as we discuss his newly written and released book, "Zones of Strangeness; An Examination of Paranormal and UFO Hot Spots." Tune in for a fantastic program this coming Sunday evening with Eric, Lon and Sean as we once again take you Beyond The Edge.... About Dr. McCue: Dr Peter McCue worked for many years as a clinical psychologist in Britain’s National Health Service. He lives in Scotland. His Ph.D., from the University of Glasgow, was awarded for a thesis on hypnosis. His interest in psychical research and ufology goes back decades. He believes that paranormal events occur, and that many UFO experiences are genuinely anomalous. He contends that if we want to obtain a comprehensive understanding of ourselves and the nature of reality, these enigmatic phenomena can’t be ignored. Over the centuries, there’ve been many reports, worldwide, of unexplained phenomena. Certain areas seem to play host to a disproportionate number of them, either temporarily or on a long-term basis. Some places acquire a reputation for just one type of manifestation, whereas others seem to be the setting for a variety of them (e.g. UFO sightings, cattle mutilations, and sightings of strange animals). Can the reports be believed? Are the phenomena genuinely paranormal? Do certain areas really see an unusually high number of anomalous events? What’s behind the manifestations? Do they involve extraterrestrials, creatures from ‘other dimensions’, time travellers, the workings of the human mind, or some sort of higher intelligence? These are just some of the questions that Peter addresses in his recently published book Zones of Strangeness: An Examination of Paranormal and UFO Hot Spots. This 560-page book is a well-researched and well-referenced study of the connection, real or supposed, between anomalous phenomena and certain geographical areas. It cites a mass of case material from the UK, the USA and elsewhere, and also includes useful foundation chapters. Further details are available on the Internet – for example, at: http://www.amazon.com/Zones-Strangeness-Peter-A-McCue/dp/1456778420 http://bookstore.authorhouse.com/Products/SKU-000465121/Zones-of-Strangeness.aspx Peter believes that seemingly different types of paranormal phenomena (e.g. hauntings, poltergeist activity, and high strangeness UFO-related manifestations) may be fundamentally linked, and that they could be construed as theatrical performances orchestrated by a higher intelligence. He contends that the entities involved (ghosts, humanoids, ‘greys’, etc.) may be temporary ‘stage props’, and that it isn’t necessary to assume that the higher intelligence comes from another planet, ‘another dimension’, a parallel universe, or from the future – it may have always been here.

This week, we take a Crypto Trip with filmaker Chris Maloney and the Paranormal Pastor Robin Swope | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 7348

This week on the show, Eric, Lon and the Forkchop are gonna take a trip....A "Crypto Trip," with independent filmaker Christopher Maloney and one of the stars of the film, our good friend the Paranormal Pastor Robin Swope. Travel across the country this week with us as we explore the world of Cryptozoology and search for the truth about Cryptid trip, that just like us, takes you beyond the edge. Plus we will explore the legend known as the Slenderman, the latest book from Paster Swope. About Christopher: Christopher Maloney is an independent documentary filmmaker whose top priority is truth. This is what prompted him to enroll in the E.W. Scripps School of Journalism at Ohio University, having grown up outside of nearby Cincinnati. After little more than a year, during which time he directed several stage productions for a local theatre company, Christopher left Scripps and moved to New York, where he decided to focus his attention on getting an education in Film Production at Sarah Lawrence College and the New York Film Academy. After film school, he tackled the life and death of the performance artist Andy Kaufman in his award-winning documentary video The Death of Andy Kaufman, which went on to secure DVD distribution and play at The Two Boots Pioneer Theater in New York’s Lower East Side. Following the response to The Death of Andy Kaufman, Christopher relocated just outside of Boston and helmed an independent documentary video on the American Shakers called Come, Thou Fount: Thoughts on the Shakers. This included an exceptionally rare interview with the only three remaining Shakers on earth, who granted him complete access to their community for the purpose of the project. This project premiered at the S.N.O.B. Film Festival and played on regional television in the Boston area. Christopher has since focused his efforts on a documentary project called Cryptotrip, which explores the identity of cryptozoology in the United States. He lives in a farmhouse in Northern Kentucky with his wife and daughter and can be reached at maloney_christopher@yahoo.com. You can also follow Christopher on Twitter at http://twitter.com/#!/MaloneysMovies About Pastor Robin Swope: Rev.  Ben Hansen of SciFy's Fact or Faked, Paranormal Files and lots of Surprises and prizes this week! 9/8/2012 | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 7470

If there ever was a week of BTE Radio you decided to miss, this would not be it. We have loads of surprises, prizes and Ben Hansen from the Sci Fy channels Fact or Fake Paranormal Files joining us this week on the show. Lon and Eric are estatic and honored to welcome Ben to this weeks show as we talk to the Lead investigator and star of the hit Sci Fy show Fact or Faked Paranormal Files, Ben Hansen. Plus we have an extra special prize to give away and a HUGE surprise to announce as well! This show is so big, we'll be lucky two hours will be big enough to hold it all so you're just gonna have to tune in this Sunday night to find out what is in store for everyone! About Ben! Ben grew up primarily in Utah, the 2nd oldest of six children. Supportive parents encouraged him to fully pursue all of his interests. Like many of his friends, Ben’s dad enrolled him in sports and coached dozens of his athletic teams while his mom signed him up for piano and trumpet lessons and kindled within him an interest for music. Ironically, she was also the one who taught him how to fish, camp, and shoot a gun while his dad preferred to teach life’s lessons on the court and baseball field. Because his parents were so supportive, Ben developed an obsession for trying new things, especially if it involved earning certifications and licenses. These endeavors included becoming a licensed airplane pilot, amateur radio operator, licensed falconer, certified SCUBA diver, hang glider, Search and Rescue dog handler, and earning the Eagle Scout award in Boy Scouts (in large part thanks to his mother). He graduated with honors from the University of Utah with a Bachelors degree in Sociology, certification in Criminology and Corrections, a Spanish minor, and a year of study abroad completed in Australia. Ben maintains his Spanish fluency and has used it quite frequently in his work and personal life. Inspired by TV shows like The X-Files which were popular while he was in high school, Ben cemented an interest in both a desire to work in public service for an investigative agency and an insatiable desire to explore mysteries of the unknown. After graduating college, he worked for several private and public agencies, including investigating child sex crimes and severe physical abuse on the Utah County Sex Crimes Task Force. His training and work later brought him to work in the position of Special Agent for the FBI. His time serving at the state and federal levels gave him over six years of formal experience in investigating a wide range of crimes and national security details. Feeling as though he might someday return to public service, Ben also felt compelled to seize an opportunity presented to him to assist in forming a new investigative reality TV show. Departing from the mainstream paranormal shows prevalent at the time, this new show would not only conduct observation-based field investigations; it would focus primarily on alleged evidence already at hand. The age of the Internet has brought with it the sharing of thousands of allegedly paranormal viral videos and photographs. People with a sincere curiosity for the unknown are often left with the tremendous and exciting task of sifting through the hoaxes and naturally explainable cases. Ben and the show developers felt that after a methodical process of experimentation, whatever evidence remained unexplained... also became more compelling. From this concept was born the SyFy hit television show Fact or Faked: Paranormal Files. Having been with Fact or Faked from the beginning, Ben leads a team of five specialists who travel the world looking for answers to these mysteries. Confronting the relationship of seeing and believing, the team has witnessed and documented dozens of unbelievable events. Many people recite the phrase, "I'll believe it when I see it." Balancing an innate human longing for rational explanation with the acceptance of witnessing undeniab(continued)

Wormholes and Multi Dimensions and Quantim Physics Oh My!! David Rountree joins us this week! 8/19/2012 | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 7517

This week we get scientific as Eric and Lon welcome Electrical Sound Engineer David Rountree to the show and we get deep into the discussion of the possibilities of wormholes, multi-dimensions and quanim physics. This is one show to really wrap your head around and make you think! Join us this week as we take a look at the latest in the paranormal news from 8 to 8:30 pm then at 8:30 eastern, we welcome David to the show. About David Rountree: Author, Lecturer, Paranormal Researcher David was born in 1954 in Suffolk, Virginia, but moved to Delray Beach, Florida, in the fall of 1963, where he first became interested in the paranormal. In 1965, his next door next door neighbor, Fred W. Grosstuck, a retired college professor and pattern maker, gave him a book called "Adventures in the Paranormal", essentially a collection of short stories of events from all over the world that were scientifically unexplainable. Fred also introduced him to Fate magazine. He proceeded to read every book about the paranormal he could get his hands on. He participated in the exploration of his first "haunted house" at the age of 17 in Boynton Beach, Florida. He received his B.S.E.E. in 1973 while serving in the Air Force, in microwave technology. In November of 2007 he received his Masters in Electronic Engineering in Digital Signal Processing. In 1978 he was certified as an audio engineer and in 1985 as an acoustic engineer. David worked in the entertainment industry as a Technical Director, Lighting Designer and Audio Engineer for over twenty years. He retired from the University of Florida in 2001. Currently David is Manager of Public Address Communications Technologies and Director of the Audio Research and Development Lab for the third largest public transportation corporation in the nation. He is currently working on his doctorate in physics. David is a professional member of the American Association for the Advancement of Science, the Audio Engineering Society, the International Frequency Sensor Association, and is also affiliated with the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers. He was recently invited to join the Mathematics Association of America. David began his research into the paranormal professionally in 1976, and has investigated cases scientifically from Rhode Island to Key West, Florida. David has experimented with both scientific as well as metaphysical techniques in his study of unexplained occurrences. Over the course of his research he was able to confirm EVP was not related to sound by the use of a Bell Jar, a vacuum pump, a Shure dynamic microphone and a TEAC A-4010S Reel to Reel recorder. Due to several encounters of a very negative nature from 1985-87, he made the decision to concentrate on the scientific research concerning the phenomena, and not the metaphysical aspects of the events. In 1992 David formed a new organization, Scientific Paranormal Investigative Research Information and Technology (S.P.I.R.I.T.), and began a long and painstaking process of collecting, building and focusing a battery of hi-tech instrumentation to concentrate on laboratory and field experimentation to search for the cause of paranormal phenomena. By 1998 his focus of research had narrowed to phenomena specific to “Hauntings”. His primary focus since 1998 has been EVP research, employing his background of audio engineering and psychoacoustics. In 2005 David successfully linked electromagnetic fields as the primary source of EVPs. In 2010 he discovered that paranormal related EMF was an emergent phenomenon. This has spawned his Wormhole Hypothesis explanation of a paranormal event horizon as a source for paranormal activity. He continues to look for answers in science for paranormal phenomena. David's additional areas of research includes investigating the relationship between free air conductance, magnetic fields, radioactive emissions, electromagnetic fields and other electrical radiation surrounding(continued)

Indeed, his early childhood had other unusual circumstances that led him to consider huge ideas - including his mothers `finding of Humanism' (to replace standard religion) and his grandmothers strong interest in UFOs; including him often hearing her say about UFOs `I wish they would land and take me'. So, perhaps as a result of the above - indeed, even from the earliest of ages, and awareness, Phillips remembers many possible non-rdinary realities; such as: Time Distortion as a child when throwing a stone at someone and as the stone went towards the persons back - time slowed down significantly in his perception A one time `we won't hurt you' bedroom visitor who instilled sleep movement immobilization and speech immobilization - under age six. Poltergeist phenomena in home - most likely of the grandfather he was living with at the time of his sudden death when 13 years old. Indeed, the paranormal experiences have continued throughout Phillips' life including: Automatic writing/Thinking - From 1974-1976 would have to suddenly write concepts he knew nothing about - later to find he was writing Phenomenology ideas similar to Husserl and Sartre when he found those thinkers works. Phillips calls these ideas `The Phillips Phenomenology' and it forms one of his foundations of looking at the anomalous phenomena in the world. He has two blogs that deeply dig into his phenomenology - one called `What Is Not Able To Not Be Is 'http://whatisnotabletonotbeis.blogspot.com/ and the other is Phillips's main esoteric blog and his first investigations into the worlds Fortean phenomena - it's called `The Heavy Stuff' - http://theheavystuff.com/ Telekinesis witness - 1973 with former roommate at Ohio University, Curt Chaplin - the hallway interview guy, of `The People's Court' for the past 15 years. The telekinesis happened at a pre-selected `power spot' and was during extreme talks of Chaplin and Phillips about Carlos Castaneda's first book - The Teachings of Don Juan. Specifically, Chaplin and Phillips were by far MOST interested in the appendix of the book called `The Structural Analysis'. (Have REVERSE related event with John Flower.) Full blown Missing Time Incident with Two Others - 1986 with intellectual friend John Flower (so intellectual that he was once an actor for an ad in Rolling Stone that called for a `40's bearded intellectual'). The description of what is remembered of the structure of this `time gap' is worth listening to and thinking about. One great post on The Heavy Stuff Phillips wrote was called `The Missing Space of Missing Time Incidents'. Phillips also may have had a `smaller' missing time incident in the mid-70's also. Controlled Lucid Dreaming - About a dozen times using Carlos Castaneda's technique of `finding ones hands' in a dream and then setting up a phenomenology there. Phillips describes this reality state as totally unique. Close Up UFO Sighting - 1991 - Very close sighting with a great background story. Ultimately, this has led Phillips to be a near daily UFO blogger. His highest rated (Alexa) blog is called UFO Disclosure Countdown Clock-http://ufodisclosurecountdownclock.blogspot.com/ started in 2007 and put into near daily full gear since 2010 and now with over 550 posts. But, all of the above - has been fed into the mind of Phillips - which also has had `interesting experiences' beyond the near automatic esoteric phenomenology writing (BTW, most of Phillips's blogs are indeed just that ty(continued)
