JW Show 255: A New Show, and James Dean Kindle Sings | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 1:58:34

Here's a great show for you packed with new independent music, as well as a live session and interview from James Dean Kindle from James Dean Kindle and the Eastern Oregon Playboys. They've just released their newest album, Many Splendored Things and we'll spin a track from that as well. Also, we're just off the back of the launch party for our new show on the radio around here. 107.7 The Vine asked us if we could do a show for them similar to The Justin Wayne Show but to focus more on local and regional music, news and events. We've done just that, and if you'd like to check it out, it's called "The Weekend" and you'll find the past podcasted episodes over at MyColumbiaBasin.com or you can listen if you're near Walla Walla, Pendleton or the Tri Cities on 107.7 FM from 5pm Saturdays and 11am Sundays. The kickoff party raised almost $700 dollars for the Rock and Roll summer camps in Pendleton and Walla Walla, of which we're very proud.  Live Gig: Discovery 2 with ShaoDow, Model Society, Alex Hulme and Big Zero | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 2:05:00

Join Claire Rozario down at the The AAA, now called the Archangel Basement, with these excellent live sets and interviews from four fantastic artists: ShaoDow, Model Society, Alex Hulme and Big Zero. It was an excellent night full of great performances, and you can hear it all right here. More About the Bands ShaoDow A Shaolin Kung Fu trained independent rapper with a Law degree; known for working with genres including Hip Hop, Grime, Dubstep, Rock and House. Trained in Shaolin Kung Fu in China he has sold over 15,000 copies of his CDs across the world alone, toured in Thailand, performed at Reading and Leeds Festival and headlined the O2 Academy Oxford twice. He has self released 5 singles, 1 EP, 2 Mixtapes and 2 Albums and co-released the DiY Gang Wireless Headphones range with Freesound Audio. ShaoDow's website Model Society A quintessentially British sound which breathes new energy into social commentary and satire of today's surburban life. Having recorded tracks with the likes of Paul Tipler (Idlewild, Placebo) and Steve Levine (Beach Boys, Culture Club) they have a succesful list of airplay and gigs under their belt including Bestival, O2 December Sessions and supporting Young Knives. They put on a captivating live show and are often described as a musical blend of Blur, Bloc Party and Hard Fi with a nod to the nostalgia of Buzzcocks. "I'd have said to John Peel, Hey listen to this great sound" Rob Da Bank “So catchy Interpol and Franz Ferdinand will wonder why they ever bothered.” ARTROCKER Model Society's website Big Zero You know the story... three musicians from a no-name town, fed up with listening to the music played on the radio came together to form a band. But this is where the familiarity ends... These young purveyors of New Wave Punk Rock, are here to shake things up and give Pop music a much needed shot of adrenaline. They are fast, they are loud and they want to get up in everyone's faces. Adam Saunderson, Bradley Stainton, and Johnny Shinner are taking influence from the best of British and American Pop Rock; from The Cars to The Police, from Green Day to The Sex Pistols. Real bands that play live music. To the outside world they were simply the punks, the weirdos, the outsiders, but together they are BIG ZERO. Big Zero on Twitter Alex Hulme Folk-pop singer, writer and loop maker Alex Hulme returns to the AAA as part of his promotional tour for his new single 'Climb'. Plaudits from Paul McCartney and Billy Ocean aside, his work has received critical acclaim from the likes of Ultimate Guitar and the Beeb. Alex performs like his life depends on it. Don’t just take our word for it; listen to Sir Macca, listen for yourself. He conquers the intricate layering of loops on a live stage that would put his hero, Foy Vance, to shame, and coming from a humble rural background in the North West, he has a lot to talk about. His lyrics are striking, his vocals are velveteen. "A beautiful song and a wonderful melody" - Sir Paul McCartney "His ability to command the room was nothing short of remarkable..." -Bido Lito Magazine Alex Hulme's website

Live: The Justin Wayne Show with Tim Atlas at Main Street Studios | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 54:52

Back in January, we had a unique chance to introduce an artist to Walla Walla at Main Street Studios. Tim Atlas came to us for two nights and someone had the crazy idea of kicking off a live version of The Justin Wayne Show on the first night. With the help of Michael Simon of Coffee Ring Studios dealing with all of the sound both on stage and recording, Nate Redford of Lumenate Design taking care of the set, lights and promo pieces, and Tim Atlas bringing his A game, we had a great time. Other thank-yous going out to Alisa Gilbert, Kim Boyd and Rachael Buroker of Main Street Studios and all the rest of the crew and audience who attended and made this an amazing night. You can listen to the entire show here in the podcast above. You can also view a few songs we got on video as well as Tim's short loop pedal clinic he did on stage for me. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wuawSJGimQc
