Nicola Lees: Founder Of TVMole A “How To Pitch Your TV Program Idea” Blog Explains How She Makes A Full Time Income In Such A Unique Topic | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: Unknown

Nicola Lees started a blog, TVMole.com, about a very unique subject - she helps people who have an idea for a TV program learn how to pitch their concept to the people who can make it happen. Nicola makes a living from her blog thanks to all the opportunities that come her way - from consulting gigs, to speaking on panels at events, to contracting work within companies. She also has a course she sells, a recent addition to her online business. [ Download MP3 | Transcript | iTunes | Soundcloud | Raw RSS ] What's unique about Nicola's story is how indirect her selling approach is. She hardly ever overtly sells her services, instead people get in touch with her and offer opportunities. Nicola's story is a great example of how a blog can position you as a preeminent expert in your field, which can lead to all kinds of options for making money, simply by sharing what you know about. Why Create A Blog? Thanks to Nicola's success in the world of television pitching and time working for the BBC, she managed to secure a book deal. As part of that deal she knew she would need some kind of "platform" to launch her book once it was ready. It was at this point she decided to join my Blog Mastermind training program, planning to use her blog as the online platform. Nicola excelled at one particular area - content production. She focused on my concept of "Pillar Articles" and produced a ton of valuable content, which you can see on display in her very content-dense blog homepage. This work has paid off, as a visitor to her blog quickly sees that TVMole is a preeminent source of information about anything to do with TV production and pitching ideas. Consequently Nicola's content is shared by the people who matter most in her industry. The Power Of Referrals Nicola's industry is not large, hence her blog audience size is not big compared to other blogs. During the interview you will hear her state how she doesn't believe Google is sending her much of the kind of traffic she wants. Instead she believes referrals are the best source of targeted audience. A referral in this case comes when someone forwards one of her blog posts or email newsletters on to a colleague. Word of mouth marketing like this is very effective at bringing in the right type of audience - the kind that will offer you work or buy your products. Nicola's case in particular demonstrates why referrals matter so much. She has such a specialised niche with a unique audience. That audience is not likely searching the web for what her blog provides, however if someone recommends her content to another person, that peer-endorsed referral is incredibly powerful. As I have written about before, you only need a small audience of the right people to make good money from blogging. Nicola's situation is another example. If you currently work in a specialised niche and want to build your own platform around your expertise, listen to this interview. [Tweet "A Blog Is The Best "Online Platform" Every Expert Must Have"] When you are ready to begin work on creating your platform, my training program Blog Mastermind is the ideal choice.  Michelle Dale: Mother Of Three Takes Her Kids Around Europe On A Ten Year “Laptop Lifestyle” Trip Thanks To Her $30,000+ A Month Online Business | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: Unknown

This has to be one of the best "laptop lifestyle" case studies I have ever heard. Let me introduce you to Michelle Dale. She is the founder of Virtual Miss Friday, a virtual assistant service and training company. [ Download MP3 | Transcript | iTunes | Soundcloud | Raw RSS ] Michelle has been traveling all around Europe since 2005. She has three children (or should by the time you listen to this - she was pregnant with her third when we did the interview), and her kids have lived in a different city in Europe for each year of their lives so far. Michelle makes $30,000 a month in service billings for her virtual assistant company, and makes as much as $30,000 on top of this each time she does a launch of one of her training programs. She also has a consistent stream of income coming from ongoing sales of her information products when she is not doing launches. Michelle is a graduate of my Blog Mastermind and Membership Site Mastermind programs, and I have to say one of the best members who came out of my programs in terms of results. Today she has a blog and sells SEVEN different training programs - one for each type of information product format I taught in Membership Site Mastermind - from courses to subscription programs. Amazingly enough, she built all of this while traveling and raising a family. Michelle Literally Started With Nothing Michelle is a high school drop out. She worked jobs, got into buying and renovating properties and then decided she wanted to travel. She sold everything she had, paid off all her debts and left the UK with £10,000, which she promptly lost on a property investment deal gone bad in Egypt. Michelle was "trapped" in Egypt due to not having enough money to leave, so began researching internet business options. This is when she came across my blog EJ, as well as many other different ways to make money. She decided to try virtual assisting as her first path to an income stream. She hacked together a website using Dreamweaver and Frontpage software, slowly built up her clientele and also met her future husband and became pregnant, all while living in Egypt for two years. From there Michelle capitalised on her success, growing the services business to well over six figures a year. Due to being asked so many questions about what she does, she decided to create a training program to teach others how to become virtual assistants. Following the plan I outline in Blog Mastermind and Membership Site Mastermind, Michelle had a great first result. She launched a blog, built an email list of 500 people and then announced her first training program. She decided to offer seven trial spots for free to test her program out. She sent out an invite to her list and 34 people applied. She selected the seven free trial members and offered the rest of the people who applied the option to take the program for $1,000. She promptly made $19,000, a great first result! Since then Michelle has gone on to build a true lifestyle business empire, and lives what you might say is an ideal life. She runs her business with her husband, she has a blog, an email list of people who love her products, a services business, and gets to live in a different city in Europe each year, all while raising her kids. This is a truly inspiring story,

Michael Carruth: How A Return To A Childhood Passion For BMX Bikes Became An $80,000 A Year Online Community Business | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: Unknown

Mike Carruth was a school dropout at 14 years old. Rather than being a lost kid, he knew exactly what he wanted to do - become a journalist and photographer for the BMX bike scene - which he did. [ Download MP3 | Transcript | iTunes | Soundcloud | Raw RSS ] As the computer era dawned, Mike became proficient at digital photo editing, using the early tools available at the time. This experience with computers eventually led to a new business, a partnership with some friends to teach people how to use Mac computers. After 15 years as a computer trainer Mike had enough. He sold out of the business without any concrete plans for what to do next. Fate intervened as Mike came across VintageBMX.com, where he found many of his childhood BMX buddies participating on a daily basis. He joined in and rediscovered his love for all things BMX. Mike mentioned to the owner of VintageBMX that he would be interested in buying the site if he was ever interested in selling. Two weeks later a deal was done. VintageBMX is a forum community, so when an opportunity to purchase BMXNews.com came up, Mike jumped at it and added a news content site to his growing portfolio. How Mike Grew His Network From $4,500 To $80,000 A Year When Mike initially took over the BMX sites they were making $4,500 a year. There was clear potential to earn more with over one million page views a month coming to the community. In the interview you will hear how Mike made a simple change to the advertising pricing system used on the sites, and expanded to include features like photography, adding a third site to his network - PhotosArePosted.com. Mike also explains how he interacts with the community in the real world, making sure that his BMX sites are the leaders in the space, so he can charge premium pricing for ads. This is a great interview for anyone who has a hobby passion and wants to turn it into an online business based on a community. BMX is not the biggest niche in the world, but as Mike demonstrates, if you can create a destination for the community, there is money to be made. [Tweet "Your Childhood Passion Can Be Turned Into Profitable Online Business #EJPodcast"] Mike's story is a brilliant example of how to buy sites as a way to enter a market and have a thriving website from day one. This is the same strategy I teach inside my How To Buy And Sell Blogs And Websites E-Guide Package. Relevant Links Vintage BMX BMX News Photos Are Posted Enjoy the interview with Mike.  Natalie MacNeil: Emmy Award Winning Founder Of “She Takes On The World” Blogs Her Way To Half A Million Dollars A Year | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: Unknown

I recently had the pleasure of interviewing Natalie MacNeil, founder of She Takes On The World, a graduate of my Blog Mastermind and Membership Site Mastermind programs. She's won an Emmy award, and today is in charge of a half a million dollar a year blogging business. You can listen to this interview right now to hear the whole story. [ Download MP3 | Transcript | iTunes | Soundcloud | Raw RSS ] * Apologies about the slight distortion during parts of this interview. I didn't realise my call recorder software was not using my higher quality USB mic and was instead using the in-built laptop mic (whoops!). Natalie's First Business Success (And Emmy Win) Natalie started her blog, SheTakesOnTheWorld.com, as a place to talk about her life as an entrepreneur. Initially she was lacking business experience, so decided to use her blog to document her own journey. Doing her best to avoid any form of full time employment, Natalie partners with a talented artist to start a production company. They work on TV shows, creating and managing online games to make the television programs interactive, which eventually leads to winning an Emmy award. Natalie's business grows as they land six figure clients for the production company. However eventually working with such demanding clients starts to feel like a job, and due to the nature of the service being dependent on the one artist, there was little room for growth. After several successful years, Natalie and her partner decide to suspend the production company so they can both move on to focus on their main passions. In Natalie's case, her attention turns to her blogging business. Growing A Blog While Running A Different Business All the time Natalie was working on the production company, she was also publishing to her blog and growing her audience. As her experiences as an entrepreneur continued, she was able to tell her stories using her blog, writing articles and posting videos. When social media emerged, she jumped on things like Twitter, using the tools to reach more people. Although not earning huge amounts of money initially, Natalie started to bring in revenue thanks to advertising and selling small products like ebooks. She decided to pour all the money back into the blog, using the funds to hire people to help grow the business. After taking part in my Membership Site Mastermind program in 2009, Natalie launched a training course, partnering with Natalie Sisson, whom you may know as the Suitcase Entrepreneur. Together they created WE Mastermind (Women Entrepreneurs Mastermind) program, which they lead successful form 2010 to 2013. Today Natalie's main source of income is her flagship training program, the Conquer Club. She also runs live workshops in cities around the world. Using a combination of her blog, social media and her newsletter, Natalie's business is making half a million dollars a year. I'm so impressed with what Natalie has achieved. She built a loyal following whom she is passionate about supporting, has a quality product and is well on her way towards that milli...

Joel Brown: Founder Of Addicted2Success.com Explains Why He Said No To A Million Dollar Buy-Out | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: Unknown

Joel Brown from Perth, Western Australia, started a blog Addicted2Success.com to share quotes and articles about his interest in personal development and success. [ Download MP3 | Transcript | iTunes | Soundcloud | Raw RSS ] Joel worked hard, starting primarily with Twitter as a marketing tool, then branching into other social media platforms. His traffic grew, he produced more content and built on his success. After nine months he added Adsense advertising to his blog and although it wasn't overnight riches, within two years he was making as much from his blog as he did from his full time job. Hence he quit his job. Around this time he started receiving offers from brokers working on behalf of people and companies interested in buying his blog. He said no to a $250,000 offer, and then $600,000 and even a couple of million dollar deals. As you will hear Joel describe during the podcast, he's more excited about seeing where Addicted2Success.com will take him than selling out now. Currently he's making over $100,000 a year thanks primarily to advertising, reaching over one million people per month and delivering over 2.5 million pageviews. How Joel Started As always for EJ podcast interviews I asked my guest to explain his early days, what he did before he started his blog and what led him to the blogging path. I was particularly curious to learn how Joel has reached such incredible amounts of people going after a market that is already very competitive. It's pretty clear that social media was the kickstart for his blog (in particular Twitter), which then helped his blog gain top rankings in Google, bringing in consistent traffic.  Justin Cooke: Co-Founder Of Website Marketplace “Empire Flippers” Explains How You Can Buy And Sell Websites For Big Paydays | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 46:28

Justin Cooke currently lives in the Philippines, where with a business partner he runs an outsourcing company, and also their passion business, a marketplace for buyers and sellers of websites called Empire Flippers. [ Download MP3 | Transcript | iTunes | Soundcloud | Raw RSS ] In 2013 their business did over $600,000 in revenue and in the first quarter of 2014 they have helped others sell over $250,000 worth of websites and small online businesses. Justin became a website flipper by accident. His failed mortgage company led him to a middle-management job, where he spent a lot of time hiring people. He had an idea to start outsourcing work to the Philippines, so his company sent him there to manage things. Things didn't go to well for his employer and eventually Justin found himself in the Philippines with no job, and a small team of workers expecting work to do. He decided as a temporary solution to use his team to build websites following the micro-niche model. Although none of the sites were huge money makers, Justin was able to come up with a system that consistently created small niche sites that could bring in from $50 to a couple of hundred per month primarily in Google AdSense income. He continued to work with his team to build a portfolio of sites, but felt he needed more cash flow to grow things rapidly. To help inject more cash, he started selling the niche sites, and then reinvesting the money back into building more.  This eventually lead to the creation of AdSense Flippers, a blog and podcast to teach other people how to create niche websites as an online income source. They used this exposure to bring more buyers to their website marketplace, which eventually was opened up to other people's sales as well. They rebranded the business as Empire Flippers and today are focused on expanding their marketplace. How To Sell Your Website For Thousands Of Dollars The first 15 minutes of this interview focuses on Justin's background, then we dive into more details behind creating niche websites and selling them. I asked Justin to explain how a person can potentially make $100,000 from selling their website. He breaks down what your website data needs to show to justify that price. Justin also details the exact amount of monthly income that translates into a final sale value. He seemed very confident about the linear relationship between monthly income and final sale price, so make sure you listen in to hear him detail the numbers.  Erika Awakening: From Lawyer To Seduction Coach And Tapping Trainer Making As Much As $370,000 A Year | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 1:05:01

Erika Awakening tells a thoroughly entertaining story in this podcast interview. She explains how she went from a full time lawyer, had a near death experience, then started an internet business where she has had individual clients spend up to $100,000 on her products and coaching. [ Download MP3 | Transcript | iTunes | Soundcloud | Raw RSS ] What's unique about this story are the subjects that Erika found herself making money in. She didn't plan it, but she started out as a seduction coach, primarily helping men with dating advice, thanks to a blog she started to track her own dating experiences. The other subject she was pulled towards is EFT - Emotional Freedom Technique - or often called, Tapping. Erika started as a private coach and managed to make over $100,000 with her business even while still working as a lawyer. Eventually she quit her job and then created video courses to teach people how to release mindset blockages using EFT. Although at times a controversial figure because she has unconventional views on hot topics like relationships, Erika enjoys walking an unusual path and helping others with her knowledge. You will see this come through during the interview. The Power Of A Personal Brand Throughout this interview I continue to ask Erika how she attracted customers and how she could continuously raise her prices. The answer is in the personal brand she built. Although she angered plenty of people who don’t share her beliefs, she connected strongly with some people, who would go on to purchase her products and take part in her coaching programs. Make sure you listen all the way through this interview as Erika explains clearly how each different phase of her business progressed. If you're currently working a full time job, this interview will also inspire you to see what is possible to create outside of working hours. [Tweet "A Strong Opinion Leads To Strong Opposing Opinions And Even Stronger Fans"] Making A Lot Of Money From A Small Audience Although I have heard of Erika from many years ago due to my own interest in the dating niche (thanks initially to Davide DeAngelo/Eben Pagan), this interview came about because Erika left a comment to my recent popular blog post - Blogging For Money Has Changed: Here Is How Smart Bloggers Can Profit In 2014 In her comment Erika noted that she agreed with my point how most people are too fixated by the amount of traffic you have and not the quality of your audience. Here is a snippet from her comment - The best time period I ever had, I made a quarter million dollars in six months during a time when my main site was getting only 1800 monthly visitors. That’s how much traffic and money were NOT correlated. Erika is a brilliant example of having a six figure business for many years based on a very small buying audience. It's her repeat customers, those who love what she stands for and teaches, who she focuses on and helps the most.  Lance Nelson: How To Start A Blog About A Ski Resort In Bulgaria And Turn It Into A 60,000 Euro Income Stream | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 56:47

If you ever needed inspiration that a small niche passion could be turned into an an income stream large enough to quit your day job, using just a blog, this is the story to listen to. [ Download MP3 | Transcript | iTunes | Soundcloud | Raw RSS ] Lance Nelson had a proper career as a corporate employee for various banks and financial institutions in the UK. He wasn't happy however and was dreaming of the day he could quit his job and improve his lifestyle. He was already a regular skier at the Bansko resort in Bulgaria, and decided that was his passion and would be the subject of his blog. Lance enrolled in my Blog Mastermind training course back when it was first offered. During after-work hours he got busy writing articles about Bansko and skiing. It was a slow journey, but Lance kept the faith. He continued to work hard and celebrated each small sign of success. Step-by-step he built up his income streams, which include advertising, selling ski packages and newsletter sponsorships, until he was making enough money to live comfortably in Bulgaria. Lance quit his job and now lives in Bulgaria full time, continuing to build his online business empire around his Bansko blog. Today he makes over 60,000 Euros a year and enjoys a much better lifestyle in Bulgaria. I Thought His Niche Was Too Small When I heard that Lance had picked not just a specific sport like Skiing, or not even a specific country for skiing, but had targeted just one ski resort for his blog, I thought that's way too narrow a niche to make a full time living from it. Well I was wrong. Lance proved that if you have a subject you are passionate about that includes some aspect of commerce around it - in this case people spending money to go on ski holidays - you can make a living from a very small niche blog. Listen to this interview and you will hear the exact steps that Lance went through to start his blog, what articles he wrote, how much traffic he attracted and what income streams he uses to make money. [Tweet "Yes You Really Can Make A Full Time Living Writing A Blog About Skiing"] What We Covered During The Interview Here's what we talked about during the interview - How Lance set up his blog, including what blogging platform he used, what theme and what system he uses for his email newsletter What Lance did to attract traffic to his blog during the first 12 months Lance talks about how he could work on his blog even while maintaining a full time job He explains all the different income streams he set up, including how he sells ski packages, advertising and newsletter sponsorship Lance also had an app created for his blog, which he talks about towards the end of the interview We review some of the key changes he made to his blog that brought him new visitors, for example doing video weather reports from on top of the mountains Lance gives advice for other people who have ideas about very small niches to show you it is possible to make a full time income Relevant Links Mentioned in this Interview Bansko blog The Essential Guide to Bansko Blog Mastermind

Muhammad Noer: How This Indonesian Entrepreneur Attracted 20,000 Subscribers And 1,000 Paying Members To His “How To Speed Read” Business | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 51:28

Muhammad Noer, or Noer as he likes to be called, was born in Sumatra Indonesia. As a side project while working his full time job, he started a personal blog because he wanted to get back into writing. His topics were speed reading and slide presentations, two subjects he is passionate about. [ Download MP3 | Transcript | iTunes | Soundcloud | Raw RSS ] Indonesia is huge, one of the most populated countries on the planet. However it's not as well developed in terms of technology infrastructure, nor is the Indonesian language world wide web as crowded with content resources. Noer of course was publishing everything in Indonesian, targeting his home country. He quickly grew his blog and then when he saw how much interest there was in speed reading and presentations, he started two websites dedicated to these topics - again in Indonesian. He started the speed reading one first, writing blog articles, then wrote a free ebook he gave away in exchange for joining his newsletter. He then created ten free videos about speed reading and used a mini-launch formula to promote his first training product on speed reading. His product is seven video modules, however he only produced the first two, sold the product, then created the remaining five as his early paying members went through the program. I was very impressed to hear this story because Noer followed the formula I teach in Membership Site Mastermind, but he did it in Indonesian, which I think is especially cool. Today Noer has over 1,000 paying members to his two products and over 20,000 subscribers to his websites. This Is A Must-Listen Interview For Non-English Bloggers Noer is an inspiration for any person who is interested in following the blog to newsletter to selling a training product model, and doing it in your native language. There is a huge opportunity in many countries around the world to be like Noer because the competition is not sophisticated. You can capture Google traffic because you will have an advantage knowing how to blog. [Tweet "You don't have to write in English to succeed as a blogger."] Listen to this interview and Noer will reveal everything he does to get traffic, create his products, what technology he uses for his newsletter, blog, and membership site, how he creates videos and a whole lot more.  Morgan Brown: How To Start A Blog About Home Loans As A Side Project, Turn It Into A $4,000/Month Income Stream, All While Still Working A Job | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 1:01:42

One of the wonderful pleasures of being a teacher online is you never know who is going through your materials and what they are doing with them. Years later people show up with amazing success stories, making big money, and you had no idea they were ever influenced by your work. [ Download MP3 | Transcript | iTunes | Soundcloud | Raw RSS ] Morgan Brown contacted me recently to talk about a company he works for called Qualaroo. During our email discussion Morgan told me he was a previous Blog Mastermind member and had actually gone on to build a profitable blog. Any time I hear about someone who took action and actually built a blog that makes money using the methodology I teach, I have to interview them to hear how they did it. You can now listen to that interview by clicking the play button above or downloading the MP3. Blogging About Mortgages Morgan previously worked in the mortgage world. He became quite experienced in the field, but did not like some of the practices going on in his industry. He decided to start a blog about it, which he began as a side project while maintaining his job (his job provided plenty of ideas for blog content). Initially his blog acted as a tool to help gain exposure for what he did at work, but as he studied more about blogging he realised it could become an income source. Eventually his blog became his full time project as his income reached the $4,000 to $6,000 a month level. Before he started blogging, Morgan's background was strong in traditional internet marketing, buying traffic, etc. He came across my Blog Profits Blueprint, loved it, and later became a member of Blog Mastermind when I taught it for the first time. Morgan then did something most people do not; he applied what he learned. As you will hear in the interview, Morgan would learn about powerful techniques and then go out and try them on his blog. For example, Morgan was initially writing shorter news posts, then read about my "Pillar Article" content format, and changed his writing style, which increased his traffic. He learned about conducting interviews, so he went out there and interviewed many of the leading bloggers and experts in his industry, leading to more traffic. Morgan was also innovative, coming up with ways to improve techniques. For example, in the second half of the interview you will hear how Morgan took the guest article writing idea and super-charged it, attracting over 100 new links to his blog. [Tweet "Why Most People Fail: They Do Not APPLY What They Learn"] What We Covered During The Interview Morgan was quite detailed in this interview, talking about the exact techniques he used with his blog. Here are some of the things you will learn about. How Morgan was able to start a grow a successful blog while still having a full time job (he talks about when he would write articles). What methods he used to make money, starting with AdSense and then growing to include affiliate marketing and direct ad selling using the OpenX ad platform. How he brought on new writers once he hit a content production ceiling, including how much he paid per article. Morgan talks about several of the traffic techniques ...

Thanks to his work studying resources available on the internet and hearing so many case studies of people who were making money online, Jules built up a strong theoretical framework for how to run an internet business. The problem was that it was all theory, no practice and thus no money. Finally Jules took the leap and started his first online projects. He enjoyed moderate success with a blog about the flip pocket camera selling cameras via the Amazon Associates affiliate program, and an online video show about parenting, however progress was slow and the income was far from enough to support him and his family. This all changed when Jules made two decisions - He added a newsletter optin form to his blog to start building a list He decided to create and sell a training product From there he went on to sell about $19,000 of his first training product, using a clever technique to create the product and find partners to promote it. Since then he has released three more training products and sold over $200,000 in the last two years, with sales still coming in daily. How Jules Does It Make sure you listen all the way through this podcast interview. I made sure Jules listed each technology tool he uses to put together his training products and how exactly he is able to find buyers and create product so quickly. He also does something that I think is very unique in our industry - he sells products that are just one or two videos, rather than creating large courses with multiple modules. He still charges $97 for them, and people find them valuable, so there is definitely a lesson to learn in how Jules creates his products. What We Covered During The Interview Here's what we talked about during the interview - Jules explains how he became a photographer and how that led to becoming involved in television production I asked Jules to explain exactly what he did as a director-producer, including what TV shows he worked on (I was geeking out a bit here) We then transition to how Jules left the TV world to start internet projects, including his first project - a blog about the Flip pocket camera Jules talks about some of his other projects, including an online video show about parenting, and details how much money he made from all these early projects We then take an in-depth look at Jule's first product, including how he created it, found people to sell it for him and what technology he uses to deliver all his materials We end the podcast by reviewing where Jules is at today, including what products he has and how he has managed to sell so many...

Lewis Howes: How A Tragic End To His Pro Football Career Led To Making Millions Online | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 1:04:18

Lewis Howes was a college football player in the USA, who had his career cut short due to a broken wrist injury sustained in a game. Lewis left the world of football with no income, no knowledge of how to make money or any job prospects. His sister provided a couch for him to sleep on, which he leveraged well by using the spare time to learn about how people were making money on the internet. [ Download MP3 | Transcript | iTunes | Soundcloud | Raw RSS ] Lewis became very active on LinkedIn and turned himself into one of the most well networked sporting personalities on the site. He leveraged his connections to start hosting LinkedIn meetup events in the real world, which gave him an income stream, albeit a very time consuming one. When Joel Comm invited Lewis to come talk about LinkedIn marketing on a webinar, the doors opened to a new income opportunity. Although a beginner to teaching online, Lewis loved the format and went on to become a full time LinkedIn marketing trainer, selling his teaching programs via webinars. Lewis co-founded an online teaching company that made several million dollars over a period of three years. He conducted over 700 webinars during this time, and then decided he had enough of teaching LinkedIn and similar subjects. He took a break, then just recently came back with a bang, starting a brand new business called the School of Greatness, which began with a podcast, and has now grown into a coaching program. As you will hear during this interview, the school is more like a movement that Lewis is proud to lead, than just a training course. [Tweet "What dream could you achieve if you told the world you would get it done in 30 days?"] Inspiration And The Practical All Wrapped Into One Interview This interview begins with Lewis explaining what he is up to today and some of the key highlights behind the principles he runs his life on (including how he learned to play the guitar and salsa dancing using immersion). We then recap his career in the usual Entrepreneurs Journey Podcast style. During the second half of the interview, things get very practical. Lewis explains exactly how he makes money and teaches other people to make money online, primarily using Webinars as the main marketing tool. He breaks down what tools he uses to build his email list, take payments, run his membership site and conduct his webinars. Here are some of the other things we talked about... How Lewis learned to play the guitar, salsa dancing and how he become a professional handball player. Lewis offers two examples of members in his program and how they have gone on to quickly earn thousands of dollars online. We also hear the different income streams Lewis currently personally has, including advising startups, a podcast, his coaching program and other various sources.  Dan Faggella: How Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Master Turned His Skill Into An Online Training Empire | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 1:21:01

Dan Faggella is a talented Brazilian Jiu Jitsu martial artist and trainer. He started a gym in his hometown, then when he hit growth limitations combined with the unfortunate collapse of the roof in his building, decided to go online and sell digital training products. [ Download MP3 | Transcript | iTunes | Soundcloud | Raw RSS ] He began by recording his training sessions to create a product and then threw himself deep into the world of internet marketing. Fast forward to today and Dan is making $45,000 in sales per month online promoting a range of Brazilian Jiu Jitsu digital products, with a sophisticated email marketing sales funnel and segmentation strategy. This is a LONG interview - over one hour and fifteen minutes - where Dan breaks down many of the key elements that make his business work. If you have ever wanted to take your offline practice or service business and transform it into an online digital training product business, you MUST listen to this. Dan was very generous with his time and open to all my questions. As a result, we got to really pull the curtain back and see how Dan does what he does. Dan's Survey During the interview Dan talked about how he basically "forces" his subscribers to fill out a survey so he can discover the motivation behind why a person has joined his email newsletter. Using the data he gets from the survey, he can then send tailored messages to certain segments with special offers for his products. This has proven to be a very effective strategy, enabling Dan to convert many more of his subscribers into paying customers. As we promised on the podcast, here is an example survey Dan uses - What We Covered During The Interview There are some absolute gold nugget techniques in this interview. In particular pay attention to how Dan first got traffic to his new product (this is something I have never heard anyone else do, and I have done a lot of interviews!) and his email segmentation techniques to increase sales. Here are some of the things we talked about... Dan explains how he became a Brazilian Jiu Jitsu figher and teacher, specialising in techniques for smaller people and how he opened a Gym to fund his university studies. Dan explains how he first created a digital product, then did interviews with top fighters and used them as a doorway to become a writer on many of the top BJJ magazines and blogs. We learn how Dan increased his exposure, including some very clever partnership techniques so he didn't have to become reliant on constantly doing launches to make money If you want to know exactly what "segmentation" is when it comes to email marketing, Dan explains exactly how he does it with surveys and tagging to his database [Tweet "Email segmentation secrets explained by @danfaggella in this revealing Entrepreneurs-Journey Podcast"] Websites Mentioned During The Interview Science of Skill MicroBJJ Infusionsoft Aweber Paypal Sixth Division Ontraport Office Autopilot Screencast Tim Reid's podcast
