 P.I.D. Radio 12/12/15: Open Source A.I. | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 48:26

TECH VISIONARIES Elon Musk, Peter Thiel, and LinkedIn co-founder Reid Hoffman are among a group that's announced a new non-profit artificial intelligence startup. The goal, apparently, is to make sure the first true AI is "good", and its backers say they've committed $1 billion to the project. This is an interesting development, considering that Musk previously compared building an artificial intelligence to "summoning the demon." Also: Prophecies of a Muslim caliphate and the return of Messiah by mystics Baba Vanga and the Vilna Gaon; bulk purchases of prepaid cell phones and stolen propane tanks have Missouri on edge; tangled alliances in the Middle East; and Israel trains against the anti-aircraft missile system Russia sold to Iran.  P.I.D. Radio 11/29/15: Dehumanizing | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 43:25

THE DEHUMANIZATION of Planet Earth continues as we make way for Humanity 2.0. In the news this week: Treating depression with emojis, biometric tattoos report your condition, robots programmed with free will, and robots for search and rescue (funded by the Defense Department)—or to replace a spouse who might one day get all your stuff in a divorce. Also: Mass cloning of animals in China for food and pets, social media replacing actual human contact, and multiple murder at a Planned Parenthood clinic in Colorado Springs.  P.I.D. Radio 11/22/15: Laughing Jack and the Black Knight Decoded | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 36:55

MEET THE new Slenderman—an evil clown named Laughing Jack. A 12-year old Indiana girl, diagnosed with Dissociative Identity Disorder, is being held at a juvenile detention center after allegedly stabbing her 50-year-old stepmother to death and setting their apartment on fire. Why did she do it? To please Laughing Jack. Her case is eerily similar to the Slenderman murders in Wisconsin last year. We speculate on the spiritual causes behind this tragedy and discuss the concept of the tulpa, essentially an imaginary friend that comes to life. Also: What's the deal with the new short film produced by Pepsi, Black Knight Decoded? It uses the myth of the Black Knight satellite to float a message of global unity (and membership in a galactic brotherhood).  P.I.D. Radio 11/8/15: Robots and Russian Roulette | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 40:07

WE'RE ALL going to live forever. Transhumanists just want to do it without dying. Today we discuss the drive for immortality through technology, which to us—living forever with unregenerate hearts—sounds like a recipe for Hell on Earth. We also discuss several stories related to Russia: Putin's goals in the Middle East, a possible partnership with Israel to develop the Leviathan natural gas field, the ongoing investigation into the crash of Metrojet flight 9268 in the Sinai, Russian programmers plant viruses on sensitive Pentagon computer networks, and the founder of Russia Today (RT) found dead in Washington, D.C. Also: SETI searches for radio noise from the "alien megastructure", secret military activity in the ocean near L.A., and all 20 of the "Worst Small Cities in America" are in California.  P.I.D. Radio 10/31/15: Spooky Asteroid and Comet Cocktails | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 32:18

AN ASTEROID will fly by Earth on Halloween at only 1.3x the distance of the Moon. If that wasn't eerie enough, the asteroid, nicknamed "Spooky", has been identified by astronomers as a dead comet — and it just happens to look like a human skull. Also: Comet Lovejoy spews alcohol and sugar into space; robots that can read your emotions; IS claims responsibility for tragic Russian airliner crash; insect-sized drones; and Putin positions Russia as the defender of Christendom.  P.I.D. Radio 10/24/15: Creepy Video Freaks Out the Internet | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 40:49

A CREEPY new video featuring a hooded character, dressed like a medieval plague doctor, presents a dark puzzle that apparently threatens U.S. President Barack Obama. As of today, nobody seems to know who created the video and what it really means. Also: More evidence of intrigue at the Vatican, UN initiative adopted by several US cities targets right-wing extremists, Parliament of World Religions pushes universalism, and Shiite Muslims commemorate 7th century Battle of Karbala with bloody self-flagellation.  P.I.D. Radio 10/17/15: Prelude to Dabiq | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 36:07

RUSSIA AND Iran have sent troops to a battle for Syria’s largest city, Aleppo. (So has Cuba, according to some reports.) There are a couple of implications to this battle, which began yesterday: Since Aleppo borders on the “Islamic State-free zone” proclaimed by Turkey and the U.S. last month, will the NATO allies have a problem when Russian tanks roll in? More significantly, the IS-free zone (which is definitely not IS-free) includes Dabiq, the village where the Islamic State believes it will fight a climactic battle against the forces of Rome (Christendom) before they go on to establish the global caliphate. How will the IS respond? Also: Mindfulness makes converts even in Christian churches, a recommendation for Annie Jacobsen’s history of DARPA (The Pentagon’s Brain), and scientists claim they can make Christians disbelieve in God — with magnets.  P.I.D. Radio 9/6/15: Freedom from Religion or Secular Sharia? | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 1:07:12

WE TEND not to be alarmists when it comes to Christian persecution. We’ve had a pretty good run in the United States over the last couple centuries. But things have shifted in recent years and it’s getting ugly. Think what you will of Kim Davis (the Clerk of Rowan County, Kentucky, who has refused to comply with the Supreme Court’s ruling on same-sex marriage and issue marriage permits to gay couples), some of the criticism she’s received is chilling—for example, equating her actions with sharia law. Lest we forget, the Islamic State marked the Supreme Court’s ruling by throwing four gay men off a rooftop and tweeted the pictures under the hashtag #lovewins. THAT is what sharia looks like. And frankly, some supporters of same-sex marriage are getting close to advocating sharia-type penalties for people who don’t share their worldview. Also: Blood Rave in Amsterdam; Cicada 3301; remembering Operation Blackjack; the “gospel” chorus that sang for Hillary; and living forever as a virtual social media profile. News! Sharon and Derek will be at Chuck Missler’s 10th annual Strategic Perspectives Conference! Featured speakers include Tom Horn, Gary Stearman, Joel Richardson, Bob Cornuke, Joseph Farah, and LTC Bob Maginnis. Details and registration at Koinonia Institute. Visit the P.I.D.  P.I.D. Radio 8/9/15: Crab on Mars, Werewolf in Brazil | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 1:01:13

IT’S SURPRISING how often otherwise respectable news outlets publish stories with little verification. Some are difficult to take seriously, such as the alleged werewolf prowling the streets of Ceilândia, Brazil, and some are intended mainly to raise questions (especially about human origins), such as the “Stonehenge in space” report about Comet 67-P. We also discuss Buzz Aldrin’s interesting expense report for Apollo 11, advances in genetics that could lead to really creepy mind control, the Blue Moon Murders in Escambia County, Florida, and how Black Hat hackers have figured out how to get your washing machine to spy on you. By the way: Derek was almost right about the Philae lander on Comet 67-P. The probe is looking for organic molecules (which means anything with carbon atoms), but the request of Professor Chandra Wickramasinghe to include a test for microbial life was denied during the planning stage of the mission 15 years ago.  P.I.D. Radio 7/5/15: Transcendence and Apotheosis | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 1:07:22

TRANSHUMANISTS AIM, generally speaking, to fulfill the promise made in the Garden: You shall be as gods. Today we discuss a variety of memes and news items related to the topic: A new theory of memory storage in the brain, research on connecting our brains to the cloud (and to a hive mind), and occult themes in the Johnny Depp film Transcendence.  P.I.D. Radio 6/14/15: Timey-Wimey, Wibbly-Wobbly | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 1:04:44

AS THE classic rock song goes, “Time keeps on slipping, slipping, slipping…into the future…” Thanks to quantum physics. it seems those lyrics might not be technically correct. A recent experiment with helium atoms demonstrated that, at the quantum level, time may run backwards, and reality does not even exist until it is observed. Some New Age teachers take this as confirmation of the Law of Attraction, or mind over matter — much to the annoyance of quantum physicists. Also: MERS and Avian flu continue to spread (and Ebola in West Africa is not quite dead); the Bilderberg Group meets this weekend; “Contact in the Desert” spreads the ancient alien gospel; California moves to eliminate personal belief exemptions for unvaccinated children;  and a child dies in Mexico, apparently sacrificed to Santa Muerte.  P.I.D. Radio 5/10/15: Theology from Fiction | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 1:00:58

THE TELEVISION series Dig is a well-written and stylish archaeological thriller, dramatizing an attempt by secretive groups of Christian and Jewish zealots to bring about the Apocalypse by destroying the Dome of the Rock, the mosque that is believed to occupy the site of Solomon’s Temple. We discuss elements of the show and the tendency of people — selves included — to incorporate fiction into our theology. Also: The ongoing bird flu disaster in the United States, a reoccurrence of Ebola in west Africa, implications of sacrificing religious freedom to gay marriage, and Rick Warren’s weight-loss guide named “Christian Book of the Year”.  P.I.D. Radio 4/26/15: Of Gods and Mountains | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 1:01:59

MOUNTAINS ARE shaking. A massive earthquake has left over 2,400 dead in Nepal, India, Bangladesh, and Tibet at last count, and that number will almost certainly grow in the hours ahead. Meanwhile, a volcano in Chile has unexpectedly erupted for the first time in 40 years, spewing a cloud of ash that’s reached southern Brazil. What’s more, people spotted something that looked like a giant in the cloud and some locals are convinced that it was a manifestation of the god of the volcano. This isn’t surprising. Mountains and volcanoes have been considered the abode of gods since the dawn of time. In fact, Eden was on “the holy mountain of God” (Ezekiel 28:13-14). And the climactic battle between the armies of heaven and the forces of Antichrist will be at Armageddon — har-mo’ed — the “mount of assembly” in the Holy Land, Mount Zion. See Cris Putnam’s excellent five-part article Armageddon: The OT Background to the Battle for the Cosmic Mountain. See also this paper by Dr. Michael S. Heiser, The Divine Council and Biblical Theology. Also: A virtual reality app that promises to reunite users with dead loved ones; Chinese scientists change human DNA for the first time; ETs and faith; personhood vs. human exceptionalism; H5N2 avian flu continues to spread; and fighting disease with cyborg cow sperm (cow sperm?).  P.I.D. Radio 3/22/15: Battle Stations | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 1:10:25

OUR FIRST program from our new home in the beautiful Missouri Ozarks! We discuss the changes that brought us here and some changes facing the Church: New Age practices infiltrating our churches and the ongoing assault of the Enemy on the family unit, which is the smallest battle formation in the ongoing spiritual war. Also: New video game based on Slender Man; Ebola resurgent; new strain of avian flu; and signs in the heavens. Visit the P.I.D. Radio Facebook page. Find links to the articles we discuss at P.I.D.  P.I.D. Radio 2/14/15: Been Here the Whole Time | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 59:39

ASTROPHYSICISTS ARE apparently beginning to rethink the idea of the Big Bang. A pair of researchers claimed this week that quantum mechanics suggest that the universe has always existed. The fact that erasing a starting point for the universe eliminates the need for a Creator is probably not coincidental. Also: Virtual reality goes mainstream as Google and Mattel counter Facebook’s purchase of Oculus with a VR Viewmaster; war fighting robots; Homeland Security takes over cybersecurity; religion and AI; shifting political sands in the Middle East; and bogus photos support claims of Russian military in Ukraine. Please join us Sunday mornings at 10:30 AM Central Time (UTC -6) for the Gilbert House Fellowship at www.GilbertHouse.org, a virtual gathering to study the scriptures in chronological order.
