Odds 'n' Sods 27/05/2007
I think I'm getting too cynical
A brand nude world
The last Arsecast in its current form sees a new record for the number of times I start sentences with "Anyway" or "Anyhoo" as well as some hilariously out of date news and reviews. Although in my defense my comments about Beast Invaders 3 were utterly right until I pointed them out to Bob Fearon and he fixed the issues I moaned about. The sod. And if it sounds indistinct it's because I have a cold coming on at the moment, and you can almost hear it worsen throughout the course of the podcast... In fact I think I'll use that as an excuse for the bit where I say "starve off sleep" instead of "stave off sleep". Dammit. Featured this month: RetroGamer CD, Ruff 'n' Tumble, Gibbage, Exile 2, Origami Hero, The Marriage, Zub, Operation Block, Death Village, Beast Invaders 3, Sumotori Dreams, The Magi, Gesundheit!, Chocolate Castle, Bernard and Hank 2, Membrane Massacre, Super Obliteration and Alien Shooter: Vengeance.
This month I am super-late because of a combination of over-reaching myself in terms of sound effects, and shoddy software. Also laziness, but that's a constant. Next month, a change in format - no more bloody sound effects! Featured this month: Autofire Compo 2007, Calculator-Me-Do Compo, Aquaria, The Zeebys, TIG Forums, Tim's Top Tens, Veck 2, The Underside, GUXT, Blast Miner, Gish 2, Death Village, Penumbra Overture, La Mulana, Riders On The Storm, Clean Asia, Marvellous Twilight, Force Majeure, Stack Attack and Reactor 9.
Disgracefully late as always and boasting an extra ten minutes of cruft to compensate. This month we have news, reviews, previews, awards and a competition. And if any of this is inaccurate, it's because I've been drinking. Featured this month: Driller, Exile 2, G-Force, Calculater Compo, Blitz 50, Ruff 'n' Tumble, Sorcery#, 3D Deathchase-a-like, Blast Miner, La Mulana, Cypherians Systems, Tormishire, Alien Shooter Vengeance, Super Columbine Massacre RPG Debacle, The Treasure Of Montezuma, The Zeebys, The Underside, Havoc Zone, Mr Robot, TV-Man, Galshell 2, Guardian Of Paradise, X-Avenger, Thrust XTreme, Gravitron, Scavenger and more!
It's Christmas! And to celebrate that fact, this Arsecast is not only late (but only so it's nice and close to the big day - arf!) but it's also about ten minutes longer than usual, running for a whole twelve minutes! ;) Featured this month: Mr Robot, Ruff 'n' Tumble, Saucerlifter, The Wonderful Wizard Of Oz, Cortex Command, The Underside, Hero 2, Typhoon 2001, Knytt, Darkside Adventures, Ikachan, Die Die Galaxy, B-Intruders, Gamma Brothers, Paroxysm, Spud's Quest, Return Of Egypt, Mr Pratt and Weird Worlds: Return To Infinite Space.
Another episode with inconsistent acoustics, me with a blocked up nose and the sound of me blowing into the mic because I don't have a plosive shield. Feel the quality. Oh, and there's some stuff about games and **** in there. Right, I'm off to buy a dirst class dicket to Dottingham. Featured this month: Meteos Rip-off, Thrust XTreme, G-Force, Keith Goes Painting, Cultivation, Venture The Void, Polarity+, Neon Wars, Poing, Fizzball, D.N.A., Blast Miner, StarTag 8000X, Demolition Gunner In Seek And Destroy, ZCorb.
Two days late and several dollars short. Again with disgracefully inconsistent accoustics, a strange buzz behind parts of it and a dirty great section with an annoying reverb on it which I put in on purpose. Also it's in 96Kbps this month because the last one sounded well rough... As a fun drinking game try having shot every time I start a sentence with the word "Now" or "Also" - you'll be pissed by the twelve minute mark. Next month I'll be trying something new and recording in a more comfy environment so I don't spend the entire podcast sounding like I have a stick up my arse. To further aid this, I'll be removing my walking stick - which I keep up my arse. Featured this month: Aquaria, G-Force, Jet Set Willy Online, Addictive Football, Sensational Soccer, Thrust XTreme, Dot Fighters, Cave Story Remix Project, Atic Atac, Pixelships Retro, Zombie City Tactics, Acter World, Gumboy Crazy Adventures, Starlit Zone Fighter, La Mulana, GLFrontier, XWars, Lethal Judgement 3: End Game, Deep Ball Defender, Schlong, Dungeons Of Fargoal, Sword Of Fargoal.
Patently wrongfaced opinions of the Retro Remakes competition 2006 and a bit of news and stuff. Apologies for the sound quality and gradual increase in volume, but I had to stitch this together from about a billion takes. Also sorry to James Redfern about the music debacle and thanks to Neil W for the CSS and RSS stuff. Although I ain't figured out the RSS stuff yet. This is version B, as I left a dirty great error in the first upload. If you keep that version it'll probably be worth a fortune in years to come, like one of those stamps with an upside-down plane on it but with a pillock fluffing his lines repeatedly instead. Featured this month: Retro Remakes 2006 Competition Entries, Gibbage 2 Feedback Blog Post, Darkside Adventures, Gametunnel Magazine, Swarm Racer, WarMachine Overload, Jaguar Ex Hellfire, Bollen, Pizza Panic, Pekka Kana 2, AlphaSix, The Blob.
