| Not Another Locals' Show # 15 | So far this year, we've featured over 80 different bands from Memphis and the Midsouth. To close out 2006, we thought we'd give out a few honorable mentions. We're playing a couple of songs from three area bands and offering up a bit of critical praise on why we enjoyed them.
This is a slightly condensed version of the show for the holidays; this is the "taint" of the season - St. Taint; got big balls?; we don't care how good or bad your recording is as long as the music is fun; feeling the passion; our "millieu?"; Frank talks about webisodes and Beans corrects him - here's some of the reasoning we missed on the actual recording:
Don't say webisode because what we're doing here is not called webisodes - these are episodes. People who don't know what their talking about call their podcast installments "webisodes." Per wikipedia a webisode is:
"... a webcast episodic video show. It is similar in structure to a television series and usually new episodes are published on a periodic basis through a website or some other internet based medium. Typically shows have short runs (about 5 episodes) but some go on for much longer. Content varies greatly and sometimes the webisodes are just to push some other content (such as an upcoming film)."
A good example of a local series of webisodes comes from our buddies at Danger Couch.
Other pet peeves; driving in Memphis and trying to make a right-hand turn; Merry Christmas - let me over, bitch; reverse-reverse psychology from Frank's brother; MATA pub crawl; legal contracts from rubbing the Buddha in our studio; hints at what we're planning in 2007; Beans talks about being good people and being in a band - these do not have to be mutually beneficial traits; Beans had a drinky-drinky, but no drinky-pukey; celebrating All Taints Day; Frank offers the olive branch to Ronald in Michigan.

| Not Another Locals' Show # 10 | Aloha and welcome to episode 10 of Not Another Locals' Show! This episode was recorded while recovering from a roller derby bout and a kick ass local show with Arma Secreta and the Coach and Four. Podshow girl, Amber, joins us at the end of the show!
Carroll from Slamhound is in the studio with us; shout out to Jake from the U.K.; recap from the inaugural bout of the Memphis Roller Derby league - way to go Angels of Death; 'Lil Sinner is the Not Another Locals' Show! player of the week; cheesy roller derby announcer - "...did I say 'Period?' "; AoD's queer leader; Beans goes to a show and meets Lauren and Charlie; it is never a good idea to dance to math rock; the dogs say "hi;" myspace battle of the bands; the coolest band to play with in town; Nathan/Joe Pesci @ the Rally Point; quit knockin' on the fat guy at McDonald's who orders Diet Coke; three languages to a dessert; word of the day is "polyglot;" more talk of patchouli; benefit for Hal MacCormick who was attacked by assholes on Beale Street; reintroduction of the word: "disporportionate;" changing your band's name; the actual song where Beans and Frank rap; disclaimer that even though we're active musicians, we don't use the podcast to push our own music.

| Not Another Locals' Show # 9 | We're releasing episode 9 a little early this week since both Frank and Beans will be otherwise engaged over the next few days - we wanted avoid just skipping an episode, so we figured moving this one up a few days wouldn't hurt... We should be back on our regular Thursday schedule for episode 10 on November 23rd! One special note for this week's podcast: Beans had a lot of trouble with the background music and apologies to Burney Warren for allowing a hint of said background track-age to seep through while playing "When You Talk Like That."
Meet Zell Bent, Sid-less Nacy and Buns 'n' Roses from Memphis Roller Derby! Frank and Beans learn about Roller Derby; myspace takes away indie band, Bones, myspace page and gives it to Fox Network's TV show "Bones" - then, Myspace Tom gives it back! Beans runs through a list of really bad website URL's (courtesy of mistupid.com); 6 degrees of Roller Derby bacon; Beans successfully gets through the show without using the "D" word, but Frank doesn't; there will be beer and kids at the roller derby bout - you can drink a beer while your kids (under 17) can hang out with derby girl-babysitters; the first ever rap act on Not Another Locals' Show reminds the guys of the time when Frank tried to teach Beans how to rap; you too can join the Memphis Roller Derby league - even if you don't want to skate! Frank gets new talent by "falling upon" them; pulses are optional for the guys; if you're a local band, get out and play; is "extra patchouli" ever a good thing? Roofies give you that warm and fuzzy feeling late at night, just like the creepy guy laughing on our outro music...

| Not Another Locals' Show # 8 | Thank you for flying NALS airlines. Please familiarize yourself with the emergency exits; in the event we encounter too much original Rock and Roll, you may be forced to use them. The in-flight movie has been replaced with episode number 8, featuring six original songs from Midsouth artists... This is Captain Beans; on behalf of co-pilot Frank and Fat Sam (the wonder dog), we hope you have a good flight!
Sally T and Dan are in the house; enormous plate of Neil's Nachos save the night; hot sauce lip stick; some countries register Not Another Local's Show listeners as dissdents; Metaprod = Metaether (that's George Galloway...he's a member of Brit parliament...he has been an active politician in defense of Iraq (or the effects of our policies, better put) since the first gulf war...he was investigated during our Senate's oil-for-food investigation...what you hear on the track is part of his deposition while sitting before our politicians, basically readin' 'em the riot act about their own responsibilities... ); all about mail order brides; a request for Chelsea; Frank is a "humorous slant;" farting can save you if/when you're stranded on a deserted island; Beans offer to buy a beer for anyone (at his favorite drinking establishment) who emails him about using the word "disporportionate," in next week's episode; rants about dog breed enthusiasts but Beans doesn't quite catch on; homes away from home.

Is the intro music too long? We taped this show before a live studio audience; say "Hi!" to Rebecca (Your Neighborhood Dumbass), Lisa the Starfighter Pilot, and Amber "the-no-myspace-name!" Newsworthy items of the week include the rejection of the Dixie Chicks documentary commercial and Dilbert's creater can talk, again; it's always safe to say your band sounds like the Foo Fighters when people ask what kind of music you play; Rudy is cool; Frank starts a conflict with "Forever is Agony" - because (among many things) they talk to us in the third person - and urges everyone to join them as a myspace friend and leave them a "you-are-a-dumbass" comment; our newest listeners are from the Netherlands - welcome! 'True or false' fun facts; Frank chooses brisket over fried Coke; cell phone + driving rant: "shut up and think for yourself;" shows to see include Signal the Chief/Simon/Friend of No Bueno @ Neils on Nov 4th & Giant Bear @ the Young Ave Deli on Nov 18th!

| Not Another Locals' Show #6 | This is episode #6 and you're not another local listener of fine Memphis independent rock music!
Frank starts the show off without any pity for Beans and his difficulty adjusting to his new job; Lee (from the band Simon) wrote us and pointed out grammatical mistakes we made during the last episode - we point out our own grammatical errors to make Lee's job easier this time around; Not Another Local Band! has been asked to help place local bands each mile of this year's St. Jude Marathon - send us an email if you want to be a part of it; more on chick rock; Chuck Norris vs. every stingray on the planet; the Pope may have to stock up on condoms; a little prog rock, a little ska is always good; telling people what to do - another rant by Frank on what not to do; fried Coke; standing too close to your Picasso; no more "tag" in Boston; drunk bears being hunted with sporks and fried coke; local bands should use podshow.com - it's the smart way to market your tunes for free.
