| WOLFMAN REVIEW: Improve Upon A Classic? Oh Yes. | Play in Popup. | http://YourGeekNews.com - Let's preface this review with the fact that Matt is quite possibly one of the biggest werewolf aficionado's on the planet, having watched any and every lycanthropic-film in the last hundred years. And nothing but nothing compares to The Wolf-Man. Except, of course, The Wolfman. Faithful in all the right ways, and yet unafraid to weave a more complex storyline with more extreme Werewolf rampages, an even more foreign origin story, and an ending that will knock your socks off. Yes, that's right, there's a new Wolfman in Blackmoor, Chaney, and he can howl with the best of them. ~Matt + Nat |

| REVIEW: Capricast 1.03 – Reins of a Waterfall | Play in Popup. | In the wake of Amanda's announcement of Zoe's involvement in the MAGLEV bombing, Caprica is ramping up momentum more and more with each episode... and with the addition of BSG's Luciana Carro (Kat) and Christian Tessier (Duck) not to mention a few cameos from Stargate alumni, it feels like the Graystones and Adamas are in even more familiar surroundings already. We've got a two week break thanks to those pesky Olympics, so in lieu of a new Caprica episode, we hope you get a kick out of Capricast 103, as well as a jump on our new contest for the title sequence of our show!~Matt + Nat |

| BURIED SNEAK PEEK | Play in Popup. | http://YourGeekNews.com - Watch clips from the film and see Ryan & Rodrigo the night of the Sundance premiere! When we heard that Ryan Reynolds teamed up with Spanish Director Rodrigo Cortes to make a film that takes place exclusively in a coffin for 90-minutes, we were terrified and intrigued. When it rocked Sundance and got a $3-Million Lionsgate distribution deal right after its premiere, we were sold! |

| AVATAR REVIEW: Ho... Lee... Frak. | Play in Popup. | http://YourGeekNews.com - James Cameron definitely made the most of nearly 15 years and 300 Million dollars making Avatar, because it looks and feels completely unlike any movie ever. Maybe it's the tasteful use of 3D technology, maybe the striking resemblance the CG characters have to their human actor equivalents, or maybe it was the fact that an entirely computer generated world actually felt REAL for the first time ever, but Avatar definitely knocked us both out... what about you? |

| ASTRO BOY REVIEW: Onward and Upward | Play in Popup. | http://YourGeekNews.com for more! After having our hopes for a good Japanese cartoon adaptation dashed by the Wachowski’s Speed Racer, our hopes were high for Imagi Studios to bring us some good old-fashioned CGI manga true to the original. And bring it they did. In the form of a very well made kids movie that brought us both back to the early 80’s. And treated us like we had the same brainpower we had in the 80’s. A childrens’ movie 100%, Astro Boy fires on all cylinders for kids, and gives parents a good excuse to watch a cartoon inspired by their own childhood. So if you don't have any, go borrow some kids from someone you know, and you’ll look right at home in the theatre!~Matt + Nat |

Not to mention getting it signed by President Laura Roslin herself. And at last, we announce the winner of the Mary McDonnell signed Season 4.5 set, along with our thoughts on the DVDs themselves. Hot on the heels of this baby is our review of The Plan, along with details on how you can win dinner with Admiral Adama!~Matt + Nat |

| REVIEW: WHERE THE WILD THINGS ARE | Play in Popup. | We both had very mixed about Wild Things. But even with Nat not finding anything to sympathize with in the character of Max, and Matt finding the narrative run out of steam halfway through, we still couldn't find it in our hearts to dislike this movie. It's just somehow very special in spite of any faults is may have. Between the gorgeous effects work, incredible voice talent and breathtaking cinematography of a world we've never really seen before, Jonze did manage to capture something with this movie. That something just wasn't a perfect film. ~Matt + Nat |

| ZOMBIELAND PREVIEW: Horror/Comedy/Buddy/Road-Movie | Play in Popup. | Woody Harrelson and Jesse Eisenberg look like they make an incredible comedic duo in Ruben Fleischer's directorial debut, Zombieland, but there's a delicate balance to ride between that comedy and the horror elements that makes Zombie movies really knock it out of the park. We're both easily as excited about this one as we were about any summer movies that came our way, whether that's because Matt loves him some Sam Raimi-style horror/comedy or because Nat has an abnormally active imagination when it comes to surviving a Zombie pandemic, you can bet we'll be inline for the midnight screening! ~Matt + Nat |

| SURROGATES REVIEW: Where's Steeplejack? | Play in Popup. | Did Bruce Willis and Jonathan Mostow do justice to the critically acclaimed five-part comic written by Robert Venditti? You already know from the trailers that the stakes have gone up from the comic plot: now the operators die as well when the surrogates are fried. But did that ruin the entire motivation of "Steeplejack"? Or does this change in the plot give a whole new and higher message to Surrogates? Check out our review, it's Spoiler-free at first and then quite Spoileriffic as we examine Surrogates as a standalone film, and then as an adaptation. ~Matt + Nat |

| BSGcast: Interview with Kandyse McClure | Play in Popup. | Everyone seems to have loved our interview with Mary McDonnell so much, that we decided to keep it up! So at DragonCon we managed to sit down and chat with a few more of the incredible actors that brought us some of the characters we know and love from BSG, to get a bit of insight into how they experienced the show from their perspective. First up, Matt chatted with the beautiful and talented Kandyse McClure who played Anastasia Dualla for almost the entire run of the series... almost. So consider this your spoiler warning! From her thoughts on the growth of her character, to what she's up to now, Kandyse gives us a great peek into what makes her, and Dee, tick!~Matt + Nat |

| INGLOURIOUS BASTERDS PREVIEW: Tarantino's Macaroni Combat | Play in Popup. | Quentin is bringing us something the world hasn't really seen in theatres since the 70's -- a spaghetti western style World War II movie set in Nazi Germany behind enemy lines. With Brad Pitt... that part's new. With a great cast of international talent, at least three languages and more Nazi scalping than you can put in a single movie trailer, it looks like Tarantino's latest is a sight to behold. At least, that's what the folks at the Cannes Film Fest thought. What about you? Let us know what you're expecting! Another piece of genius from the world's biggest movie fan? Or a disappointing over-the-top action movie from a screenwriter whose greatest asset lies in dialogue? ~Matt + Nat |

| TRANSFORMERS 2 PREVIEW: Revenge, Anyone? | Play in Popup. | If you go back to our 2007 review on http://YourGeekNews.com, Matt was on a bit of a tirade about how terrible of an adaptation Michael Bay’s first Transformers film was. Now that all the wounds have healed, Bumblebee is a Camaro, Jazz is dead and Optimus has flames on his trailerless tractor trailer, it’s time to see if this re-imagined Transformerverse has a good story to tell in it. We’ve got three scenes to share with you that give you an idea of what to expect from the T2… wait, that acronym is already taken. Either way, we hope you enjoy our take on almost 5 minutes of theatrical footage from the film! ~Matt + Nat |

| STAR TREK PREVIEW: Exclusive Scenes and Interviews | Play in Popup. | Shatner's out, Picard hasn't been born yet, Odo is still a pile of goo and Janeway? Who's that? J.J. Abrams has taken Star Trek into the realm of James Bond, Doctor Who and Batman, making Kirk, Spock and Bones larger than the actors who play them. Yes, he's re-cast every single role in an attempt to breathe new life into one of the longest running film and tv franchises in history. We've got an exclusive first look at scenes from Star Trek, as well as interviews with J.J, Chris Pine, Zachary Quinto and the rest of the all-new cast of the original series. Matt's a HUGE trekkie, and Nat not so much, so there will be PLENTY to look forward to in our review next week! ~Matt + Nat |

| WOLVERINE REVIEW: Multiple Endings = Multiple Viewings? | Play in Popup. | To say that Wolverine has multiple endings isn't exactly correct, but it does have multiple post-credit bonus scenes. Much like the post-credit Nick Fury scene in Iron Man, or the Tony Stark scene in Incredible Hulk, X-Men Origins: Wolverine gives you a reason to sit through the credits… and it’s hard to know which one you’ll be getting since Gavin Hood has put at least two different versions out in theatres, that we know of. We’ve seen two different endings, one that’s Deadpool-centric and once that’s Japan-based, but it won't take long to get to the bottom of how many there are, and to see them all! ~Matt + Nat |

| WOLVERINE PREVIEW: Turns out Hugh Jackman actually IS Wolverine | Play in Popup. | With interviews with Hugh Jackman, Liev Schreiber, Ryan Reynolds, Daniel Henney and director Gavin Hood, the advanced preview clips we've got for you from Wolverine are high octane, funny, and classic Wolverine; just the thing to make Matt want to grow a mean set of mutton chops year round! It's been three movies of watching Logan share the screen with other mutants while we pretended he wasn't the main character... and now we don't have to pretend anymore. X-Men Origins: Wolverine centres on everyone's favourite Candian Ball of Berserker Rage, and makes no apologies for it. With Hugh Jackman producing the film as well as starring, it looks like the man who might just know Logan best is shouldering a lot of the responsibility in bringing us his origin story well. ~Matt + Nat |

| CapriCast - Matt + Nat Review the Pilot | Play in Popup. | It is upon us.The Direct-To-DVD release of Caprica was April 21st and with the Blood, Boobies and Human Sacrifice that we’ve been privy to seeing so far, it looks like Ron Moore managed to skirt the TV-Gods and Censors quite elegantly by releasing in on DVD first. There have been quite a few times in his podcasts that he mentioned how the TV version of a Battlestar Episode wasn’t quite his ideal cut (for either time or network restrictions) but with Caprica available for first viewing as an unspoiled DVD version, we’ll be sure to watch what Ron wants us to see Battlestar is over, long live Caprica! ~Matt + Nat |

| REVIEW: "X-Men Origins - Wolverine" Workprint | Play in Popup. | Thanks to an industry contact who has to remain nameless, we’ve managed to get our hands on a copy of the much publicized Wolverine Workprint… and boy do we have some things to say about it! Some good, some not so good, but this version is by no means the final film we’ll be seeing in theatres in May. It, in fact, is the version that lead to Fox commissioning millions of dollars in re-shoots and changes. Will that make it better? Worse? There’s no way to know yet, but this will give us some rare insight to the process of making a blockbuster!~Matt + Nat |

| BSGcast 4.19 - "Someone to Watch Over Me" | Play in Popup. | This episode gave us shivers in all the right places and all the wrong places… it’s been a while since Battlestar delivered SO solidly on both stories in an episode, but in this run up to the end, we can definitely expect more of it. Between the Helo/Boomer/Athena affair and Starbuck playing piano with her head-father, “Someone to Watch Over Me” Has definitely given us a serious tee-up for the next three episodes to come! Since we were just in Orlando for MegaCon this weekend, we have a nice added gift for the “Fan of the Week” from this week’s comments, so have a look, make a comment, and hopefully you’ll win! ~Matt + Nat |
