Jackumentory Experience
|
|
Jackumentory, is something of a vision, a documentary if you wish to call it, of this acapella and everything that has ever evolved out of house music everything from the Chicago Jack in, acid, Latin, tribal/tech house genres that many know and love today the world over . It's mission is revive this culture that has taken a back seat in the clubs with the emergence of electro and minimal dance music not that there anything wrong with electro or minimal, it is something that has saturated our clubs, radios and our lives leaving no room for the house music that so many people love. Most of all Jackumentory is about choice, freedom to dance to inspire many to open their minds and hearts to let there be HOUSE!

jackumentory Experience Podcast Episodes - | The Jackumentory Experience | MrHun in'a Blend'a Vol4 - Against All The Odds | Hello There!
Due to a number of technical issue's prior to and during my show, I had to abandon putting out the podcast. So, in its place I thought I would push my lastest mix for the just for a short time only.
So The Mix....
I've had this mix in the pipeline for sometime, in fact the last 3 -4 months.... I work on a mix 5-6 times a week, and some are good and others just dont feel right.... Not that I don't like the music I have, but for me, there are always a couple of tracks that I keep swapping in and out, and then I end up going for a classic to replace and then eventually I just drop the lot and let the music take control.... Thats what the MrHun In'A Blend'a series is fundamentally about.... For Vol4, I went for something new and something old and there were quite a few tracks that I wanted to include but I think I can get the message across with what I have put together..... So if you know the title of the tracks playin played, tag it and make the playlist for anyone else who wants to know.... Sharing is caring after all ;)
As for the intro, well, its a classic scene from national lampoons cult classic Animal House, the original college boy mischief and mayhem film that many have followed..... But when faced with adversity, as these guys where, you can sit there and look at things, and think how? and why? and also what now? because everything looks bleek and at an end, when in reality you can get up and do something about it and rebel to hit back to keep things going and alive.... Sound Famailiar, well, I can certainly say that I've felt the pinch over the last few years, and have at times thought that i have it all stacked up against me and the odds aren't looking to great! This is my way of sayin you know, FTP! It aint happening, house music lives and has so much more to give, and I have to give back.... because you only fail if you give up!
I hope you enjoy the mix.... Take care!

| The Jackumentory Experience | Special Guest Nick Ronin | Happy 2010 Friends and family!
I hope everyone had a great New Year and have their resolutions all set and ready to take over the world! :)
It's officially winter here in the UK, and as the world is calling it the "cold snap" that has taken Great Britain into its first winter wonderland for some 20 years (or there about). Yes it’s cold, and there is plenty of snow and ice all over the shop, but its a great excuse to sit in doors and watch old movies (preferably James Bond ones) and chill with the warming sounds of good music!
As it's the 1st show of the year, we at the Jackumentory Experience wanted to start things are off with a bang by bringing some warmth to the cold days that everyone is experiencing. On this weeks show we introduced a special guest mix from a very good friend of the Jackumentory Experience, another Londoner infact, Sir Nick Ronin.
Nick's mix really reminds me of reading a good book. It starts of with an introduction to the leading character and the basis of the story for the adventure that is about to unfold. It’s a mix of a true journey man; solid progression with every beat to interpret the drama of the scene in the story that sets the mood. It really is a great mix, and very fittingly titled "Along Time Coming", because we have been waiting for Nick to lay down something for a while and there has been talk of him being a guest of The JackExperience for sometime, and as a 1st guest for 2010, well what can we say, its the perfect way to start as we mean to go on! Please feel free to show some love to the man, buy checking out his very own house music movement, info provided below.

| The Jackumentory Experience end to 09 | Hey Guys and Girls!
I hope everyone is well and ready to see out 09 in style and welcome 2010 with open arms.
Here is the last show of the year for the Jackumentory Experience Radio Show. This show isn't just a show that just reflects the year gone past, it really represents a passing of yet another decade of house music. When I think back, I have seen through 3 decades of house and for me, it pretty much gets better and better. I say this because there are some great producers that are showing such great potential with their music, I am not making reference to any particular style of house, because its all sounding great to me. I will say this though, with regards to producers, my hot tip for 2010 will be to look out for these guys as I feel that they will be the talent to really take house music to the next level: -
Makam - This dude has had some great rolling releases on the likes of 'SushiTech Purple' and 'So We So', and has worked remixes for Freerange, 20/20 vision. For someone that hails from Holland, he certainly has got that ol'skool New York deep bumpin style down to the T. You can find out more from him by checking out his http://www.myspace.com/sexymakam page.
Rey Aguilar - This young blood was brought to my attention by my wife while she was in the US touring. She first meet Rey @ The Sol festival in south Pardre Island, but this boy hails from the small town of McCallen, in Texas. As a DJ, he really has something special to offer, as his chioce of music is coming from a very educated mind and considering that he is only 21, his production skills really shows that this young blood is about to blosom into a talent that again will bring some freshness to the house scene. You can listen to a mix of his by checking http://virb.com/brickcityhouse/audio/458224 and you can follow his hustle @ http://www.myspace.com/reyaguilar; Also, word on the grapevine is that his 1st album is due to be released on 'Pet Food' at the end of Jan 2010, I've heard and love it! Check it!
These are just 2 guys that I feel breaths freshness to house. I have so much more that I could list with regards to labels and other producers and DJ's that are really opening my eyes to the bigger picture.
I want to thank all the guests that I have had on the Jackumentory Experience Radio show over the past 2 years, guys like Chris Simmonds, Giom, Alejo Galvez, Jason Hodges, Demarkus Lewis, SmokinGroove, Lee Jarvis, Discourged One etc etc, basically I wish everyone from the regular listeners and all that downloads my shows a big thank you and big love for 2010. Its gonna be a landmark year for music!
I hope you all enjoy the show!
Take care and have fun!

| Jackumentory Experience 16th Dec 09 | Hey Folks,
How is everyone? Feellin fine I hope :)
Its winter here in the UK and boy am I feeling the cold, I know it might not be as cold as the northern most hem places but its still cold.... brrr
Anyway, here is the podcast for last nights show, I had such great fun doing it.... And I think that was to do with the inspiration from a few avenues; for example, the great music that I am finding out there from actually looking for the music.... Let me explain.... You see I don't ever look at the chart 100's across any of the websites nor do I look at any of the charts from artists or producers that get posted up there.... Let me explain why, and its not because I am a snob or anything, I just dont let myself be influenced by them... You see I used to love traveling around london hittin up all the record shops asking to go through stacks and stacks of vinyl, and with the digi sites I like to do the same.... Here's my method;
I select a letter of the alphabet and choose a label at random from under that letter.... sounds long I know, but i get that same excitement as i did when hitting the record stores and discovering those little hidden gems and I get that further enjoyment by playin them.... Most of the music may be old, and the beauty of that is the fact that they are new to me, or its tracks that I have heard and have just discovered them because Ive not been able to find them, so thats the uber cool part of it :) I have my fav producers and labels which I do check out 1st but then I trawl through and thats what I look forward too most. So, despite the fact I dont purchase vinyl like I used to, I still like to do the same thing in purchasing my music.
Discovery is a beautiful thing!
I hope you enjoy the show, and thanks to everyone thats listens in weekly and downloads my show weekly.... I'm forever grateful! I promise to keep beatin it as long as you keep dancing to it...:)
