After a pitiful performance at LSU, the Huskies seal the deal by stinking up the joint against Marquette.  The first half was one of the worst I have ever seen played.  These Huskies are young, but I am starting to wonder if we are just using that as an excuse.  Let's be honest, doesn't this look like a team headed for the NIT?Calhoun will have his hands full the remainder of this season as a teacher.  Clearly this team can be good..... But when will it happen?

Hustle, hustle, hustle......Three words to describe this game.  Outstanding guard play.  Dyson, Price, Austrie and Wiggins looked fantastic.  Wiggins has to be the player of the game.  Man, is that guy quick!No TV for Sunday's game vs. Texas Southern.  That sucks.

Three games consolidated into one podcast.  In this episode I take a look at the victories over Central Arkansas, Fairfield and Ole Miss.  Dyson was on-again, off-again.  AJ showed the college basketball world that he has, indeed, arrived.  Jeff Adrien continues to be the most consistent player on the team: 4 double-doubles in 4 games.  Not a bad way to start the season!What's the deal with the fans at HCC?  I complained about this a lot last year,  but this season has been pathetic.  If the fans in Connecticut can't get excited over a team like this, then I suspect they will never be quite satisfied.  Wake up people!

Every new season has to start somewhere, and this was as good a place as any for the Huskies to begin their 2006 - 2007 campaign.  As to be expected, the Huskies  showed a lot of immaturity and inexperience, but also showed a ton of promise.  This group will be a lot of fun to watch for the next few years.  Overall, this went as well as any UConn fan could have expected.  I'll cut them some slack for a few months... REVENGE!!! ...and it never tasted so sweet! The Huskies avenge their five-point loss 13 days ago by beating up the overmatched Wildcast. UConn continues to show that it is the team to beat going into March. Also, why won't Billy Packer just keep his mouth shut?

The Huskies rebound from the loss at Villanova with a convincing win in Morgantown. UConn's front line proved to be bigger, deeper and significantly more talented than that of WVU. Discussions also include Cal and Leon Powe - wow, is that guy good - as well as why the USF Bulls really got the short end of the stick.

All good things must come to an end, and so shall UConn's ride at #1. This was a very tough and talented Nova team that beat the Huskies tonight. Ultimately, I believe it was free throws that decided this one. I have said all season that their poor shooting from the line would cost them a game at some point, and it was a MAJOR factor tonight. A piece of basketball etiquette for the Villanova students: Fans of the #4 team typically don't rush the court.

Lucky podcast #13 proved to be VERY unlucky for Seton Hall. Even a snowstorm on the East Coast couldn't stop 14,000 fans (and those of us watching on TV) from seeing UConn absolutely dismantle a very good Seton Hall team. The scary part is that only two starters finished in double figures (scoring). Could they have won this one by 100 if they wanted to? Probably. No use dwelling on this one, and as a result the podcast is pretty short. Focus your energy and gear up for Villanova on Monday night, rather than pick apart this one.

A nice win over a tough PC team. No double overtime necessary this time!! Hilton Armstrong scores 16 with 12 rebounds and 3 blocks. Also, pondering how to remove "pet stains" from a carpet.

The #1 Huskies grind out a win against a VERY physical and tough St. John's team. Technicals were called a,d Jeff Adrien got himself ejected, but the officials never lost control of the game. In the end it was a satisfying win for UConn... Despite shooting 62% from the free throw line. You know what? UConn is ranked #1 in the country. I'm going to sit back and enjoy it for a while.

This file contains the exact same audio as the other file with the same name. The only difference is that THIS ONE IS AN MP3 FILE. THe others, to date have been AAC (rather than MP3). Going forward I will be saving as MP3's so that the audio can be played on virtually any jukebox/MP3 player. With the AAC file, you are limited mostly to iTunes/iPod. In the download stats, however, not everyone is using iTunes. Because I want everybody to be able to listen to this podcast I'll be using MP3 going forward.

Big Monday is off to a BIG start (in the BIG EAST). A discussion of the "Boo Birds" in Hartford as well as a recap of the game which resulted in a UConn victory by a score of 70-59. Hilton Armstrong was by far the player of the game with his double-double. Marcus Williams looked spectacular as well. Watching the game, you never had the sense that the Huskies were going to lose. Even with the score fairly close through much of the second half, it seemed as if the Huskies we in complete control at all times. By the way, I'm still tinkering with the volume settings. The levels on this one are a bit low, so be ready to turn your iPod up a bit.
