Time to Think - Dr. D. Paul Reilly's Podcast Episodes - | Time To Think - November 30, 2007 - Fear Freezes | I?m quite sure we?ve all heard the well known phrase ?Frozen in Fear?. Well My Friend, it?s absolutely true, that some people do in fact hold themselves back from achieving the great things which their Creator put them on this earth to achieve, simply because they are literally scared to death to take a ?Leap of Faith?, and thus be prepared to bet on themself. These kinds of people are literally ?Frozen in Fear?, fear of the unknown, fear that they will not make it in life?.this is indeed deadly, and I do mean DEADLY.
James Allen in his insightful book which is so full of wonderful wisdom ?As a man thinketh? wrote the following gem when talking about health ?The people who live in fear of disease are the ones who get it?. Now, just in case that powerful line didn?t sink in, let me repeat it ?The people who live in fear of disease are the ones who get it?.
As I have written about before, there?s a Metaphysical Law called ?The Law of Attraction?. This law states as follows ?We ATTRACT towards us people, events, and circumstances in accordance with our THINKING?. So, if this is true, and believe you me IT IS! Well then, we roust surely attract towards us the things which we fear. This is something which we all should be cognizant of. Yes indeed it is!
During the great depression of the thirties President Franklyn Delano Roosevelt hit the nail on the head when he so wisely said ?The only thing we have to fear is fear itself?. Oh how absolutely true that wise Statement of Fact is Fear will immobilize us, it will literally freeze us in our tracks, and will in the long run bring into our life, the very thing which we fear so much.
So one might say, how do I overcome fear? Good question, and I believe that Eleanor Roosevelt answered that important question when she said ?I believe that anyone can conquer fear by doing the things he fears to do, provided he keeps doing them until he gets a record of successful experiences behind him?. Yes My Friend, whatever it is that you fear so much, you need of necessity to literally force yourself to actually do it again and again, until eventually as you become proficient at that particular task, the fear will gradually disappear.
So, in conclusion, please don?t ever let fear freeze you, for it will literally cause you to remain motionless on the road to success. Instead, you must force yourself, however painful at the tine, to do that which you fear so much, and gradually, bit by bit, you?ll get better and better at it, and the fear will completely subside.

| Time To Think - November 29, 2007 - Give them a sense of self | Harry Wadsworth Longfellow wrote ?Lives of great men all remind us we can make our lives sublime, and, departing, leave behind us footprints on the sands of time?. Now, having read those wonderful words of Longfellow, I wonder how many members of my reading audience really believe, that this applies to them. Well My Friend, unless a person has a true ?Sense of Self?, he or she will not be able to feel, that their life will in fact amount to anything worthwhile , never mind leaving some footprints behind which will be noticed by generations to come.
In a previous article, I mentioned seeing Dr Jackson President of Medgar Evers College in Brooklyn, New York being interviewed on Tony Brown?s Journal on PBS. He was talking about The Male Empowerment Center that he had established at the college. At this center he caters to the male students, who previously had not being doing all that well academically.
One of the phrases which Dr. Jackson used in talking about his work is in fact the title of this particular article, he said we must ?Give them a sense of self?. In other words, we have to bolster their self-esteem, thus making them fully aware of their inherent greatness. When people know exactly who and what they are, they literally are reborn, and take off on a supersonic flight to that well known destination Success City.
Yes indeed, it?s all about knowing who you really are. Which is of course, as I have written about on many occasions in the past, Awesomely Talented and Very Special ?Children of God?. With this kind of positive, real ?Sense of Self? a person is bound to have confidence in himself and thus succeed.
Patanjali who was the Author of The Yoga Sutras, lived in India three centuries before the birth of Christ, and is the person who first established the tradition of meditation. Patanjali wrote ?When you are inspired by some great purpose, some extraordinary project, all your thoughts break their bonds; Your mind transcends limitations, your consciousness expands in every direction, and you find yourself in a new great wonderful world. Dormant forces, faculties and talents become alive, and you discover yourself to be a greater person by far than you ever dreamed yourself to be?.
Yes My Friend, once a person, any person, has a positive ?Sense of Self?; once they really believe in themselves and their inborn ability to succeed; and when with genuine high self-esteem that person goes headlong after a worthy goal, believe you me, they will succeed beyond their wildest dreams.
So, from now on, when you meet someone, why don?t you go out of your way to ?Give them a sense of self? and you?ll be helping them to succeed.

| Time To Think - November 28, 2007 - The Pendulum is swinging | You know, it just occurred to me as I started to write this particular article, that we don?t see a whole lot of clocks today, with pendulums swinging back and forth. So many of the younger generation may not even know what a pendulum is; so let?s go to our dictionary to get an accurate definition of the word.
Webster?s New World Dictionary defines the word ?Pendulum? as ? A body hung from a fixed point so as to swing freely to and fro under the combined forces of gravity and momentum; often used in regulating the movement of clocks?. Of course, those of us who have seen, what we used to call a ?Grandfather Clock? will indeed be familiar with the pendulum which swings from left to right, as we listen to the audible Tick-Tock-Tick of the clock.
So, is that all I?m writing about here today, many may say? No indeed, there?s obviously a whole lot more meaning in the title of this article ?The pendulum is swinging?. What I?m really getting at here today is The FACT, that as the ?Pendulum of Life? swings in a constant and consistent rhythm, life changes from day to day. Therefore, we all need to be fully prepared for the inevitable changes, which are an integral part of everyday life.
Another way of stating the same concept is that, as I have written about before ?Everything goes in Cycles?. So we need to fully comprehend The FACT, that although we may be riding the crest of a wave today, tomorrow could indeed be much different as the pendulum swings And of course, visa versa, even though we may presently be in a ?Living Hell right now, that cycle will ultimately give way to much better times.
As The Bible tells us over and over again ?And this too shall pass?. So in a nutshell, life is all about change, and we all need to be able to deal with change in a calm, and indeed controlled manner, as the pendulum of life inevitably swings back and forth.
In talking about ?Change? Heraclitus who lived from 540 to 475 BC said ?There is nothing permanent except change?, and in talking about the sane subject Mignon McLaughlin put it like this ?It?s the most unhappy people who most fear change?. Finally, John Viscount Morley said ?Society can only pursue it?s normal course by means of a certain progression of changes? How well put there by all three people.
Yes My Friend, no one who knows anything about how The Universe operates should ever fear change, for change is the ultimate catalyst which eventually ushers in a period of growth.
So, in conclusion, be aware of the cyclical nature of things, thus realizing that, as the title of this article states ?The pendulum is swinging?. The world is constantly in a state of flux, as it and you hopefully grow.

| Time To Think - November 27, 2007 - The essense of perfection | In Webster?s New World Dictionary it defines the word ?Perfection? as ?1. The act or process of perfecting 2. The quality or condition of being perfect; extreme degree of excellence according to a given standard 3. A person or thing that is the perfect embodiment of some quality?. Incidentally, the same dictionary defines the word ?Perfect? as ?Complete in all respects; without defect or omission; sound; flawless?. The definition of the word ?Essence? is ?Something that is or existing, entity?. So you may say, what exactly is Reilly writing about today, who or what is ?The essence of Perfection?? My Friend, I?m writing about you and me, and every other human being presently occupying planet earth. We are ALL ?The essence of Perfection?, for God, the Creator of The Universe resides WITHIN us All 24/7.
In Dr. Wayne Dyer?s book ?Wisdom of the ages?, which I find myself using as a reference again and again, he has a chapter on ?Perfection? where he writes as follows ?The way to a peaceful life is to notice the perfection in God?s world and in ourselves, and nurture that perspective. Robert Browning?s wife Elizabeth Barret Browning, wrote two lines in ?My Kate? that nicely sum up all of this.
?The weak and the gentle, the ribald and rude, she took as she found them, and did then all good?. When you look out with wide eyes of wonder and appreciate all that you see as a gift from God, including your own life working in harmony with nature, you will know what the Poet Robert Browning meant when he wrote ?God?s in His heaven?.All?s right with the world?.
Yes indeed, we all need to get the concept into our head, that God created the world in which we all live, and each and every one of us, and as that well known saying puts it ?God don?t make no junk?. Yes My Friend, you are ?The essence of Perfection? as you were created by God In His image, and after His likeness. What a powerfully positive concept this really is.
So, the real purpose of life, is to strive continuously each and every day of our life to get better and better, at literally everything that we undertake. Every task which we engage in should be an effort on our part to produce excellence, for that?s what we are in reality ?The essence of Perfection?.
In other words, God planted the ?Seeds of Perfection? within each and every one of His children. Our job therefore as individuals, is to develop and nurture this perfection all the days of our life?. that?s what life is all about.
So today hopefully you have caught on to The FACT, that you are ?The essence of Perfection? living in a Perfect World, all created by God. Now, if that?s not a really positive thought for today, I don?t know what is!

| Time To Think - November 26, 2007 - Crisis leads to change | There?s no doubt about it, we ALL during our short sojourn on planet earth, will experience a series of crisis in our lives. We?ll encounter crisis in our personal life, in business, in relationships, in religion, and in our country. Now, many look upon crisis in an extremely negative fashion; however, once again I want you to get the concept into your head, that there really is nothing bad in life, that everything is in fact in ?Divine order?, and is therefore ultimately for our overall good.
I?m once again talking about seeing everything in our life in a totally positive light, not so much concentrating on the problems which we ALL encounter from tine to tine, as seeing ?Opportunities for Growth?. Yes indeed, as we all reflect on our life, I?m quite sure, that many of our most serious crises, have indeed assisted us in actually changing our life for the better. Let?s get specific now with some actual examples.
I knew someone some years ago who was fired when the company he had worked for for thirty years, folded its operations in The Bahamas and moved elsewhere. This, as I?m sure you can imagine, a crisis of monumental proportions for this particular person, who had worked for this corporation for just about all of his adult life. However, he had always thought about eventually going into business for himself; but due to a certain degree of insecurity, he had not had the guts to take the plunge into the unknown, and thus set up his own business.
But now that he had no choice, he took his life?s savings and took the plunge; he established his own company, which today is succeeding beyond his wildest dreams. This man has made much more money than he ever would have if he was still working for his old employer, resulting in his living a much more affluent lifestyle.
Yes My Friend, as the title of this article puts it ?Crisis leads to change?; and as we all know only too well, change ultimately leads to progress, to growth.
I knew a lady some time back, who was diagnosed with high cholesterol and high blood sugar; she was also incidentally grossly overweight. She ended up in hospital. This was indeed a major crisis in her life. However, as the title of this article so correctly states ?Crisis leads to change?, and thus she completely changed her previous sedentary lifestyle.
Firstly, she quit smoking cigarettes and drinking excessive amounts of alcohol. She commenced a daily controlled regimen of regular exercise sessions at the gym with a Personal Trainer, and her whole diet underwent a major shift from foods high in saturated fats, to much more fresh fruits and vegetables. This crisis in her life most definitely led to major changes in her overall lifestyle, which no doubt added many years to her life.

| Time To Think - November 23, 2007 - Why the bad attitudes? | Talk shows on both radio and television can indeed be most beneficial, and can assist us in getting an abundance of useful knowledge. In fact, I get many great ideas from listening to talk shows. However, we all need to fully understand, that many of the so-called ?Experts? who we hear on some of these talk shows, in effect don?t really have a clue as to what they?re talking about. So we need to use our judgment to ascertain if the various experts who appear on these talk shows, do in fact know what they?re talking about.
As an actual example of what I?m talking about here today; I was listening to a particular talk show on T.V. in my hometown just last night, and the guest being interviewed was a so-called expert in the field of manpower training & development. Now the host asked the following straight-forward question ?What are the CAUSES of the very bad attitudes which far too many people display in the workplace in The Bahamas??
I thought to myself, this is surely a simple question to answer for anyone who actually really knew what they?re talking about. Well, the so-called expert gave several reasons for the bad attitudes of employees, none of which were correct in my estimation.
Now, let me say at the outset, lest anyone query any qualifications to address this particular subject of ?Attitude?. I have been professionally involved in the field of manpower training & development for over forty years. I have facilitated Motivational Seminars all over the world for many of the world?s leading corporations. I?ve also been privileged to work with, and learn from, some of the most recognized and indeed respected global experts in the field; people like Earl Nightingale, Dr. Maxwell Maltz, and Dr. Denis Waitley?.so I know what I?m talking about. Now, having laid the groundwork, so to speak, let me answer the question posed by the title of this article ?Why the bad attitudes??.
The main, underlying CAUSE of bad ,negative attitudes in people, is without any doubt whatsoever, low self-esteem?.this is a FACT which no one, who knows what they?re talking about, can dispute. So, it stands to reason, that if we wish to correct anything, we must first deal with the CAUSE, and not with the actual symptom. So, to correct bad attitudes, we must first deal with the CAUSE of low self-esteem, which exists with far too many people around the globe.
Low self-esteem is caused by persistent negative programming by those who surrounded us when we were young. Until this very real FACT of Life is dealt with, by someone who actually knows what they?re doing, and is then reversed; those with bad attitudes will continue to have bad attitudes. So please My Friend, make sure that the so-called experts that you?re listening to, really know what they?re talking about.

| Time To Think - November 22, 2007 - Creative Intolerance | At the time of writing this particular article, a development company is about to commence work on a huge project on the western end of the island of New Providence. The multi-million dollar project involves the building of an upscale hotel, a world class golf course, and many multi-million dollar homes. The development will provide a whole lot of jobs which are vitally needed for Bahamians, and will also provide considerable income for the government.
Now, as with all developments of this kind, wherever in the world they are, some inevitable changes will need to be made, which may indeed inconvenience some people. However, as I said, this is inevitable and is always factored into the equation where growth is anticipated. But My Friend as we all know only too well, people the world over are inclined to resist change, even though the change is going to usher in progress.
Now, the recently formed new government of The Bahamas and the developers of the project called a ?Town Meeting? to allow the local residents of the area, and everyone else for that matter, to voice any concerns they may have relative to the proposed development.
Now some of the people at the meeting really behaved in a disgusting manner, and at least one person had to be escorted out of the meeting by the police. This in my estimation, really is ridiculous Now, let?s get one thing straight, I?m in no way advocating here today, that people should not voice their opinions about their genuine concerns on matters like this; after all, this is surely what real democracy is all about, that is getting the input of all the citizens, and then having the parties to the agreement acting in the overall best interests of ALL.
However, there?s a right way and a wrong way to do everything. Being rowdy, boisterous, angry, and excessively aggressive is in my opinion, not the best way to get your opinion over.
Yes indeed, there is of course a time for all of us to voice our opinion, particularly when we perceive either a company or government who are not operating in the overall best interests of ALL the people. However, the way in which to do this, is to do it in a calm, orderly ,and indeed intelligent manner.
In other words, what I?m advocating here today is what I refer to as ?Creative Intolerance?. Don?t just oppose something for no apparent reason, but make sure that you have all of the relevant information at hand. Then, rather than just opposing something, think it through using your God-given intelligence and thus come up with some creative concepts and ideas, which will in fact assist everyone to perhaps slightly modify the previous plans, which you object to. Don?t just criticize for the sake of criticizing but be objective and ?Creatively Intolerant?.

| Time To Think - November 21, 2007 - Retired or rewired? | I remember writing an article some time ago entitled ?Don?t dare retire?. In that article I told the story of Dr. Maxwell Maltz, whom I had the distinct pleasure of working with some years ago. Incidentally, Dr. Maltz was one of the world?s foremost Plastic Surgeons, and he was the Author of the million selling book ?Psycho-Cybernetics?, which is the definitive book on self-image psychology. At the time of my association with Dr. Maltz he was both world famous, and extremely well off financially. However, he was always extremely busy giving lectures all over the world, despite the fact that he was in his late sixties.
Apparently, as he relayed the story to me one day, his next door neighbor asked him why he hadn?t retired as he was indeed rich and famous. Dr. Maltz simply replied by saying in all of his wisdom ?You can?t retire from life?. Oh how true that is.
The State of Florida in particular is full of people, who have worked real hard all of their life up north in places like New York, Chicago, Pittsburg and Boston. They finally retire to Florida where they buy a nice home, a set of golf clubs and a Cadillac. Now, the sad thing is, that an awful lot of them are dead in a relatively short period of time after retiring. Why is this, do you suppose?
In my estimation it?s simply because they have absolutely nothing constructive to do, other than play golf, and drink far too much alcohol out of sheer boredom. Everyone regardless of age needs to have a very definite purpose in life, they need to have a reason to get up in the morning. Everyone needs to wake up each day feeling genuinely excited at what they intend to accomplish during the day. So MY Friend, instead of becoming ?Retired? you really need to be ?Rewired? for future success.
One of the greatest definitions of ?Success? which I learnt from my mentor Earl Nightingale goes like this ?Success is the progressive realization of a worthy goal or ideal?. So, it therefore logically follows, that in order to be successful a person must AT ALL TIMES have a series of goals and objectives, which they are progressively working towards. It is because whet some people finally retire from their regular form of work, and then don?t set any meaningful goals, that they stagnate and eventually die prematurely.
So My Friend, in conclusion, when you retire from whatever it is that you presently do for a living, you need to make sure that you get ?Rewired? for future success, by simply setting a series of meaningful goals for yourself. You need to have a very definite purpose for living, otherwise, take it from me, you?ll in all probability die prematurely.
The secret of living a long, and indeed meaningful life which you really enjoy, is to remain mentally, physically, and spiritually active right up to the end.

| Time To Think - November 20, 2007 - Causes can't find solutions | As I have written about recently, the crime rate in The Bahamas has escalated in the past few years, and is now, in my opinion, and indeed in the opinion of others, completely out of control. Recently the government decided to appoint yet another of their ?Panels? or ?Committees? to seek some answers, as to how to deal with this very serious threat to the overall wellbeing of the people and the country.
Now it appears to me, that when the government, any government appoints committees or commissions to examine the causes of crime, and then come up with practical solutions to combat it; these committees always appear to be made up of the same kind of people, who in my opinion, are those who are in fact mainly responsible for the rise in crime in the first place.
Yes indeed, the panel of people who are charged with coming up with solutions to dealing with the very serious situation which exists in The Bahamas today, is comprised of, God help us all, Politicians, Religious Leaders, Police Officials, Union Leaders, and Business people. Now it is my opinion, and indeed the opinion of most thinking people, that those who are supposed to be seeking the solutions to the crime problem in the country, are in fact the very ones who have indeed contributed in no uncertain manner to the problem.
It really is a case of the blind leading the blind, it really is figuratively speaking, Nero fiddling while The Bahamas is burning, just like Rome centuries ago did. As the title of this article puts it ?CAUSES can?t find solutions?. Let me elaborate on that.
As I have written about on many occasions in the past, far too many politicians in The Bahamas over the years have been rotten to the core, thus it therefore logically follows, that they are in effect a large part of the CAUSE of crime in the country; and until someone has the intestinal fortitude, the guts to admit this and do something to rectify it, we will not have a significant reduction in crime in the country.
Until we collectively own up to The FACT, that so many Religious Leaders are complete phonies who are in effect earning vast sums of money off the backs of the poor, the ignorant, we will not seek a solution to the crime problem in the country.
Anyone with an ounce of sense knows, that the inefficient, ineffective, corrupt, and brutal police are also a very big part of the problem. Likewise The Unions with their disruptive, blackmailing tactics have also contributed to the very belligerent nature of so many people who resort to violence.
Finally, a large segment of the Commercial Sector, are also rotten to the core, as they continue to use dishonest business practices, and treat employees like animals. In short, those who have CAUSED the problem, are in no way qualified to seek solutions!!!!

| Time To Think - November 19, 2007 - Christian arrogance | From my brief studies into the life of Jesus The Master Teacher, he was indeed a humble, and extremely loving person; he was certainly not by any stretch of the imagination, what we?d call arrogant. And yet today at the beginning of the 21st century some 2000 years later, I find that too many of his so-called followers are arrogant in the extreme, as they haughtily proclaim that unless you believe exactly as they do, you and your life is dammed, and you?re on the fast track to Eternal Damnation. Oh how terribly arrogant and indeed self-righteous these so-called followers of The Master Teacher can be.
Now, let me give you a specific example as I do like to talk about concrete FACTS, rather than ramble on in an ambiguous manner about what may have, or could happen. There?s a particular commercial radio station in my home town, who have by their own volition opted to play so-called sacred music, from early on Sunday morning right up to the midday hour. This is done to accommodate the numbers of people in The Bahamas who profess to be
Christians.
Now, from approximately midday on Sunday regular type music is played on the station in question up until about 6.00 P.M., when once again the station returns to playing classical and/or music of a sacred nature, as opposed to secular music.
Now believe it or not, when the CEO of this particular radio station was hosting a talk show, a particular Reverend called the show and complained bitterly, that the station plays too much secular music on Sundays, and that they should just play sacred music ALL Day on Sundays, just I presume to accommodate him. My oh my, the sheer arrogance of so many so-called Christians is indeed outrageous.
Christians need to get it into their heads, that they are in fact a minority in the world. That?s right, the present population of the world in just in excess of six billion people. Out of this world population there are only one billion Christians, or one sixth of the entire world population. The most rapidly growing religion at the beginning of the 21st century is of course Islam, who also presently have approximately one billion members worldwide.
Then of course, there are vast numbers of people spread throughout this great big world of ours like me, who don?t wish to have anything whatsoever to do with any religion, but who opt instead to live spiritual lives, which are not based on any man-made dogma or doctrine.
If Christians wish to be really true to the wonderful teachings of The Master Teacher Jesus ?The Christ?, they need to immediately get down off their ?High Horse?, stop being so very arrogant in their pronouncements, and simply be humble and meek like Jesus ! !

| Time To Think - November 16, 2007 - Do you need to relearn? | Alvin Toffler is quoted as saying ?The illiterate of the 21st century will not be those who cannot read and write; but those who cannot learn, unlearn, and relearn?. Boy oh boy, he certainly said a mouthful there. But My Friend, he?s absolutely correct in what he so wisely said. There?s no doubt about it, so many of us have been taught so much in our youth which is in fact incorrect; so we need to as mature adults, as Alvin Toffler said ?Unlearn? and then ?Relearn? The TRUTH before we can move on to enjoy a meaningful life, that will in the end be satisfying to the soul.
This is why I?ve advocated in these articles again and again, the vital importance of developing a ?Questioning Attitude? toward literally everything, which we were taught when we were young. As that well known Japanese Proverb puts it ?He who asks a question is a fool for a minute. He who never asks a question remains a fool for the rest of his life?. Oh how true that unfortunately is.
So many of us were taught to subscribe to a ?Belief System? of one kind or another, which as we grew up and started to think for ourself, found to be completely irrelevant in the Real World. If this is the case with you My Friend, you need to, having thought deeply about it; leave this antiquated way of thinking and acting behind you forever.
As an actual example from my own life, I was brought up in Ireland as a Catholic, and as a young boy thought seriously about becoming a Priest. In my forties, I began to disbelieve so much of what The Catholic Church believes and teaches. So, I had to as Alvin Toffler suggests ?Unlearn all of what I?d been taught from a religious perspective in my youth, and then Relearn what true spirituality is all about. Now My Friend, how do you answer the very important question posed by the title of this article ?Do you need to relearn??.
In the September edition of Creative Thought magazine there?s a great short piece written by Mary Beth Speer of Du Page, Illinois which is most applicable to our theme for today entitled ?I am willing to learn? it reads as follows ?There is One Perfect Mind, complete, whole, and everywhere present. It is the Consciousness of Life, and I am that which is knowing Itself as me. I align my mind with Divine Mind and feel the sheer pleasure of surrender. I am one with the Beloved, and all is well.
Today, I am willing to look at and be informed by the appearances around me. All the out-picturings in my world are effects I have created through my thought. Thought I am informed by these conditions, they contain no power. All power is in God, and forms change as I change. There is no separation between me and all knowledge.
I affirm that I know what I need to know exactly as I need to know it. I stay in this present moment, for all that I desire is right where I am. I speak my word to a Law that serves me perfectly. I am grateful for my life, for this day, and for the Law. God is good. And so it is?.
Yes My Friend, today?s the day for you to question your previously held beliefs about everything, and to then learn some new TRUTH!

| Time To Think - November 15, 2007 - Superstitious Savages in the jungle | On the program ?Sunday Morning? on CBS, they included a feature dealing with some famous people, who although in their eighties, are still extremely active and indeed enjoying life to the fullest. One of those interviewed was Hugh Hefner Founder of the Playboy Empire. He was asked the question by the interviewer, is there anything in the world he?d like to change. He replied, that he wished people were more tolerant with each other, particularly when they held differing beliefs.
He then used the phrase which is in fact the title of this article. He said, and quite rightly in my opinion, that far too many people throughout the world are acting like ?Superstitious savages in the jungle?. What a great line, and unfortunately it does indeed perfectly describes so many people who are, what Eric Hoffer in his book refers to as ?True Believers?. I?m obviously talking about the fanatics of the world, the Religious Fanatics, the Political Fanatics, the Union Fanatics who are indeed acting exactly like ?Superstitious savages in the jungle? as they fight unnecessarily over trivial and indeed very petty matters in the overall scheme of things.
Isn?t it amazing how Religious Fanatics of all denominations, who are supposed to be doing what they?re doing daily in accordance with God?s Divine Will; get so very judgmental of those who do not believe exactly as they do from a doctrinal point of view. Why even within so-called Christianity, there are continual fights and name calling by members of one denomination against other denominations.
And just look at what some fundamentalist Muslims are engaged in throughout the world at the beginning of the 21st century. They are indeed in far too many cases acting deplorably as ?Superstitious savages in the jungle?. How utterly un-godly!!!
Then, as we throughout this great big world of ours observe the various Political Factions as they prepare for elections, and so often after they have been defeated at the polls, they do indeed far too often display a form of infantile, primitive behavior which can be compared to a bunch of ?Superstitious savages in the jungle?! This is certainly how many perceive the present opposition party in The Bahamas to be behaving, as they daily deliberately do their utmost to stir up unrest in the country, day after day.
Now, I?m quite sure that we all like to refer to ourself as being civilized human beings. However, as The Good Book puts it ?By their ACTIONS ye shall know them?. Yes indeed, far too many people are behaving just like ?Superstitious savages in the jungle?. How very sad this is to observe, particularly when so many of these people purport to be behaving in that disgusting manner, in the name of God.

| Time To Think - November 14, 2007 - Spirituality yes --- Religion no! | There is a subject which I find myself continually returning to as I observe a country, The Bahamas, which continually refers to itself as a Christian Country, slowly but surely start to disintegrate right before our collective eyes. Whenever we have a problem, like for example the terrible escalation of crime, a committee or commission is appointed by government, and prominent religious leaders are always appointed to these committees.
But My Friend, I honestly believe, that so many religious leaders are themselves compromised to the point, that no one is really listening to them as they just mindlessly repeat one scripture after another, whilst in an extremely vengeful manner insist on the ungodly practice of public hanging. No My Friend, religion is not the answer to all of the problems in the world, for it is indeed tainted. However, True Spirituality is most definitely the answer.
As I have written about on many occasions in the past, I believe implicitly in a Creator, a Higher Power, God and I spend time each and every day in prayer and meditation communicating with God. I also endeavor to daily live, what might be loosely termed a ?Godly Life? by being kind, loving, and understanding with others. I don?t need religion to live this kind of Spiritual Life; in fact I honestly believe, that religion can actually be a very definite hindrance to living a Spiritual Life.
There is an ancient Sanskrit saying ?God sleeps in the minerals, awakens in the plants, and thinks in you?. In other words, there is no place where God is not sleeping, awakening, or walking about. God is the universal source of all life, a presence rather than a person, and this presence thinks in you.
Yes indeed it does, for God is WITHIN us all at the very center of our being. By drawing on the strength of God WITHIN, we can indeed accomplish all thing and we don?t need religion to teach us about God?.for God just is!
In Dr. Wayne Dyer?s great book ?Wisdom of the ages? he gives us some great tips on how to live a truly spiritual life, he writes ? #1. Remind yourself daily that you are a divine creation and entitled to be treated lovingly by others, as well as by yourself. By seeing yourself as connected to rather than separated from God you will feel a greater reverence for yourself.
2. Practice regular rituals to affirm the presence of God in you and all that you do, Bless your food and give thanks, and as you do, remind yourself that you are feeding the divine. Similarly, during your exercise activities visualize the energy of God in your every cell.
3. Give thanks for everything that you receive, including the rain, air, sun, and storms, however they manifest. Gratitude is one way of recognizing the God in all things?.
Yes My Friend, as I have said repeatedly in the past, I?m all for true spirituality but not at all keen on organized religion.
Spiritual people are kind, loving and caring; whilst religious people can so often be most bitter and indeed downright unloving, to those who do not believe exactly as they do, How utterly ungodly!

| Time To Think - November 13, 2007 - Criminality, immorality and perversion | One of the worst things that any person can do, is to actually deny their destructive behavior. As we all know only too well, countless thousands of people around the globe are indeed burying their head in the sand, so to speak as they absolutely refuse to admit some of their destructive habits, which are in fact causing havoc with their life. Now, until these people own up to their destructive behavior, and then vow to actually change their life and affairs; they will continue to go rapidly downhill, ending up in the depths of failure.
Well My Friend, the exact same scenario applies to a country. If the populace of any country collectively keep their heads in the sand, thus not owning up to the many shortcomings of the country, total destruction and ultimate disaster will inevitably materialize. After all, we?re all more than familiar with the phrase ?Nero fiddled while Rome burned?. Well, unfortunately there are a whole lot of people in The Bahamas where I presently reside who are, figuratively speaking fiddling as the country is going straight to hell?.this unfortunately is A FACT, which no one in their right mind can deny.
I was listening to a local talk show on radio a few weeks ago, and The Host, a well known and respected Bahamian, who like me tells it like it is, said and I quote ?In The Bahamas we have a Criminal, Immoral and Perverted society?. Now I honestly wish that that were not true, but the sad fact is, that he was right on the ball with his timely comment.
Now, if we collectively, that is ALL of you who live in, and love The Bahamas so much, don?t get our act together real soon and thus start to reverse the situation, this ?Criminality, Immorality & Perversion? will destroy us ALL!
My Friend, if we really love our country, we can no longer simply turn a ?Blind Eye? to Criminality which is rampant throughout society from top to bottom. We must IMMEDIATELY attack the Immorality which is slowly but surely destroying so many lives, and so many families. This Immorality is even rampant among so-called religious leaders.
Finally, we must stand up against Perversion of all kinds. Why in the name of God, do we repeatedly allow groups of people to spread their hideous perversion on radio and T.V. talk shows, and in the print media? This to me is Utter Madness and reminds me of that well known saying ?The world has gone crazy?. Yes indeed it has!
This is not a matter of freedom of expression?.it?s a dumb act of committing National Suicide. Yes indeed, if we really do love The Bahamas, we need to collectively tackle the ?Criminality, Immorality & Perversion? NOW!

| Time To Think - November 12, 2007 - Stop being longwinded! | I wrote an article recently about the importance of listening, really listening to what others are saying to us. This is of course absolutely vital if effective communication is to take place between people. Now someone called me up to discuss the contents of that article, and she stated, that one of the reasons why some people interrupt others when they?re still talking, is that the person is so longwinded and thus never seems to get to the point, they just go on and on like the Energizer Bunny, speaking incessantly, but actually saying very little of significance. I thought to myself at the time, she does indeed have a most valid point.
When we are expressing ourself we need to say what we have to say in as few words as possible. Now, in order to do this, we need to, as I teach in my ?Broaden Your Horizons? seminar ?Plan our messages?. In other words, we need to think BEFORE we speak. That?s right, when we wish to convey something to another person, we need to take a little time to think it through. What exactly do I wish to convey to the other person, or persons?
We then get our thoughts in order before we open our mouth and start speaking. Then we say what we have to say in as few words as possible without any unnecessary, superfluous words. When we do this, we will not be longwinded and thus lose the attention of those whom we?re endeavoring to communicate with.
I believe, that literally everyone needs to learn this important lesson about being as brief as is possible when expressing themself, thus avoiding the very bad habit of just rambling on and on ad nauseam, until you either completely lose the listener or listeners, as they just tune you out, or you prompt them to repeatedly interrupt you, as you just go on and on and on.
Anyone who regularly has to address large groups of people like Teachers, Managers, Supervisors, Religious leaders, Politicians, even Parents; need to learn today?s most important lesson. There?s a particular politician in my hometown who is well known for talking non-stop, whilst at the same time saying absolutely nothing. He?s so very pathetic, that when I, and indeed many others whom I?ve spoken to, see him on television, immediately change the channel.
And while we?re on the subject of not listening to those who are very longwinded, how many of us either go to sleep, or just mentally ?Tune Out? the preacher at church, temple, or synagogue? Quite a lot, I?m sure.
My Friend, I do sincerely hope, that you have indeed grasped the vital importance of today?s message. Think BEFORE you speak, and then say what you have to say in as few words as possible. If you do this, others will indeed hear you.

| Time To Think - November 9, 2007 - Union destruction | When the Union Movement came into being it was indeed something that was warranted as employers were, among other things, using child labor, and in general not paying workers a fair wage, or treating them with the dignity which they deserved. However, over the years the Union Movement has grown into, in my opinion, and I might add in the opinion of most thinking people, to be a most destructive movement worldwide. The blackmail, the continual threatening tactics used by the Union Movement worldwide, has and indeed continues to cause havoc in business and industry, and has been the major contributor to the annual rise in the cost of living.
I predicted many years ago, that if the Union Movement was not curbed in The Bahamas, it would eventually contribute in no uncertain manner to the ultimate downfall of the Bahamian economy. Well My Friend, that prediction is unfortunately gradually becoming a sad reality.
A couple of years ago a hurricane badly damaged a large hotel property, namely The Royal Oasis on the island of Grand Bahama. The closing of this huge property which employed 1,200 people, and supported many other tourist related businesses like taxis, casinos, shops, etc literally devastated the economy of the island of Grand Bahama, as the Property has never re-opened. And why did the then owners not promptly repair and reopen it as soon as possible?
The real answer to that most important question, is that prior to the hurricane, the unions has constantly badgered the owners of the resort, who were doing their very best to continue operating, in spite of very serious financial difficulties, brought on incidentally, mainly by the unpredicted events of 9/11 2001. The owners could have, and indeed under normal conditions would have repaired and reopened the property in short order after the hurricane. However, due to the constant hassle with the union, they decided against doing that, thus throwing the entire island of Grand Bahama into economic turmoil?. these are THE FACTS!
More recently, The Bacardi distillery on the island of New Providence in The Bahamas, which incidentally has been in operation for forty years, has announced a phased closing. The Bacardi distillery, which was a big tourist attraction also, will finally close it?s doors in April 2009.
Now although their public relations people have done their best to try to sugar-coat the closure of their operations in The Bahamas, by stating that they are just consolidating their operations at their distillery in Puerto Rico; most thinking people fully understand, that it is simply too costly for Bacardi to continue to operate efficiently and effectively in The Bahamas.
Over the years, the union has consistently driven up the cost of wages under constant threats of strikes. Now the breaking point has come, and the company is closing down its operations putting some 114 people out of work. Yes indeed, the unions are slowly but quite surely destroying The Bahamas!

| Time To Think - November 8, 2007 - Kissing up and Kicking down | A couple of Saturdays ago, I watched the very informative program ?The open Mind? on PBS with Host Richard D. Heffner. On this particular show the guest was an intriguing gentleman by the name of Dr. Howard Gardiner. Incidentally, Dr. Gardiner is Professor of Cognition and Education at the prestigious Harvard University. Professor Gardiner was speaking about human behavior as it relates to getting ahead in life. At one point in the interview he said that far too many people, particularly in the business setting, are continually ?Kissing up & Kicking down? in a desperate effort to climb the corporate ladder to the highest rung. Oh how absolutely true that is.
It is indeed most unfortunate, that so many people do in fact consistently remain in a mode, where they?re daily ?Kissing Up? to those whom they feel can assist them in moving ahead in the organization; whilst at the same time they spend an inordinate amount of time in ?Kicking Down?, or we might say ?Running Down? anyone and everyone whom they consider to be a threat to them. This unfortunately happens in all sorts of organizations be they business, political, religious, sporting, or even philanthropic in nature.
People just love to ?Kiss Up? to those in authority as a means to get ahead in the organization. And it would appear that these same kinds of people who are always ?Kissing Up? to those at the top, will also consistently ?Run Down? anyone whom they see as a threat to their ultimate advancement.
These kinds of people are of course absolutely ruthless in nature; they are the kinds of individuals who will literally do anything, who will stop at nothing, in order to get to the top. These kinds of people are extremely dangerous, and need to be spotted and weeded out as soon as possible, for the overall benefit and well-being of the organization.
Yes My Friend, there are indeed a whole lot of ruthless people out there with no Moral Compass whatsoever to guide them in a responsible, and indeed moral manner. Of course, once again the underlying reason for this kind of ruthless behavior on the part of some misguided individuals, which unfortunately results in a life of ?Kissing Up & Kicking Down?, is a deep-felt insecurity, based on chronic low self-esteem.
That?s right, a person with high self-esteem who really knows who they are and fully understands their tremendous talents, never, ever needs to stoop so very low as to be daily involved in the practice of ?Kissing Up? to those at the top, whilst simultaneously ?Kicking Down? or ?Running Down? those whom they see as their ?Enemies?.

| Time To Think - November 7, 2007 - All illness is mental | I was reading something recently about health and wellbeing. The particular passage talked about physical and mental illness. As I reflected on this passage for a moment, I thought to myself, that as every single event that occurs in our life is the direct result of the thoughts which we think; well then, surely ALL illness is indeed mental, as it commences likewise with the actual thoughts which we think, which then materialize as either a troubled mind or a compromised body.
Yes indeed, as the title of this particular article states it ?All illness is mental?.
One of my teachers was the late, great Earl Nightingale whom I started working with in 1968. I learnt so much of what I?m teaching today from Earl Nightingale. When I obtained a wonderful book which he had recommended and read it ?As a man thinketh? by James Allen, and which Earl constantly quoted from; I began to fully understand, that he in turn had learned so much of what he taught from James Allen.
On the subject of ?The effect of thought on health and the body? here?s what James Allen wrote ?The body is the servant of the mind. It obeys the operations of the mind, whether they be deliberately chosen or automatically expressed. At the bidding of unlawful thoughts the body sinks rapidly into disease and decay; at the command of glad and beautiful thoughts, it becomes clothed with youthfulness and beauty.
Disease and health like circumstances, are rooted in thought. Sickly thoughts will express themselves through a sickly body. Thoughts of fear have been known to kill a man as speedily as a bullet, and they are continually killing thousands of people, just as surely though less rapidly?. And one last most powerful line from James Allen to prove my point, he wrote ?The people who live in fear of disease are the people who get it?. That really sums it up, doesn?t it? Yes it does!
In Dr. Bernie Siegel?s book ?Peace, Love & Healing? he writes ?Everyone who has ever experienced the ?Placebo Effect? also has a role to play in the quest to understand the mindbody connection. These are the people who, for reasons we are now beginning to understand, will show rapid healing and pain relief after taking a ?Placebo?, which is an inert substance or a sham procedure with no properties that would allow it to function as an agent of healing?. Oh the power of the mind, it never ceases to amaze me, and
indeed others, including I might add, prominent Medical Doctors like Bernie Siegel.
And here?s one final quote from James Allen to hammer home today?s most important message, he wrote ?There is no physician like cheerful thought for dissipating the ills of the body?. So My Friend, in conclusion, if you wish to experience excellent health, you need to constantly think positive, upbeat, enthusiastic thoughts 24/7.

| Time To Think - November 6, 2007 - What is truth? | I was watching a talk show on T.V. recently where The Host?s beliefs were obviously deeply rooted in conventional Christianity. He was interviewing, or to be more correct, grilling, interrogating two members of the Bahai Faith, which it was most obvious he did not agree with. This was most evident by his overall demeanor, his body language, his tone of voice, and his questions. The Host of course kept referring to The Scriptures, as if there was only one set of Sacred Scriptures in The Universe. It really does amaze me, how utterly arrogant so many so-called Christians can be as they talk about The Bible, as if it is the only book ever written about matters spiritual.
Over the years, I?m delighted that I?ve engaged in considerable studies in Comparative Religions; so I am more than aware of the fact, that each man-made religion has it?s own book, its manual for its followers to be guided by. For example: apart from The Bible, there?s The Koran, The Bagvad Gita or Hindu Gospels, The teachings of Buddha, The Science of Mind, and indeed hundreds, no thousands of other books dealing with spiritual matters, each of which contain some sense, some wisdom, and of course a whole lot of NONSENSE too.
So, let?s get this matter straight once and for all. There is no ONE right religion! There is no ONE book which has the exclusive corner on The TRUTH. When religionists become so very arrogant as to state that their particular belief system is the only right one, that?s when they, in my opinion, start to think, speak and act in a most un-godly manner as they haughtily proclaim in a most loud voice, that they are right and everyone else is wrong. That they?re the sole purveyors of The TRUTH, and that basically everyone else is out of their mind. So we now get to the important question posed by the title of this particular article ?What is Truth??. Well, let me answer that important question.
In the days of Christopher Columbus, the prevailing belief of that time, was that the world was flat. It was believed in most circles, that as Christopher Columbus set out on his quest to discover the so-called New World, his ship would in effect sail over the edge of the perceived flat world, never to be seen again. In other words, that?s what most thinking human beings at that time believed to be ?The Truth?. However, as we all know only too well, they, the majority of people at that time were in fact terribly wrong, as Christopher Columbus did in fact discover his so-called New World whilst proving that the world is in fact round?.this is the REAL TRUTH.
So, just because a group of religious people state that their teachings from their book is ?The Truth?; it does ?not necessarily make it so. After all Jesus The Master Teacher challenged so much of the spiritual teachings of his time. He had the guts to challenge to so-called TRUTH of his day. If we are all to eventually come to The Ultimate TRUTH?.that which is, we MUST continue to question, and thus not follow blindly what others dictate!

| Time To Think - November 5, 2007 - Get away from them | I guess that most people as they initially read the title of this article, will be wondering who exactly am I referring to in the title ?Get away from them!?. In other words, who does the word ?Them? actually refer to. Well, I was watching Joel Osteen on television the other day, and he was discussing what he referred to as the ?Toxic Influences?, that many need of necessity to get away from. He was of course talking about people and places, which were most definitely not in our best interest to be associated with any longer.
Let me give you a specific example from my own life. Many years ago, I earned my living as a Professional Musician. Now, at that particular time in my life, I used to consume large amounts of alcohol. So, I made a conscious decision, that as I wished to stop drinking excessive amounts of alcohol, that I most definitely needed to get away from the ?Club Atmosphere? which was so much a part of my lifestyle at that time. So I ceased to earn my living as a Musician.
Yes indeed, when we finally decide to take life seriously and to walk the straight and narrow, so to speak toward our ultimate destination on the road to success, so often we need to get away from some of our previous acquaintances and friends, who are still engaged in inappropriate and grossly destructive behavior.
When we finally get sense ,so to speak and thus start to live our lives in a manner which will be acceptable in the eyes of our Creator, God; sometimes we need to completely and totally change our daily routine, thus making a definite resolution not to frequent many of our previous favorite haunts, where temptation lurks.
Here?s some excellent advice from Dr. Wayne Dyer?s book ?Wisdom of the ages? which I believe is most applicable to our message here today. He writes #1. Let go of using the behavior or accomplishments of others as a means of validating your own life. Even if many others, even a majority, believe in one way; if you feel out of harmony with that group-think, validate yourself by taking the road your heart wants to follow
2. Listen to your own heart concerning the path you wish to travel. Even if your entire life training has been in one direction, if it is not what you feel now, then begin the adventure of exploring the less-traveled road. The reward of self-sufficiency will far outweigh the practice of conformity?.
Yes My Friend, if you wish to consistently be the outstanding success which God put you in this world to become, so often you have to break away from the pack, and get rid of any ?Toxic Influences? which will poison your thinking and way of life. There?s no doubt about it, if you?re associating with people with destructive behavior patterns, who are basically losers, you need to IMMEDIATELY ?Get away from them!?.

| Time To Think - November 2, 2007 - Budgeting Time | As I have written about on several occasions in the past, time is, what I like to call, the Great Equalizer in life. We ALL, irrespective of our economic or social standing, have the exact same amount of time available to us. There are, as we all know only too well, especially those who are constantly saying ?I wish there were more hours in the day?; just 24 hours in each day,7 days in each week, and 52 weeks in each year. These are The FACTS! So, when it comes to time, we?re ALL equal as the exact same amount of time is available to The President of The United States of America, as is available to a laborer working on a building site.
However, there is usually a vast difference in the way in which people use the time allocated them. In other words, some people get excellent use out of the time available to them, whilst others just squander it away. Now, I?m quite sure that just about all of my valued readers have heard that well know saying ?Time is Money?. This is indeed absolutely true.
Now, most sensible people would not just throw money away indiscriminately, and yet far too many people are indeed, from my observations, throwing time away day after day, and then they wonder why they?re not getting anything worthwhile accomplished; they?re not moving ahead as rapidly as they?d like to on the road to success. In fact, so many of these people who are not well organized are at a complete standstill, as their life and affairs appear to have been put on permanent ?Hold?. How very sad this is to actually observe.
My Friend, successful people in all fields of endeavor are ALWAYS very well organized, thus they get the very best use out of each and every 24 hour period. People who are well organized succeed a whole lot more than people who are completely disorganized. This is a FACT, which no one can dispute.
People who get ahead financially, are those who very carefully budget their finances. These people are indeed very fastidious when it comes to spending their money, and they always stick to, stay within the confines of their budget. Well My Friend, if ?Time is Money?, and as we ALL know, it is; well then, we need to also very carefully ?Budget our Time?.
In other words, we need to draw up a ?Detailed Plan?, a ?Schedule? for each and every day?s activities, and of course we need to stick to this plan, by not spending more time on a task than we had actually allocated in the plan. In other words, we must ?Plan our Work? and then ?Work that Plan?. Yes indeed. ?Budgeting Time? is vitally important for those who wish to consistently succeed in life.

| Time To Think - November 1, 2007 - Pain=Gain and Bad=good | I?m sure that we?ve all heard that well known saying ?No gain without pain? Well quite frankly, I believe it?s absolutely true. Let?s look at a few examples to prove our premise. When a person allows themself to get into bad shape physically thus threatening his or her actual state of health, and even the quality of that person?s life; a rigid program of exercise coupled with proper eating habits will be recommended, to get that person hopefully back into good physical condition. Abstinence from alcohol and all forms of drugs and cigarettes, will also be an essential part of the overall health regimen.
Now to actually implement this program will indeed be quite painful at first for the person, and there?s no doubt about it, that person will have to endure many physical aches and pains as their overweight and out of shape body is subjected daily, to the rigors of regular exercise sessions at the gym. There will also be mental pain or anguish as the alcohol, drugs and/or cigarettes are stopped, and the person experiences withdrawal symptoms.
However, gradually, bit by bit the pain will subside, and the person will begin to experience the sheer ecstasy of being in tip top physical condition once again. Yes My Friend, there?s no doubt about it, sometimes in our life we have to experience some severe pain, either physical, mental, or emotional before we can finally move on to a whole new
and bright future.
Another positive way of saying the same thing, is that there?s no such thing as BAD, for sometimes in life, we need of necessity to experience ?Bad Times? in order to eventually arrive at a better place, where we will experience the ?Good Times? once again.
Someone near and dear to me has had cancer, and over the years has had a whole lot of chemotherapy as the cancer kept coming back. Quite recently, he was given a new chemotherapy drug, and he recalled, that as the drug was actually entering his system he felt great pain, which incidentally he had never felt before when undergoing chemotherapy.
Now I?m no medical doctor; however, my common sense, my ?Gut Feeling? told me, that this new medication was indeed working. When the patient had his next checkup, it would appear that I was absolutely correct in my assumption, as the new medicine administered in chemotherapy had greatly reduced both the size of the tumor, and the pain the patient had experienced previously.
After speaking to that gentleman as he relayed that actual experience to me, I wrote down the title of this article ?Pain = Gain & Bad = Good?. My Friend, everything in our life is in fact in ?Divine Order? and works eventually for our ultimate GOOD!

| Time To Think - October 31, 2007 - Control! Control! Control! | My Friend, the most important word which is repeated three times with exclamation marks after each word in the title of this article, is absolutely vital for you to understand it?s importance, and thus apply it in literally every phase of your life, that is of course, if you want to succeed beyond your wildest dreams.
In Webster?s New World Dictionary two of the definitions of the word ?Control? are ?1. To exercise authority over; direct; command 2. To hold back; curb; restrain?. Yes indeed, if we wish to have a series of successful days, which will ultimately result in a successful life, there?s no doubt about it, we simply must exercise control over ourselves, in all that we do.
We need to as the dictionary states, exercise authority over our every thought, word, and action as we proceed throughout the day?s activities. We also need to restrain ourselves when we are about to say or do something which will be detrimental to us. We need to curb ourselves when we want to do something, which we know full well will not be in our best interests. When we are about to verbally lash out at others who have perhaps done something which annoys us greatly, we need to hold back our emotions, and not therefore say something which we will greatly regret later.
As I have written about on many occasions in the past, if we wish to attain and indeed maintain a successful life in all of it?s myriad facets; there?s no doubt about it, we have to practice self-discipline each and every day. And My Friend, what exactly is self-discipline all about but ?Control! Control! Control!?.
Yes My Friend, we simply must exercise control over our every thought, word, and action throughout the day and night if we want to savor true and lasting success, and of course, if we want to live a long, contented, happy, fulfilled, and indeed healthy life. We need to exert control relative to our health so that we exercise authority over our eating and drinking habits, thereby only eating reasonable portions of the right foods, whilst simultaneously restraining ourselves from drinking the wrong drinks.
If we wish to always be positive as we pursue our goals and objectives, we need to command ourselves not to get negative. When someone annoys us in either a personal or business setting, we have to restrain ourselves, thus not allowing ourselves to verbally lash out at those people.
There?s no doubt about it, if you wish to consistently live the ?Good Life?, you need to heed today?s most important lesson, thus always exercising ?Control! Control! Control!? over your life and affairs.

| Time To Think - October 30, 2007 - Submit to your divine destiny | In talking about ?Destiny? William Jennings Bryan said ?Destiny is not a matter of chance, it is a matter of choice; it is not a thing to be waited for, it is a thing to be achieved?. Oh how absolutely true that is, and on the same subject William E. Henley reiterated when he said ?I am the master of my fate; I am the captain of my soul?. Yes My Friend, I honestly believe that each and every one of us has a Divine Destiny, and until we choose to follow the directions of our Creator and thus ?Submit to our Divine Destiny?, we will not be content.
Yes indeed, if we want to excel, to succeed in the true sense of the word, there?s no doubt about it, we need to discover and fully understand exactly what our Creator, God prepared us for, and thus expects us to rigorously pursue during this existence on planet earth. I believe that the word ?Purpose? could indeed be likened to the word ?Destiny? as both really are the same thing to me.
As we all know, well at least those of us who have a genuine interest in discovering ?The Truth?, what life is all about, is discovering that God has endowed each and every one of His children with Unique and Special Talents. Then we need to fully understand, that there are a whole lot of people spread throughout this great big world of ours, who have a Special Need for what we have to offer.
