Episode 8: Blackout
?The Past Is Never Past? is a sentimental, bittersweet song by singer Andrea Revel, whose music is a blend of folk-pop with light, electronic beats. If her voice sounds familiar, that?s because she?s also the vocalist on the ReGenesis theme that opens each show, a song she also co-wrote. Also featured are the ethereal vocals and moody instrumentation of Kristy Thirsk on ?Home For Angels?, definitely a musical highlight from the TV series.?

Episode 202: Escape Mutant
Brooklyn-based Mudville plays great moody, electro rock-pop, and their track "The Hero Of The World" has a great swagger to it that really fits David's character. Later in the episode, "Turn Up The Dark" by British epic-melodic-rock quartet Stirling plays under a combination of scenes, capturing everyone's emotions nicely. Plus Evan Jones drops by to talk about the ReGenesis Extended Reality Game, and we feature more great music by score composer Tom Third.

Episode 203: The Cocktail
We've featured the chilled out, loungy, downtempo sounds of Soma Sonic before on ReGenesis : ReMixed. This time the Montreal duo is back with "The Well", with Christelle Pechin lending support on vocals. Raised By Swans contribute their ethereal and atmospheric sounds to a montage of scenes near the end of the episode. There's a wide range of on-screen emotions, and their song "Violet Light" ties it all together nicely. Plus Andrea Higgins and Ron Proulx continue their conversation from episode 1, walking through the process behind selecting the score and the songs featured in ReGenesis.

Episode 205: Massive Changes
Talented Montreal duo Soma Sonic return in this episode of ReGenesis : ReMixed with "Could It Be Real", a hip loungy track that plays in the background at David's loft. Also featured are Hush Hush, an eclectic foursome that combines electric guitars and cello played through effects pedals. Their bittersweet song "Misguided" plays under an emotional scene in which David receives devastating news about his mother.

Episode 206: Our Men In Havana
Sienna cleverly combines jazz, pop and folk sounds with smart, thought-provoking lyrics, and her song "Seasons Change" plays under a montage of scenes in which Caroline returns from the hospital while David mourns the death of his mother. Eliana Cuevas incorporates jazz melodies and latin rhythms in "Luna Llena", a song that plays at a Cuban beach party. Finally "You Say You Love Me" by Swing Soniq is a bit of a departure musically from what we usually feature in the show, but the track provides great musical counterpoint to David arguing with his father and really helps lighten up the scene.

Episode 207: Talk to Him
Mary Ancheta is a Vancouver-based singer/songwriter whose self-produced album mixes British-influenced soul music and live drum and bass, all added to songs with uplifting, anthemic choruses. Her track "All That We Are" is great loungy groove pop that plays in the background of Jill's date with an old friend. Andrea sits down with ReGenesis re-recording mixers John Gare and Al DeGraff, who talk about the overall sound design in ReGenesis and how the show is put together. Also featured is Dala, a talented female singer-songwriter duo whose track "Butterfly To Wasp" plays under Caroline's nephew uttering one last, devastating message.

Episode 209: Gene In A Bottle
Singer-songwriter Royal Wood is back in season 2 of ReGenesis, this time with "Once" from his upcoming second release. The song is a bit more fun and quirky than what we're used to hearing over lab montages, but it supports the scene really well and lightens the mood. Also on this episode is another serving of groove-laden decadence from duo Soma Sonic called "Everything". The song is a bit of a departure from the rest of their material, but still sounds cool in the background of a dinner party at David's loft.

Episode 210: The Wild and Innocent
Lots of great songs today; we kick it off with the dark and trippy sounds of The Straggler, aka Kevin Lynn of King Cobb Steelie fame. "Rubylith" plays under an intense, dramatic scene of Ramona overdosing on crystal meth, and really brings out the panic on screen. Next is "Gamma Hydra IV" by Microbunny, headed up by Al Okada, another King Cobb Steelie alum. This dark, ominous track features Tamara Williamson on vocals, and plays under a montage of David studying addiction statistics. We had fun branching out a little bit with the musical selection for the next track, "Dream" by Controller 7, and the song works really well against the close-ups of Owen's pipe. "Motel" by Brian Borcherdt closes out this episode of ReGenesis : ReMixed. Brian is a multi-talented musician whose work runs the gamut from experimental electronic projects to rock bands to acoustic songwriting. The track works beautifully under David leaving Owen in the courthouse, having a drink, reflecting in his loft and receiving an unsettling phone call from his dad.

Episode 211: Fishy
Electro 4 comes to us via Montreal's Third Side Music, and their track "Afie's Song" plays under a big dinner scene at David's loft. The song has a few different chapters to it that work especially well in the part of the scene where David's father mistakes Mayko for David's wife. And as always, lots of great music from score composer Tom Third.
