Annie Smith: Quilting Stash Episodes - | Show 178 - Audio Only | Welcome to the Podcast Version of the Vidcast!
Things are still changing around at QuiltingStash, the site design, and the classrooms, are all part of that change. Now I am including video in my podcasts (we call them "vidcasts").
It's so exciting that you will be able to join me in my studio from time to time and see what I'm doing. My plan is to take the camera places for you to see all of the quilty goodness that I come across.
I hope you continue to join me! For all of you podcast-true people, we will continue to bring you a separate audio program of all of the video casts as well as our regular audio-only podcasts. It's the best of BOTH WORLDS!
Be sure to visit my website at www.simplearts.com to see the accompanying blog and other information that I mention in this vidcast!
Happy Quilting!

| Show 175 | A Visit with the Maven of Applique, Elly Sienkiewicz
Hi Quilters!
Elly and I had a brief window of time to chat at the end of session 2 of the Empty Spools Seminar last March. What strikes you most about Elly is what a gentle and gracious lady she is... then you discover that she has a great sense of humor.

| Quilting Stash Show Number 172 | This is the second podcast of my trip to the East Coast. I am having such a blast meeting listeners, new shop owners, shop staff, and teachers. Hi to all!
Coming to you tonight from Baltimore I talk about my experiences at Thimble Pleasures in Carrboro, North Carolina. We even had a Quilting Stash meet-up! It was so much fun.
The part of Baltimore where I'm staying is so beautiful. Bunnies and fireflies are in the neighborhood -- or were they put there just for me?
More to come!

| Quilting Stash Show Number 160 | All this week I?ve felt like Cinderella at the ball. My experience at Asilomar has been nothing short of fantastic! But all good things, as the clock strikes midnight around the Monterey Bay, must come to an end.
This is just a short wrap-up as I get my things packed into my car and prepare for my drive back home.
?but wait!! There?s much much more coming in the next few days. Listen-in as I describe the line-up.

| Quilting Stash Show Number 159 | Day 2 at Asilomar is making it quite the whirlwind week for me.
In this podcast, I review the teachers, talk about some of the things I'm doing.
Really this is just a quick update. I'll have much more to talk about when I get back home. What am I saying? After this, it's only one week to my retreat! Oh my gosh - I've got so much to do!

| Quilting Stash Show Number 152 | This is the first full-podcast after my trip across country.
I promised some good interviews with quilters and quilt shops across the country and here are my first two. First I spoke with my pal Gina Halliday from Southern California and then I visited the owner of a cool fabric store in Solvang, "The Creation Station". Listen-in to my conversation with these two remarkable women.
All of that and a whole lot more.

| Quilting Stash Show Number 151 | This is my final Quilting Stash Coast-to-Coast entry.
I finally made it home but I'm still on the road. Since I've been home I haven't spent more than a few hours in the house. I explain why the road has been my master even when I returned home.
Before that I have to tell you about the wonderful snow Ryan, Karen, and I enjoyed the same day I was to return home. I also talk about flight delays and some of the drama that played out as I tried to get home.
Oh yes, I also talk about what quilt stores do on snowdays.
All of that and a whole lot more.

| Quilting Stash Show Number 150 | I'm still resting from my marathon drive and having a good time with my son Ryan and his wife, Karen.
But that didn't stop me from visiting a quilt shop. I found this cute little place, on Highway 64 in Apex, North Carolina. It's called Plain and Simple Quilt Shop, in an old house re-purposed into this store.
Here's an outside shot of the store:
I hadn't made any arrangements to speak with the store owner or to take any pictures. I will be going back there tomorrow to do both, so you will see and hear more in a future podcast!
