There was a unique escort leading the Ferraris down Pall Mall en route to Silverstone: Ferrari created a special version of their flagship V12 612 Scaglietti liveried in police colours and which was driven by police officers. Around 600 Ferrari owners joined the four-day UK tour in various stages on the 1500 miles through Northern Ireland, Scotland, Wales and England.
The British public are reaching breaking point over the continuing rise of speed cameras on the roads. There is particular opposition to the growing use of 'time trial' speed cameras, which calculate a car's average speed between two points. 47% of people questioned in new research by Road Angel oppose this tactic, which equates to 15 million drivers.
