Pastor Jacob Jurado's Sermon Episodes - | Lazy (Audio) | When a teacher of the law tests Jesus with a question about obtaining eternal life, he does not realize that his question is based off two false assumptions. If we examine ourselves closely, we'll find that we have something in common with this teacher of the law. Turn with me to Luke 10 as we listen to these few words of Jesus that should change our assumptions. | Get at Short URL | Download Lazy (Audio) | Play in Popup.

| Brett Favre | Even if you're not into sports it would be hard to miss the drama following Brett Favre. Favre retired earlier this year and then changed his mind. Unfortunately, Favre was not welcomed back with opened arms. After offering 20 million to stay retired, telling him that he would be the backup quarterback, and then doing everything to keep him away, the Green bay Packers finally traded Favre to the New York Jets (a team that won 4 games last year). I image that there were many moments after he announced his retirement that Brett Favre wished he never made that choice. I wonder if he ever imagines how different his life would be now if he had never retired. There's something universal human about Brett's off season. We see it in our own life and we see it in the life of Samson | Get at Short URL | Download Brett Favre | Play in Popup.

| Die | Today we look at Mark 3:20-25 and witness a moment where Mary had to realize that the relationship she has always had with her son has to die in order for her to continue to have a healthy relationship with him. As we look at this passage, we'll realize that that this principle isn't isolated only with the relationship of Mothers and children, but it is within the fabric of creation. Why? | Mess In The Middle | Today we have a guest speaker, Jason Salamun, who is launching a Church here in Rapid City, SD. I asked Jason to come and to share his heart, hoping that his heart would spread through our our church like chicken pox among school kids. Because of audio problems (I forgot to push a button), we were only able to record the first 43 mins of his message. Thankfully, Jason has posted his notes on his blog site so you can read what wasn't recorded. | Get at Short URL | Download Mess In The Middle | Play in Popup.

| Enchanted | The movie Enchanted poses the question, can you have a fairy tale relationship in the real world? This isnt just a meaningless question, but it is a question that every couple must ask. Fortunately, this is a question that God speaks to in Scripture. This may sound weird, but I believe in fairy tales, because I believe in Eden. I believe the relationship of Adam and Eve is a template of every fairy tale ever told. I believe it is still in the hearts of every boy, girl, and adult. But does that mean that fairy tales no longer exist since Adam and Eve sinned and were kicked out of the garden? | Denial And Medical Casts | There were two criminals crucified on each side of Jesus. I believe at some point we will all find ourselves in this situation. The question is which criminal will we be. One was in denial, grasping for life, trying to make himself feel better. The other had let go of life and accepted the harsh reality of his guilt and helplessness. One will die and experience life to the fullest, while the other will die with a cast, never to have known and never to know the full life Jesus provides. | Get at Short URL | Download Denial And Medical Casts | Play in Popup.

| If Only Moses Had A Marine | Today we have Terry Packman, an ex-Marine, helping me teach from the book of Numbers. For over 500 years the descendants of Abraham have been looking forward to the fulfillment of God's promise to inherit the land of Canaan. After leaving Egypt, they have been marching to Canaan in order to take what has been promised, but when they get there, they abandon their promise, they abandon their mission and decide to turn back. What can a Marine teach us about our mission? Listen and find out. | Get at Short URL | Download If Only Moses Had A Marine | Play in Popup.

| Out Of Oredr | There's a certain order to things... Sometimes, when something gets out of order there are no drastic consequences, but other times the consequences are huge. Today we're going to look at Matthew 9 and Luke 15, two circumstances where the religious leaders are shocked that Jesus is hanging out with shady people, and find that when we make God's primary desire secondary, the consequences are destructive. This message is inspired by a podcast from National New Church Conference with John Burke, and Vince Antonucci. | Do Not Watch This Game Alone | I remember watching this incredible Laker game all alone a few years ago. They should have lost, but two miracles happened and Kobe Bryant hit two incredible shots (one to tie the game at the end of regulation, and one to win it in overtime). All I remember is jumping in the air celebrating in disbelief and then 2 mins after the game ended i did something....i was compelled to do something...i called my brother and then my father so we could all celebrate together. The moment was good celebrating it alone, but something deep inside wanted to share it with somebody else. God looked down and said, "It's not good for man to be alone." | Get at Short URL | Download Do Not Watch This Game Alone | Play in Popup.

| Looking For Jesus In A Bar | I read my Bible, mediate on His word, pray, go to church, and do my best to live a holy life, but I have a problem...I want more of Jesus. I'm not satisfied. Maybe, to experience Jesus more fully, i need to join Him in His work. Maybe...to understand where Jesus is working in this world, i need to understand His heart. Where will this all lead me? Where will i end up? Maybe...just maybe...it'll lead me into a bar. | Reconciliation (Part I) | In this message we looked at the 6th commandment from God, Jesus commentary on that commandment (Matthew 5:21-25) and how in the world murdering has anything to do with our series: the Bait of Satan. | Laying Down Freedoms | We look at two passages from Matthew. One shows how Jesus offends the religious leaders without a second thought. | shaken | Often storms and quakes come and shake our lives. For some, these occurrences cause their lives to crumble, while for others, it becomes a purifying process. | The Uncommitted Jesus | We know that the virtue of "Faithfulness" or of being "Committed" is very important to our Christian Faith, but would you be surprised if we found Jesus to be very uncommitted? | The Gumball Machine Of Life | Have you ever wanted to question God? Have you ever cried out to God, "God, Where's your goodness?" or "Where's your justice?" Have you ever experienced the impulse to shout at God and ask Him what in the world He is doing? Have you done that before? Is that wrong? Does that mean you've lost your faith? Does God get angry when you do things like that? Could it really be true that God loves and desires these types of questions?
