It may sound easy to teach your native language at first, but when your students don't speak it, and you don't speak your students' language, teaching English gives more of a challenge than you originally thought. Jen provides tips on teaching English as a second language, including how to get a class of silent students to speak, how to get them to understand what they are phonetically reading and how to get them to write and express themselves.
