Geocentric Episodes - | Episode 11 - The Hostile Takeover of Akward Silence | Episode 11 - The Hostile Take-over of Awkward Silence 9/3/2008. Geocentric is ready to kill the awkward silence this week with some fresh topics!
This week, Nate and John talk about:
1. Current International Events: Russian Propoganda - Appearing at the right place at the right time with the right weapon, Putin single handedly saves the day (and multiple lives)! Sounds staged to me! This on the same day as the suspicious death of a Kremlin internet critic. And apparently Stalin's mass murders were, "entirely rational." Really? Hear Nate and John talk about what they think of the Russian propoganda machine!
2. Tech & Entertainment: Welcome, Google Chrome - Nate downloaded it and we weigh in our opinions on the new Google browser. Could it take over Microsoft's Internet Exploer or Mozilla's Firefox? It's hard to tell right now, but we'll tell you how Chrome (currently in testing "Beta" version) holds up to the competitors. Nate and John then reveal a dirty little secret of Google Chrome that you might easily overlook when installing it. You'll want to know!
3. Are You Kidding Me?: A Chinese guy gets struck by lightning when he swears to God - that's right, you'll just have to listen to the story.
4. Streetwise: Office Jargon Decoded - Don't understand what's going on at work? We'll give you some typical office jargon and the real world translations.
5. Business, Finance & Marketing: 10 Things Millionaires Won't Tell You - Nate and John comment on a recent article by Daren Fonda of SmartMoney.com. Get into the mind of millionaires and find out what they're really thinking - based on studies and statistics.
This week's extras in the podcast:
-Tech Byte Update with Ethan Clark - Microsoft and OpenSource - what will Microsoft do know? Get in the know!
-Stump Cha Cha - We have a good one this week, maybe we'll score.
-Discover New Music - New music by Mercy Mercedes
-*New* Guess that Accent - See how you do guessing sound clips of people reading English from different parts of the world!

| Episode 10 - Revamped | Episode 10 - Revamped 8/28/2008. Geocentric has been revamped! We're still carrying out the hostile takeover of one-way news, but now we have a cool new format. Each week we're going to give you 5 topics to use in any conversation, kind of like Episode 4, but even better! We'll give you more than the one-way news so you can impress all in a conversation about any of these five subjects: Current International Events; Business, Marketing and Finance; "Are You Kidding Me?" (funny news); "Streetwise"; and Tech and Entertainment.
This week, Nate and John talk about:
1. Current International Events: Illegal immigrants arrested when seeking health care - get in on the debate!
2. Business, Marketing and Finance: Top ten ways to save money by cutting back - Save $5,000 a year? We'll break it down.
3. Are You Kidding Me?: Real airport horror stories - woman's bra causes humiliation, old woman takes a ride on the luggage conveyor belt!
4. Streetwise: Eight email scams that have fooled millions - get a good laugh and learn how to not be a victim.
