Friday Night Blues and Beer #106
The Beer: Dude! Where's my beer? Say hello to Dude Beer from the Pacific Western Brewing Company in Prince George, B.C.. I found it at a local store and couldn't resist the simplicity. She pours a clear yellowish copper with a massive head that slinks down and laces real nice. Smells mildly of hops with touches of grass but you really have to inhale to pull that up. Tastes real thin and watery with a little bit of a beer taste and not much else... As a taster it doesn't rank high up the scale but as a session beer where your sitting around with your buddies under a hot sun it would do ok. Contains 5% alcohol and cost $20 Canadian for a 15 pack. One thumb up but as always get a second opinion. The Blues: I had actually started on this weeks show about three weeks ago and my initial vision was to come up with something representing fantasy evening at the Dust my Broom blues bar. It sounded like a good idea but then all the drinkin' and fighting and hootin' and hollering and breaking glass and Indian pow wowing really took away from the music. I had to take it out but I'll leave you with the imagery to maybe drop it in yourself - Let's get it on: The Playlist: Lazy Lester (I'm Your Breadmaker Baby), Left Hand Freddy & the Aces (Little Bit More Lovin'), Johnny Shines (Too Wet To Plow), Ron Teamer Band (Big Red Rooster), Little Charlie and The Nightcats (Nervous), Reno Jones (Forecast Calls For Pain), David Rotundo (Let's Have A Good Time), Gwyn Ashton (Ball And Chain), Nick Moss And The Flip Tops (Mistakes From The Past), Michael Burks (Miss Mercy), French Cookin' Blues Band (You Got To Move), Brian Stoltz (War Song), Freddie King (Walking by Myself), R. L. Burnside (Rollin' And Tumblin'), Luther Allison (What's Going On In My Home), and Lucky Peterson (Kinda Easy Like). Lyrical highlight:I'm a bad, bad rooster - don't you step across this line.If you do buddy I'll tell you now, your ass is gonna be mine. See you inside!{mp3}050908_FridayNightBlues{/mp3} (Download)   1:20:05 36.6MBFriday Links: OMMAG - she's well worth the time |

Friday Night Blues and Beer #105
The Beer: Say hello to the Honeydew from Fuller's Griffin Brewery in London, England. She pours a wonderful clear golden copper with a thinnish head thats slips away quickly and forms a half-moon film. Smells of floral hops and sweet honey with tinges of grass. Honey is the first thing that touches the palate and is followed up with some sweet roasted malt and then some mettalic something... After the initial pull she gets a little tiresome to drink if a beer can be described that way. I'm pretty disappointed as I was looking forward to a nice honey to go with a pretty Cuban. Maybe next time. Contains 5% alcohol and ran me around $4 Canadian. Two thumbs down but as always get a second opinion. As an aside this is the fourth beer out of the hundred and so I've tried that I couldn't finish. Its just sad. The Blues: This is one of those 'unusual' Friday Night Blues podcasts where I veer off on a guitar centric blues tangent with groovy and swamp filled riffs backed up with a bouncy driving bass that hugs the floor. The blues is not just about pushing out retrogressed sorrow but is also a container for those special elements of extra great joy.  Tonight is all about that - Let's get it on: Playlist: Erin Jaimes with John McVey & The Stumble (Watch Yourself), Ronnie Baker Brooks (I Had My Chance), Monster Mike Welch (Keep on Walking),  Maynard Brothers Band (Used To Do Before), Nothin' But Trouble (Oh, You), Indigenous (Runaway), Johnny A (You Don't Love Me),  Renee Austin (Catfish Woman), The Johnny Nocturne Band (What a Way to Go), Magic Frankie (That's What You Get), Terry Frank (No More Doggin'), Hot Dog Taylor (Wheelin' & Dealin'), The Dusters (What Can I Say), Michael Burks (Ashes in My Ashtray), Scott Keeton & The Deviants (Sugar Hill), and Rob Orlemans & Half Past Midnight (Red House).Lyrical highlight:Good morning blues what have you got to say?I lost all I had then you drove me away.Don't mind me, I'm just feeling around for my shoes.I'm gonna keep on walkin', its the only thing I know to do. See you inside! {mp3}050208_FridayNightBlues{/mp3} (#) 1:12:26 33.1 MBFriday Links: Billy Joe Green to be featured on Saturday's Rez Bluez TV | OMMAG - She's all about pleasing the senses | Friday night female flesh - remembering the 80's | Friday night non-gay man flesh | More Friday female flesh .. | A good beer blog - babies and bock |

Friday Night Blues and Beer #104
The Beer: Say hello to the Mirror Pond Pale Ale from the Dechutes Brewery in Bend, Oregon. She pours a cloudy amber with a thin white head that sinks down but holds its ground and keeps the goodness covered. The waft at the nose is heavily hoppy and fruity with citrus bite. It is a real dry beer with no noticable malts as it leans towards extreme dry hops and spiciness. Very tangy and fruity... I like it but have some meat in your belly before putting one down. Contains 5.5% alcohol and ran around $6.50 for a six in America. Two thumbs up but as always get a second opinion.  The Blues: Work is something we all have to do but hey its Friday night and I can tell you there are many days where I am glad I have the blues.  Had a hard week - just crack a cold one, lean back and it will massage the hard right out of you - Let's get it on: Playlist: The Producers (Work), William Clarke (Must Be Jelly), Tom Faulkner (River On The Rise), Heaven Davis (Tapping On My Window Pane), Layla Zoe *Hot Canadian (Someday), Michael Fell (Grind Em Up), Jeff Pitchell (Eye for an Eye), Kasa Chorych (Szlaufik Blues), Pat 'Guitar Slim' Chase (Guitar Slim), The Breeze Kings (Sorry That You Put Me Down), Porch Rockers (Walking With Holes In My Shoes), Mark Ford (Heart breakin Blues), Lightnin' Hopkins (Glory Be), Sean Costello (Anytime You Want), James Peterson (Tired Of Catchin' Hell), and The Hamsters (Glad When I Got the Blues). Lyrical highlight:I've been hiding away, glory be Glory be won't you please come back to meIf I've been a bad man glory,Poor (insert your name here) didn't intend to be. See you inside - turn it up and turn on!{mp3}042508_FridayNightBlues{/mp3} (#) 1:11:03 32.5MB Friday Links: Friday Night Man & Female Flesh | Sunday is Ted's birthday | Calgary Beer Fest | Roster for the Calgary Blues Festival has been announced | OMMAG: think lime wedges in iced bottles sweating condensation like golden skinned girls doing the samba on a humid killer hot night... | How much to get her to wear her old dominatrix outfit? | Ask the scold |

Friday Night Blues and Beer # 103
The Beer: Say hello to the Creemore Springs Traditional Pilsner from Creemore, Ontario. She pours a beautiful gold with a moderate two finger white head that dissipates rather quickly but leaves a decent lace around the glass. Smells of nutty malts and floral hops with a touch of apple. She is clean tasting with her malty sweetness and creamy mouthfeel with some slight bittery citrus in the finish but positively refreshing... Contains 5.3% alcohol and I give her two thumbs up but as always get a second opinion . Big thanks to WLMR for the taste. The Blues: This is what happens when you try and obtain a darkish mood with whiskey and run out of Coke for the mix and end up using Dr. Pepper instead - relentless I tell ya - Let's get it on:Playlist: Dave Walker (Hard Headed Woman),  Walter Trout (Tellin' Stories), Micheal Hill's Blues Mob (Long Hot Night), Dennis Peters Band (Too Many Nights), Fats Wah Wah (Crawlin' King Snake), Sunpie & The Louisiana Sunspots (Been So Long), Bobby Mack (Block Party), The Kinsey Report (Change Your Evil Ways), Downchild Blues Band (It's Been So Long), Frank Bey (Bed For My Soul), Smokin' Joe Kubek & Bnois King (She Can Smell Another Woman), Steve Marriner (Zulu Ripper), Stacy Mitchhart (I'll Play The Blues For You), Steve Strongman (Hard Headed Lover), Finis Tasby (Sitting In My Window), and Wes Jeans (Ridin' In The Moonlight).Lyrical highlight:My mama said the day I was born, bring me a drink of that Georgian corn. This boy's gonna travel down that lonesome road.To find a bed for his body, and to find a bed for his soul.See you inside!{mp3}041808_FridayNightBlues{/mp3} (#)  1:11:29 32.7 MBFriday Links:OMMAG - Those first kisses are oh so sweet......... Friday Night Beer & Blues # 102
The Beer: Say hello to the Pipeline Porter from the Kona Brewing Company in Kona, Hawaii. She pours a rich, black amber with a very mild and short-term top on it that sinks down to a miniscule lace. Smells strongly of coffee with just a touch of malty sweetness. The coffee dominates the flavor with with a little black licorice and some chocolate in the backend. For a dark brew it is fairly light but there is just a tad too much coffee flavor for me especially on a nice day out like today. Contains 5.40% alcohol and cost around $6.50 Canadian in the states. Maybe on another day I would appreciate it more but for now all I can garner right now is one thumb up but as always get a second opinion.  The Blues: Baby we're laying back tonight, kicking back and feeling the love. Smoke it if you got it, pour a tall 10 ounce glass of hard on ice and close your eyes because tonight the music is falling from the sky and the blues is coming to call. Tonight is for my friends named Bob past and present. I can still touch you wherever you are and there is always a happy ending - let's get it on: Playlist: Paul Lamb & The Kingsnakes (Somedays),  Los Lonely Boys (Velvet Sky), Elliott And The Untouchables (Blues Came Callin'), Erica Guerin (The Sun Shines On Everyone), Duster Bennett (The Rolling Stone), Snooks Eaglin (Black Night),  Anya Singleton (Ball and Chain), Wallace Coleman (Big Dog Blues), Eddy Clearwater (Reservation Blues),  Melanie Mason hotty alert! (Crave), James Cotton (Friends), Nick & Peaches (Let's Do It Tonight), Jesse ''Wild Bill'' Austin (Juice Head Baby), Ray Bonneville (Just Before Dawn), Crazy Hambones (Sun's Gonna Shine), Karl Morgan (Cult of the Self) and Too Slim & The Taildraggers (More Must Be Better).Lyrical highlight:What's wrong with me, Lord I wish I only knew.Somedays I just can't seem to shake these blues See you inside!{mp3}041108_FridayNightBlues{/mp3} (#) 1:32:06 42.1MB Friday links: Friday Night Man Flesh starring the broom.
