We can say that Bush II ain't no hero but MJ is going to be bigger than Elvis, Bob Marley and the Beatles combined. He was world wide to the tiniest of huts. Some icons like Joe Strummer we wish were bigger. Some icons like Farah Fawcett we wish had won in the end but this story goes on without us whether we accept it or not. Even this blog entry will go deep someday soon but here you are reading it in the now. That is what we have. The download and hour or so of listening and then it is gone. The start of summer has officially started for all the working stiffs. This show is packed with so much  new stuff we barely had time to fit it in everything we wanted to spin. Which is a good problem to have these days. So much great new music out there. As per our usual though we've mixed in the old with the new and this time we even gave you some metal or at least the review stalker music blog version of it.First set starts with Bedlam doing lost in space theme, Making Time by The Creation, American Heavy Metal weekend by the Circle Jerks from the album Wonderful. A new one by Dinosour Jr called I want you to know, Where have all the good times gone by Van Halen and another new one by Superchunk Learned to Surf. The second set features a newish tune by Bubble/gum from their free love lp called hearts forever, followed by Rick Froberg's new band Obits, Husker Du and The Night Marchers. Third set brings you some Pronto, Replacements, Capsula, The Clash and we wrap it up with The Feelies doing a cover of "What goes on".

Welcome to the drunken analog set Kissing 2008 Goodbye, The best of. ha! Apologies in advance for commentary from Jonah Hill. The guy would not shut the fuck-up. Our list was long this year. Some bands put out actual records that were great from start finish are featured in this podcast like No Age, The Notwist, British Sea Power, Young Widows, The Raveonettes, Pete and the Pirates. A reissue of Nick Lowe's Jesus of Cool made it to the top 20 list. New Jersey did not disappoint with The Gaslight Anthem 's The 59' Sound. Great cross-over alt/punk record, very proud of these native sons. TV on Radio also made it on the list with Dear Science,; She & Him Volume 1 is also steller thru and thru even though it might not be your cup of tea i like this because it is so 50's influenced in all sorts of cool ways making it essentially a true cover's record. For whateve reason we dig "A-Punk" by Vampire Weekend which is also very retro but a likable track, as is "Turn Tail" by  Young Knifes from Leicestershire. Lots of Brits on the best of list this year. Anyway, check it out. Looking forward to spinning some new stuff and old wax soon. Winter is freezing us all out. DJ Spork was hard at work thinking of some rock just for you in this latest podcast so get some Holiday Cheer! This show is like all the others although we do terrorize you with some Christmas music which will be out of date in a few days so we hope you don't notice. Summer is gone and we're in the twilight of a terrible situation. In this show we feature Holier Than Seattle compilation on Heat Blast Records but kick-off the set with a RAC Remix of "Be Good" by Tokyo Police Club, "Second Hand-Smoke by the Moist Boyz 7", a DJ Shadow instrumental hip-hop mix. I am not sure exactly when the Heat Blast compilation came out exactly but I think it was early 91 or so. The A side has Freak Theatre featuring Tommy Southern on guitar followed with 'Give an Inch' then 'Save' by Glueneck. The B side has Big Nurse with 'Love you tomorrow' and the grand finale with 'Fuck Sharp' by Nudeswirl. This 7" ep was one of those pieces of wax that brought a  scene together in a lot of ways but unfortunately did not take off as it should have but it did produce Monster Magnet, got Nude Swirl on Beavis and Butthead and all sorts of mini-success stories. Set three goes accross the pond with The Young Knifes, 'The Crunge' by Zeppelin, 'Waving Flags' by British Sea Power,and finish off with Oasis. Back in the usa Idaho does 'The thick and thin', from Film Cool Hand Luke Paul Newman(RIP) does 'Plastic Jesus'. Last cut 'Colder' by Throwing Muses off their record House Tornado. Plus some other nuggets. Enjoy.

This show's theme centers around Politi; the only original thing on TV besides sports so you have nothing to lose and everything to gain. We unearth a lot great old wax and ask the question how come new American music  doesn't have any artists with a social edge or theme? (*with some exceptions) Featuring:  The music of The Stranglers,  Gang of Four, The Replacements* doing "kids don't follow", Dead Kennedy's*, Radio 4* with "Election Day", The Alarm playing "Marching On", "Life during war time" by the Talking Heads*(gotta dig that big ass white suit), "What ever happens" next by the Swell Maps ( i confused them with wipers during session), Shannon from the Cows breaks out the double horns with  "Heave Ho" (whatever happened to them?) they were one of the best ny punk bands ever,  Ted Leo and the pharmacist breakout "Bomb, Repeat, Bomb", Billy Bragg "Help save the youth of America" and end the set with a cover by  Radiodread 's Raga stars doing "electioneering". -----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------This show features  the Review Stalker wrap-up with some of this yearâs best releases and downloads for 2007!  Kicking off the set with NegativeLandâs âYou canât Always Get What You Wantï? and cues into Meddle by Pink Floyd, the intro is the Sporkian lazymanâs mash-up for no other reason what so ever of course. Chasing down some of these release is  never ever a direct path, they just are jsut good, and I must say that one of those albums that grew on me this year was Challenger by The New Pornographers, not quite the hit-machine as twin cinema but still some quality nuggets. Some of the documentaries that made it to the screening room were WE JAM ECONO about The Minutemen and the Joe Strummer doc The Future is Unwritten by Julian Temple. We also finally saw American Hardcore of which we could do a show unto itself; in ode to the later, though we feature a track by the 101âers and Watt and the boys in celebration of these stellar releases. Followed by the guitar dirge of The Ponys, from their album Turn the light Out. Next up is something off of Sky Blue Sky by Wilco, âYou are my faceï?, They Might Be Giants off of their release the Else doing âThe Captnâ, followed by  Ted Leo / Pharmacists doing âColleenï? off of Living with the living. Super Fury Animals, title track. Show your Hands. Spoon, doing âï? off of GA GA GA GA GA, The Shins off Wincing the night away with "Sleeping lessons". The historical document ends with New Radiohead, Of Montreal, and The National

N.J. is flooding, people are being evacuated from Trailerparks inWoodbridge, and us, in-between some shop-vac action, were able to get down to business in the Grandview studios basement and record this podcast. I truly noticed the water at first from a little shock while touching turntable number one. (Note to self: wear rubber sole shoes next time it's raining hard) That said, this set is dedicated to all the dead people from VA Tech. Up first by the Buthole Surfers, "Hurdy Gurdy Man" off of a 7", backed by Apostle of Hustle with "My Sword Hand's Anger" (nothing like a little swift justice), followed by "The Unwanted Things" by Jersey's Ted Leo and Pharmacist. Next set starts with a Uncle Tupelo doing "We've been Had" a live version contained on the their Anthology CD, followed by The Jim Carroll Band, from the LP Catholic Boy, w/ "People Who Died", and then a live cover by Gillian Welch doing a Radiohead cover "Black Star"(this is an awesome version of the tune btw). Set number 3 has Aztec Camera doing "Jump"(van halen), we squeeze in a little Black Sea by XTC with from "Respectable Street", followed by  "Michael & Heather at the Baggage Claim" from Fountains of Wayne's new one Traffic and Weather. (harrumph).

On this show we spin tunes that sound like hits or are hits in our opinion. The set kicks it off with "Bunny ain't no kind of rider" off Of Montreal's new one, followed by "Brenda" by the Jon Spencer Blues Explosion from their silver LP Orange, followed by "North east rising sun" from the new Trans Am release Sex Change, The Slats put their spin on some bass driven new wrap disco with "Ignatious" from their new one Boom Patrol -- pick it up for sure we give it 4 stars just for the 2 strings they use, so you will need to recalibrate your rocknroll systems, we follow this track up with Trio on Vinyl with their club hit "Ana - no more no less",  Ghislain Poirier with "MC Diplomat" featuring DJ Collage. Our nod to Guiness brings The Frames from their new album The Cost with a track called "Falling Slowly", b/w The Pogues classic rocker "The Sick Bed of Cuchulainn" from Rum, Sodomy & Lash, House of Pain does it old school with a sub pop 7" @33 instead of 45 with their house tune "Shamrocks & Shenanigans". We throw in a track by Camera Obscura from their recent release "If looks could kill"(love the reverb on this guitar) in the middle there some where, we also spin a newish track by The Arcade Fire called "No Car G" off of Neon Bible. We close the set with a couple Stones covers: one by Red Kross doing their version of "Citadel" from their cover album Teen Babes from Monsanto LP and Streetlab sweeps it up with "Gimme Shelter". You can't ask for more than this for your buck since this show is free. Enjoy.

The best way to experience music is live and in person, second best is on album and well third best is through some type of media; at least in my opinion. For this cast we are eternally grateful to the rbally.net types who go out of their way to post and share some of the best indie and alternative music of our times (1960-00's). So this cast is dedicated to his persistence and taste for which a lot music would be most impossible to come by in particular since so much quality is lost to certain bootlegs, as anybody can dress up a turd, but capturing an era of a band on tape and archiving is just as important as being able to say "I was there". I thought it would be appropriate to put a war theme show together for the current political climate. It's all relative right? For one thing the most disturbing thing is more U.S. soldiers have died this past month(10/06) than any time since the invasion began. The stranger thing is that once I started searching for music that would fit the "War all the time theme" I started to see it going in all sorts of directions, so I included some timely tunes as well as some 'spoken word' samples by Jello Biafra and Noam Chomsky. I might revisit conspiracy type themes later because what is F'd up is that the figure mentioned above is NOT in the  major news outlets; so an extreme shame on you CNN, ABC, CBS, and NBC, etc- note we expected this from FOX, but until then please kick back and strap your boots-on and get your nangry on as this music podcast features: Wartime, The Talking Heads, Black Flag, The Dismemberment Plan, The Clash, Alice Donut, fIREHOSE, The Flamming Lips and The The. Lots of great rock music always comes in the 4th Quarter and most will  not measure up to hard task of putting together a best of list. There are some pretty well known creators who will be shadowed by lesser known giants; who've humbly and unknowingly put forth their best effort. The pay-off is a sweat spicey honey sauce that is sure to please even the most picky of taste buds. The best contenders show has some great tunes by bands like: The Flaming Lips, Trail of Dead, Easy Star All-Stars,  Devics, Belle & Sebastian, Clap you hands say yeah, Neko Case, M.
