Podcast 17 - WEB 2 BE (Seize teh day!)
Well folks, your intrepid audiophile, Reverend X-ister has dug up some fun for you this episode! As you may well know, it's now the second generation of the web; the entry of video into the mix. Video podcasts, movies, TV shows, commercials, music videos and home movies have all migrated to the public forum and are up for inspection, reflection and introspection... First off, before we get to the serious stuff though, our pal Dubya chimes in with a short "State of the Season" address, and directly after, we'll take a sonic journey with a couple of the stars of the second generation web, "Diggnation" and "Tiki Bar TV". If you haven't heard of these shows yet, consider this a primer- if you have, than sit back and enjoy some fun from many of their past shows, and the many references they make to other sites and shows. For if the web is ANYthing, it's referential... After that- a segment called: "Why do you tube?" This is audio culled from youTubers themselves, reflecting on why they feel the need to put themselves out there. The audio you hear from the youTubers is largely unedited, as I felt that they did a good job of telling the youTube story themselves. Let this be a message to the powers that be; we are tired of being spoon fed our information and content, so we shall make our own... Podcasts: Diggnation, Tiki Bar TV Music: "Asia Minor" by Jimmy Wisner aka. Kokomo, "Data Love" by Hacienda featuring Caitlin Devlin, "Fuck Dub" by Tosca, "Barnaby Jones Theme" by Jerry Goldsmith. Samples from "Wave Twisters" by DJ Qbert and "The BBC Essential Mix" featuring Portishead at the turntables. All others are found mixes with no distinct name or artist attached to the tags. (Tag your music people!) Special thanx to boh3m3 and to the many youTubers that replied to his post. Podshow PDN {podshow-8ac52e9b147e86366aae42b0cc55d179}

Podcast 16 - The Nausea and the Remedy
Well here it is folks. My first full podcast since my computer died of a virus. Not as much humor this time around, but that's because every time I went to work on this podcast, I was reminded of a sound byte that I didn't have. But I hope you have fun and enjoy this dark 'cast as C'NP delves into the malaise and nausea that grips many people this time of year and around significant birthdays (as is what happens to our hero), and how "Big Pharma" tries to cure our ills with a pill for every little problem. Also in this 'cast, our long term listeners will remember this bit- "They're Pink!" where we bash one of our favorite whipping boys, Bill O'riley. Then we return to another favorite here in the C'NP editing offices, "Brave New World" where our hero applies his own remedy for his problems. So, take two and call me in the morning if the pain persists... (The Cut and Paste editors assume no responsibility for any deaths or dysfuntion as a result of ingesting this podcast- imbibe at your own risk!) Movie clips: "Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas", "Buckaroo Banzai" TV clips: "Real Time with Bill Mahr" Stories: Excerpt from "Whooping it up in the Uncanny Valley" by Jennifer Shreve as published in Adbusters #68 Vol. 14 (Paraphrased by yours truly, Reverend X-ister) Excerpt from "Brave New World" by Aldous Huxley Music: Most tracks from "Dub Session Podcast" by DJ Chill Will "Fuge in G Minor" by JS Bach "Dub Yalil" by Natacha Atlas (extended vers. mixed by Rev. X-ister) Freddy Mercury mashup from "WTF #25" by MP3J from his podcast "MP3J MisMashes and Aural Oddities" @ PodOmatic.com The BBC's "Essential Mix" featuring Portishead @ the turntables.

Podcast 15 (sort of)
Hey, hey, hey! Guess what I found?!?! Well, as I mentioned in my last post to you all, a virus had scuttled my 'puter and I thought all of my last podcast was lost. Well, this is why I store all of my stuff on an external drive. I had happened to render this version as an mp3 and play it on iTunes (I forget why exactly) and as many of you that use iTunes may know, it copies the files it plays to it's own directory! (that happened to be on my external) So.... Volia! I present to you Podcast 15- the almost lost, incomplete, seven minute long, no name, no intro, with rough sound levels.... *sigh* I guess you get the point....

Podcast 14 - Media Matters
Well, I guess it was just a matter of time before I got around to the subject of the media itself- being immersed in snips and clips and always searching for that next podcast sound bite. So here it is, a small expose on the media and it's very close relationships with the government and big corporations. This cast is somewhat of an homage to pirate radio also, since the bit on media is just this seemingly endless stream of clips and info on the subject (somewhere around 25 min.). Living in a larger city, I get a treat every now and then with a pirate radio station that will pop up and just play all kinds of underground stuff and then disappear as quick as it came. And by the way, since I titled this podcast after a great website of the same name, I think it only proper that I give props to the site Media Matters. It's a great site for information... Podcast 13 - Sordid Stories
SORDID (sor·did) Function: adjective Etymology: Latin sordidus, from sordes dirt -- 1 : marked by baseness or grossness : VILE (sordid motives) 2 : DIRTY, FILTHY b : WRETCHED, SQUALID 3 : meanly avaricious 4 : morally degraded : "a seedy district"; "the seamy side of life"; "sleazy characters hanging around casinos"; "sleazy storefronts with...dirt on the walls"- 5 : dirty, sordid : unethical or dishonest; "dirty police officers"; "a sordid political campaign" synonym see MEAN - sor·did·ly adverb - sor·did·ness noun Hi again, C'NP listeners! May I introduce podcast 13, "Sordid Stories". This 'cast could be considered a continuation of sorts of podcast 12, since it also deals with stories to listen to. This cast starts out with a poke at our favorite whipping boy, Georgie Bush and his thoughts on money... After that we get right into the seemy sexual and yes, sordid stories. First Jim Carroll weighs in with two excerpts from his bestselling book, "The Basketball Diaries", and after that comes William S. Burroughs letting us in on the best way to deal with your enemies... After that, it's a cautionary tale from future's past, namely 1984. Join Winston Smith as he falls in love with Julia and is "cured" of the thought crime of "love"... Podcast 12 - Surreal Stories
Well friends, the editors here at Cut and Paste Radio dug deeeeep into the audio vaults for this episode and came up with some tasty surreal audio bits to entertain you this time around. Well, It's a short "Word from our sponsor", and then it's right into the trip-hop (my music dujour) with an excerpt from "Brave New World". As a matter of fact, you could say that Aldous Huxley is the centerpiece of this podcast like MLK was on podcast 11, because you'll find him popping up in quite a few places... Then we take a little break to catch up on current events to find out who has been listening in our phone conversations and will be again just at a different agency... Then on to some spoken word prose by Laurie Anderson that got the Cut and Paste treatment, and finally, a few words by the man himself, Aldous Huxley on "Brave New World" and his thoughts on the future... Just a note: I hope you haven't been missing some of the regular installments on the program like "They're PINK" and (now this episode) the "Secret Cartoon" hosted by Ren and Stimpy. I'm sure that they will pop up again. None the less, I hope you enjoy this episode of Cut and Paste... Podshow PDN {podshow-8ac52e9b147e86366aae42b0cc55d179}

Podcast 11 - Ambient Bubblebath
Wow- This podcast climbs up the ladder of rap, leaps off the diving board of trip-hop and splashes down in a jacuzzi of ambience- bubbles and all... And who's there to rap some timeless words of wisdom about war? Why it's Rev. Martin Luther King, of course. He's the centerpiece of this 'cast, because I really needed to hear some uplifting and positive words, instead of the negativity and hatred that spews from the likes of most of the people that I make fun of here... That's why there's no PINK award this time around. I just didn't want to listen to any of those jerks... So good ol' Dubya himself tries his hand at rap AND trip-hop, and then MLK comes in and delivers a sermon not to be forgotton soon. Also, C"NP dug up a phone call in which "41" calls "43" regarding "defibrillators", and some crazy T.V. reverend calls yours truly, Reverend X-ister out to reveal my true name! And what do you know, I comply... Hope you enjoy! Podshow PDN {podshow-8ac52e9b147e86366aae42b0cc55d179}
