MelonFarmer is an exciting, original 4 piece rock band. A blend of complex rhythm section, elegant guitar and powerful vocals, combined with slick, catchy tunes, always performed with extreme energy.
The Time EP was released in April 2006, to much critical acclaim from the music press and also, internet and broadcasting radio stations. Tracks from the EP have so far resulted in MelonFarmer being featured as selected band of the month on Halton FMs breakfast radio show (Crackers & Nuts), reaching No3 in the bands.co.uk website and achieving a Top 100 position and rising in the coveted Garageband.com site, offered various publishing deals and will feature in the sound track to various snow board movies due out early 2007.
Since the EP release, MelonFarmer have played a series of live shows, exploding onto famous stages such as, Bristol BierKeller, Carling Academy, the Fleece, Louisiana, Agincourt and soon Londons The Underground Bar. These performances have also received much praise, with the band being hailed as one of Bristols best live acts, due to their musical abilities and also relentless enthusiasm, energy and entertaining stage presence. |

series called the Box.
We will have a new
weekly podcast with a wide variety of topics to discuss,

Fixo and Tweebs. Two men sitting in a kitchen on a Saturday night.
Fixo runs Mimashima Records. This is the only time he gets to listen to demos and kick back.
Tweebs has a baby daughter to look after, so he doesn't get out much these days.
And a podcast was born. A podcast dedicated upcoming and unsigned bands from across the world. Punk, rock, indie, ska, emo and more... it certainly had something.
Then life got in the way and things got shelved.
But the show lived on, floating in the ether like a satellite of sound in the silent void.
Or, rather, the two episodes posted in 2006 had received over 91,000 hits by the end of May 2008...
Time to relaunch the series.
A podcast of upcoming and unsigned bands from Liverpool and across the UK. And a few international friends as well.

n the late 80s and early 90s a vibrant underground music scene emerged in Little Rock. Unlike other towns, Little Rock's scene was composed almost entirely of kids. 14-18 year-olds were booking their own shows, starting record labels, opening record stores and playing with large national acts. In the process they would build a tight-knit, flourishing underground community that existed completely outside of the High School norm and was all their own. The film focuses on the roots of the Little Rock scene, how it changed the lives of those involved, the enormous DIY ethos that has shaped the scene for the past 20 years and how the scene continues to thrive as its pioneers hit their mid-30s.
Towncraft will be released in theaters, on DVD and online in the May and June of 2007. A 40 band soundtrack will be released to accompany the film along with a 60 page book of stories from scene expatriates. |
